    Hi thanks for the video, I was a tech at a company that used 2" PZT-8 bonded to an aluminum plate. I measured to find an equivalent inductance to tune out the piezo capacitance and then could measure R. Now we could setup the amp with a conjugate matching circuit to match C and R of the transducer. We drove it with a 250 watts in a water bath. Our frequency was around 660kHz. My question, we always drove them at the low impedance point. I always wondered why. Is they pattern of the transducer any different between the low and high frequency point?

    Interesting as always. I am always surprised to see the single JFET amplifier used for electret microphones when a cascode arrangement is clearly called for due its reduced Miller capacitance. I guess the small increased cost implications for the added JFET and biasing resistors are the problem...

    My transducer has a huge crack in it , I guess the water wasn't cooling it enough. I'm going to replace the transducer, but surely epoxy resin isn't going to be rigid enough to hold it? The original compound looks like a type of liquid metal, UV light cured stuff as in dental cement?

    Hello Husain, do you one day plan to make a video on ultrasonic cutters? There is a lot of content generally on cleaners online but I find so little on cutters, especially ones like cake and pizza cutter knifes that are bigger, so interested in them, like do they have a stronger transducer or is it just the horn design that makes them cut so efficiently a large cross section

    This is pretty much how electric drum kits work. A piezo picks up the vibrations and you then just trigger a modo signal

    The word you were looking for at 3:46 is "transversaly isotropic". Piezoelectrics have to be transversaly isotropic or Orthotripic (PVDF) to be called as such.

    Thank you very much for the valuable video. I would like to ask you a question. I made a very similar simulation. I want to compute the impedance of PZT on a frequency range. Unfortunately I'm only managing to getting the real value of the current, but not the imaginary one. As a consequence i can't get the correct imaginary impedance (and also module and phase). Could you please give me an advice? Thank you in advance!

    For a project of mine, i need to create high frequency soundwaves through a transducer. My main problem is that I dont have any idea how to accurate supply my transducer with these high frequency signals and still know what frequency I am providing to it. Basically I want to supply frequency range from 1.6MHz to 2.5MHz in steps of 0.1MHz. Is there any way to know beforehand what kind of frequency I am supplying? I can get to 4.05MHz(Max) and I want to accurately delay this to the range of 1.6MHz to 2.5MHz, how to do that?

    Do losses actually increase apart from mechanical resonance? Resonance describes the ability to store energy in the mechanical structure, but energy conservation still applies. Only the reactive power due to the electrode capacitance increases with the voltage, which is necessary for the higher impedance to supply the same power. I would be pleased to hear your view of things.
