Review: InfiRay Cabin Series thermal monoculars
The InfiRay Cabin CBL19 and CBL25 thermal monoculars cost $2300 and $2600 respectively, with image quality to fit the price as well as a few features to make them stand out in an increasingly busy market. Highlights include the built-in LED torch, the inclusion of two removable, rechargeable batteries and the use of a lever to adjust focus instead of a lens ring. The key difference between the CBL19 and CBL25 is the lens size of 19mm and 25mm respectively. It makes the view through them noticeable different, and we'll show you why in this video. CFMoto CForce 1000 Overland ATV review
Просмотров 19 тыс.2 года назад
This is a big quad! CFMoto calls it an Overland and it’s built for travelling with a load in comfort - perfect for hunters who’ve got ground to cover and the need for a ton of grunt. At $15,490 (in 2021), the Overland is a high-performance ATV with all the options and two seats for the price of a pretty mundane UTV. And with a 1000cc V-twin engine, it is a hell of a quad!
Review: Clenzoil firearm cleaner, lubricant and protectant
Просмотров 13 тыс.2 года назад
Clenzoil is new to the Australian market but it’s been around since 1948. From what I’ve seen of Clenzoil so far, it’s good. Two things immediately stand out: First, it really does clean. Second, it adheres well to metal surfaces so it maintains a protective oily film for the long term.
Review: Infiray Eye E6+ & E6 Pro thermal monoculars
Просмотров 15 тыс.3 года назад
InfiRay offers a pair of third-generation Eye E6 thermal spotting scopes, one at $4400, the other at $3900, and their performance makes them extremely tempting monoculars in that price bracket. They work exactly as they should and provide image quality and features that are right up there for value. My pick of these third-generation Eye monoculars was the E6 for its wider field of view, and it’...
Review: Savage A22R Pro Varmint in .22WMR, a lever-release rimfire rifle at a discount
Просмотров 11 тыс.3 года назад
Savage’s lever-release A22R rimfire rifle just didn’t take off in Australia but because of that you can buy it at permanently discounted prices, so if it wasn’t all that appealing then, maybe it should be now. The lever-release system has a lot going for it. Its simplicity is a joy and it is very practical for pest control. At current prices, it’s hard to resist.
Review: HikMicro Lynx Pro LH25 Thermal monocular
Просмотров 23 тыс.3 года назад
The LH25 thermal monocular is the top of HikMicro’s Lynx Pro range, offering you a very light, compact and practical spotter with decent optics for $2400, and if that’s your budget you should definitely have a look at this one. There’s plenty of good things to say about the LH25. Most of all, its image quality and detection ability are not all that far behind those of monoculars that cost twice...
Review: HikMicro Thunder TH35 thermal rifle scope is great viewing at under $4000
Просмотров 37 тыс.3 года назад
The HikMicro Thunder TH35 is one of the few thermal rifle scopes redefining the affordability of the technology while offering image quality you can be very happy with. It has genuinely good picture quality at just $3750. The zeroing increments need to be made smaller, and the zeroing system could be made better. Even so, we got the Thunder performing well (check out the hits in the video!) and...
Gallery guns: Shooting the beaut .22 pump-action rimfire rifle is too much fun!
Просмотров 3 тыс.3 года назад
This is too much fun! The roots of this pump-action .22 rimfire rifle go back to the late 1880s when prolific firearm inventor John Moses Browning designed the first of them. Now, 130 years later, literally millions of beaut little .22 pump-actions like this have been made. We'll show you why they're still so popular.
Beretta 686 Silver Pigeon I sporting shotgun review
Просмотров 133 тыс.3 года назад
The main attractions of the Beretta 686 Silver Pigeon I are that it’s extremely well made and long-lasting, as well as light and easy to handle. Beretta doesn’t tend to do things by halves, so even this, their entry-level shotgun, is a pretty high-spec gun.
Nitecore P30i Hunting Torch review
Просмотров 5 тыс.3 года назад
Hunting light technology keeps getting better and the new Nitecore P30i takes us to another level of scope-mounted torches by being small, light and extremely bright. It is a 2000 lumen handheld or scope-mounted torch that shines a spotlight-style beam a long way out into the night, while at the same time providing a spread that illuminates like a floodlight. You don’t need to adjust the focus ...
HIKMICRO Lynx Pro LE10 thermal imaging spotter review
Просмотров 80 тыс.3 года назад
At $800, the HikMicro Lynx Pro LE10 costs less than an equivalent thermal spotter did two years ago and it performs two or three times better. If you want proof that thermal imaging technology is improving fast, this is it. The Lynx Pro LE10 is priced within reach of most shooters, justifying thermal vision for people who might only use it occasionally. Hikmicro is distributed in Australia by T...
Review: InfiRay Rico RH50 & RL42 Thermal Rifle Scopes
Просмотров 22 тыс.3 года назад
InfiRay has moved into the Australian market pretty aggressively with some highly specified thermal devices coming in at attractive prices. Currently the Rico series is InfiRay’s top-shelf range, and even then prices top out at a comparatively modest $6300. We’ve been using both thermal scopes in the Rico series, the RH50 and RL42, and the short version of the story is that they’re both very im...
Glow Shot Target Stakes splatter target review
Просмотров 1,8 тыс.3 года назад
GlowShot’s lightweight and portable Target Stakes feature adhesive splatter-type faces, and are cheap and disposable - perfect for casual plinking or sighting in on a weekend away. The stake is a really simple idea. It’s a very heavy-duty piece of cardboard cut so the round target backing has a stubby spike at the bottom. Just push the spike into the ground, stand back and shoot. The targets ar...
Review: SmartRest Racken Rest II, an excellent gun rest for cars
Просмотров 5 тыс.3 года назад
The SmartRest Racken Rest II is a gun rest designed to sit in the window frame of a car and hold your rifle while you drive. When a shot’s on, you can simply stop, swing the rifle into your shoulder and shoot. It’s as easy as that, and it works really well. You can watch this video, and find out more at straightshooting.com.au.

Since people can make their own gun cleaner and lubricant. Clenzoil and other gun cleaning products aren't worth it. Like Hoppe's No. 9 Solvent, it's mainly kerosene base, ammonia with banana oil and ammonia and alcohol. All these companies are doing are repacking common hardware store items like? Paint thinner, mineral oil and mineral spirts for example. All they do is add coloring to the products. There are others that are vegetable base, that one can make as well.

I'm the same, to the point where my right eye wasn't really doing much work. Two options: A. Learn to shoot left handed. B. Get used to using your right eye with the scope. I went for option B. Took me about 3 months to go from screwing my left eye shut and struggling to get a good sight picture, to being able to keep both eyes open and quickly acquire the target. It's possible, but frustrating to begin with.

If they'd used the 18650 battery (like the Guide TD210) , this would be a real winner. Guide TD210's battery life is 8 hour too, dont know why they didn't (the Guide's sensor looks like a blurry mess compared to this though.) I'd buy this now at $700, but how long is that internal battery going to last - With an external battery, it could theoretically last many, many years
