Little tidbit about Air Nomad culture as this isn't fully explained in the show. As the name suggests, they are nomads by nature, always traveling, only using the temples for temporary stops. The temples are pretty much only inhabited by the young still in training, and a council of elders who oversees said training. Each temple is also divided by gender, north and south beng exclusively inhabited by males, while the east and west is exclusively inhabited by females. We don't know much about their culture beyond that, sadly. Also, unlike the other nations, ever single Air Nomad were a bender due to their high spitiruality.

This might be a minor spoiler if you plan on reading the comics, but i think it adds to this episode. The firelord was seeking for the perfect wife to have powerful children. He stole ursa from her home and made her his wife, knowing she was the daughter of the most recent Fire Avatar. This aligns with the themes of the show very well imo

The only issue with the way they wrote it is that Azula also shares the same lineage but she doesn't share the same struggle. I guess you could explain it as Zuko inherited their struggle and Azula inherited their talent. What the Firelord probably wanted from the union of the two lineages was a powerhouse successor like Azula but what the Fire Nation needed was a successor who could experience the internal struggle that's necessary to bring about reform like Zuko.

I think a lot of Aang's upbringing has more to do with him being an Air Nomad monk than him specifically being the Avatar. That's just how their lifestyle was. Most Avatars likely had a more regular upbringing, so they probably just lived like regular people who happened to have a high-stakes job.

The beach is so great as an episode! Finally, Combustionbending the most powerful form of Firebending is here! I think I wrote in an earlier post that in one Zuko's episode in Ba Sing Se was more important for his story. It was in plain sight all this time: Zuko is from Roku's lineage which is explained is dual side and inner stuggle!

41:42 Idk if it's been mentioned but I love how when we see Iroh talk to Zuko, the perspective we're given makes it seem like Zuko is the one behind bars.. like he's the one who is trapped. Gary intentional and very cool direction

Tbh the pilot was top tier but the execution for me so far falls short. I love the pilot, the show is mid at best.... Helluva boss has continued awesomely.... Mostly ... Second season again after the pilot is.... It's alright

I know both of these episodes have deep character moments that can be discussed at length, but I'd just like to say, "oh what the f" is the most adequate reaction to the Bounty Hunter's attack. His bending is so unique you can see how he outmatches Team Avatar simply because no one knows how it works and how to counter it

I think Sozin came to help for multiple reasons. I do genuinely think he still cared about Roku but also, that kind of volcanic eruption so close to his capital would've had significant impact on his citizens. But in the end, Sozin's ambition was stronger than his compassion for his friend.

AJ's reaction to the Roku/Zuko twist got me so hyped!! Man, I'm thinking I might do a rewatch of this show now!!

I don't think the point of the second episode was to show that anyone can change, I think it's to remind you that the fire nation aren't all bad and that both good and bad people come from it it's about the choices and the decisions that you make as well as you put your trust in that make all the difference, it's like Aang said, the foreign nation and the fire Lord are worth treating like people because they're not all bad I mean yes the current fire Lord is a very bad person but he is still a person and it's also showing that Zuko can be the change, if he becomes fire Lord then that will be what restore balance, because if him and Aang become friends then it'll be like a new chapter or a new start for the fore nation and it will help join all foreign nations back together it would literally fix the mistakes of the past.

Aang and Roku both had normal ish lives before being told, Aang also had it thrown at him too. The fire sages probably knew that Roku was the next avatar years before his 16th birthday but all avatars are told on that date. Aang being the exception. The air sages decided to tell Aang roughly when he was 10 because they knew, or at least, had a feeling that a war or something really bad was coming. They broke with tradition, told Aang, and decided to train him early by sending him away to the other elemental nations to master the elements.

Book 3 is a masterclass. And yes, I agree, I think Sozin went there to help but then saw an opportunity. And his ambition overpowered his sense of morality.

It’s a great pilot and series but maybe just watch the credits, all your questions will be answered lol. And cuz I love the first movie have to mention it, Hotel Transylvania is about monsters that we’ve grown up knowing. Not demons. Still “evil” creatures but more goofier. Hazbin has goofy moments but not like that lol.

i am very happy you are doing Hazbin Hotel. Hope copyright will not be to bad but i saw some reactions to entire episodes or the songs cut out and then the songs as their own reactions. If you have to cut the songs i would be very happy so see them as their own videos maybe two songs per video. This might also help to grow the channel because many like the songs a lot and search for reactions to them. I hope you have a great day.

Just wanted to make a quick note here to say I'm visually impaired and it was very tricky to write out this comment, so I apologise for any spelling mistakes etc, I wish comments had the option of being a bigger font. to make it easier for those like me, as using speech to text often causes miss understandings or spelling errors, that are difficult for me to correct, as it can be hard to see what I have written, but I've done my best and hopefully you can understand what I was trying to say. The white Lotus our secret Society formed by all four nations to help fight against dangerous threats or find sanctuary with fellow members when endangered etc, manny people you have met already throughout the show are a part of the secret society that Uncle Iro is a part of. By giving Sokka the White Lotus tile, he is letting them know they can trust him and is essentially inducting them into the order even if they don't know what it means. Also it's important to remember the nation aren't all bad, this is something that is easy to forget while watching the show, as that's what you're shown, but it's important to remember that is just one perspective none of the nations within avatar are black or white, everything is grey, you can find both good and bad people in all foreign nations, it's just unfortunate that for over 100 years the fire nation has been ruled by terrible people, first starting with Sozen. Azolon and now Ozi, but just think how different it would be if someone good and better sat on the throne instead. Just like we are shown in episode two of season three when Aang goes to fire nation school, a lot of it is just propaganda and it's trickling down from the top, yes it's true that a lot of the foreign nation people team avatar encounter are bad, but just think about it, majority of those people are high up in power, soldiers navy etc people taking orders from the fire lord himself, but the common people of the fire nation have the potential to be good, despite being whopped by propaganda, the point is no one is truly good or truly bad and we even see this throughout the other nations as well, like that earth town Zuko visited in season two, with those horrible nation soldiers he had to fight or even look at people like jet or master Pako from the northern water tribe, he was incredibly sexist and a pretty horrible guy until he changed. Even look at people like Uncle Iro, well never as bad as his younger brother, he still did some pretty awful things and was a pretty awful person until his son died, which changed him massively he did a lot of inner reflecting, even going on a spiritual journey within the spirit world, then when he came back he was a much nicer much kinder person, now he shares his wisdom and knowledge with other others, he went with Zuko after his banishment, not because he agreed with Zuko's decisions, but because he wanted to protect his nephew and help him become a better person. I think that there is a great quote that sums this up from Harry Potter and the order of the Phoenix, when Siri says "We all have light and dark inside of us, but it's the part we choose to act on that shows who we really are" This is also true for the world of avatar as well, you can find good and bad people within all foreign nations, it's their experiences that shape them and it's their decisions that lead the choices they make, whether good or bad, but everybody has the potential to change or become better, if they really want to. This show does a great job at playing on your expectations and highlighting some of the world issues we all face, showing how much war can change you or being kind or good can really do, there are a lot of things that get overlooked, maybe because this is thought of as a kids show, but it does tackle some really adult themes, some obvious and others hidden a little deeper below the surface, the important thing to remember is that things aren't always as they seem in the world of avatar, constantly changing with no one being fully good or fully bad, but it's our choices and the decisions we make that lead us down different paths whether light or dark, good or bad, which is just something to keep in mind as you watch the show, especially going into this final season.

Sokka was already a competent warrior, not a master of course. But the sword master was teaching him that using your mind and being smart is what makes a good warrior into a master while also refining his sword technique. He didn’t become a master in a day. The teacher just showed him that he needed to use all his skills when fighting to truly be great.

I dont think you really understood the second episode. It wasn't about strength training, it was about using your mind creatively and being able to take things in instantly.

One thing we all forget is that Sokka knows how to fight-maybe not great-but would likely be competent with a sword, even if the boomerang was his preferred/favorite weapon.

So a lot of people have created a theory regarding the Painted Lady. They believe that the pollution was actually preventing her from appearing at all. After Katara helped the village clean the river she was able to appear once more. That is why she personally thanked Katara. Not only helping the village but cleaning the river

The thing, imo, about Sokka saying he's useless is, he's not. He's always been the squad's tactician. The first example that comes to mind is how he was the one who figured out how to take down the Drill in Ba Sing Se. He figured out when to invade the Fire Nation. A lot of breakthroughs the group has when faced with an obstacle come from him. All in all, I don't think the point of his training was to turn him into a master swordsman overnight; notice how Piandao complimented him on how he fought smart, because he was clearly outmatched when it came to sword-fighting ability. The point was to make him understand that his greatest strength was having a good head on his shoulders

24:45 "that is the wrong type of show for that!" - exactly! 🙂 Nickelodeon urged the Avatar creators that Aang should wear such an armor (probably to sell more toys). That scene is the Avatar creator telling Nickelodeon what they think of that idea... 😁😁 27:48 "I didn't think it's gonna be that easy!" - the master probably has heard lots of "I'm the best warriors in my village" types (that was season 1 Sokka) but no one who is humble enough to admit that they have a lot to learn. That's what impressed him. Season 1 Sokka, who introduced himself to the Kyoshi warriors as the best warrior in his village, would've been sent away immediately. That shows how far Sokka has come since season 1. 30:27 "That's gonna make you stronger?" - I guess a swordmaster should observe his surroundings and the positions of his opponents in an instant and then remember it all during the fight when there's no time to constantly look around.

Zuko Alone is one of my favorite episodes of this show! It really showcases to the audience and Zuko how the war has hurt everyone. How the War has twisted people on both sides to behave like bullies and bigots. It shows how war just breeds more hatred and violence in a viscous cycle. This experience Zuko has demonstrates to him how he was manipulated by his culture to believe the war was a good thing. He now starts to understand how maybe he needs to end the cycle of violence.

It only gets better from here. The pacing does start to pick up in season 2 onward.
