My Final Decision For My First Trucking Company / Trucking Company Reveal 🚛
I start orientation on Tuesday Florida short haul blessed
@@NO_ID94 your doing Florida Salary? All best good luck to you 🙏🏻
You know anything about it??
Nice video 💪🏻
@@obr165-cr6yk thank you!
Good luck with the new company bro!
@@rqgerthat thanks bro! If your ever in the southwest states come say wassup lol
@@Fourzerosickness most definitely. I just realized I think we went to the same trucking school, TDA. Did you go to the one in Sacramento off Florin Perkins or the one in Yuba?
@ you mean Truck Driving Academy yes, I went to Yuba city during the time bc they only had over there at the time, I graduated on September 2023 before they had one in sac. Hbu?
@Fourzerosickness dope. So Dave was your instructor out in Yuba at that time? And I went to the one in Sac, started in Feb 24, and finished a month later in March. Did you hear they closed down? Apparently a ton of people hadn't finished, and they showed up one day and the doors were closed. Nobody has been able to get in touch with anyone since. So they screwed over a bunch of people unfortunately
@ it was Marcos,Mike and Tom during the time. I think Dave got hired after I graduated tbh. Tbh it did took me awhile bc i feel like they didn’t teach me much to pass the test. I had to basically learn it on my own. I heard they did closed down bc my recruiter couldn’t get a hold of them at all. So luckily I brought my certification with me to orientation. Luckily I took it with me when I did.
💙
Live load calls is one reason I left.
@@CucamongaRob same here I don’t miss it not one bit of it. Interesting fact Prime, Inc does live loaded call as well too.
Second question, sounds like you did the Western 11, have you heard from the new guys doing reefer 48? That’s what I’ve been thinking about diving into, your thoughts are appreciated! Also, God bless you, happy to hear you’re a brother in Christ🙏🏼😊
@@davidnoonan7893 I can’t speak for reefer 48 bc I never did that. I did western 11 dry and sometimes reefer on the occasion. I did hear one person do all 48 from my orientation class and the rest of the orientation did western 11 like I did.
@ thank you, I appreciate your input!
I did reefer all 48 and they don’t drive you all 48 and it’s not all reefer it’s mostly reefer but a lot of dry van as well I did a lot of west coast like western 11 I only went to the east coast 1 time with 8 months that I was with them went to the Midwest like twice and never went down south besides my home terminal in Dallas
Hey bro, I’m about to get my CDL, and May is one of the companies I’m looking at. Question, how was starting your career during the winter months. For the most part, did you feel comfortable on those roads as a new driver?
@@davidnoonan7893 tbh I wasn’t that comfortable when I first started out especially in the winter months I took my time and took it slow and cautious. It was definitely overwhelming for sure. You definitely gotta be careful in the winter months is not a joke. Make sure you make good judgement calls.
thx for the advice driver. on delivering loads ontime.
@@francorama your welcome I’m glad I could help. Remember no load out there is worth your life. Do what you think is safe.
Your video just made me reconsider mays…I dnt want 130 a day for a year worth of experience…fck that..I finish school this week…thanks for the video bro..#GoodLuck
@@malcolmmalcolm2934 it’s only good if your a new driver after 6 months- 1 year of experience it’s better to go elsewhere bc your topped out at 130 a day for daily pay. Thank you I appreciate it!
@@malcolmmalcolm2934 you also get mileage pay as well, plus a monthly safety bonus. Idk how they pay people with experience. I'm at May, as a new driver and make about 1k a week
@ yea I’ll have to think about it…I have to be able to make more than my last job which was a lawn maintenance technician @840 a week mowing grass in Jax,fl
@@malcolmmalcolm2934good luck with that bro new drivers don’t make much you gotta put in the time before you see any real money
Good luck on your next adventure man. How much are you trying to make a week? I'm averaging about 1k a week at May
@@rqgerthat thanks man I appreciate it! Over 1K a week preferably 1300-1400 take home a week. I didn’t even reach 1K at all when I was with May. Most I made was 800 a week.
@Fourzerosickness dang man, that's crazy. My last check from them was over 1k. But I'm OTR and run 7 days a week.
@@rqgerthat you make it seems ok..a lot of reviews on here make it seems not ok …idk where to go honestly…I’ll just have to ini mini mighty moe it out… but I need at least 1k a week after taxes
May don’t pay however I am starting orientation soon. I have a felony that need about 6 more months before other place will hire so once I get my 6 months i doubt I will be there for much longer. Yea it takes a couple years to make six figures but what May pays any local place around me will pay the same with 8 hour day and home every night with weekends off
Can you tell what a Lamper Fee is? May I ask. Frist.
@@kathyg6976 a Lamper fee is when the receiver charges the driver to unload the freight from the trailer.
what’s your CPM and what did you get on your 6 month review and are you doing 11 western states or the 48 state division?
@@somixstyn I’m not on CPM. I’m on daily pay. For daily pay you get 130 a day 6th month raise from 120 when you first start out with no experience with may. I’m on 11 western.
130 a day i would be chewing the ass off of anyone that called me😂 micro manage, they wouldn't want to call. Get your self in a dump truck
Me and my wife got our 6 months there and left! Since they pay 130$ a day take advantage and go slow. Use your pta so you’re able to have good rest and not do so much in a days work
@@youngxulee5773 I’m looking into other companies I haven’t decided where I want to go yet. I got like 6 different trucking jobs offers which I’m one phone call away.
Which companies are you looking into ?
to make Great money 💰 you will need to have 3-4 years experience all the great paying jobs want you to have 4-7 years experience.
you can’t come out of Truck Driving school making 100k a year you are a rookie so you will be paid as a rookie. once you get experience it will get better.
what does the pensacola terminal look like.
It’s pretty decent but really small I live in Pensacola and pass it daily
@@christophershawnmaddox6892 i can’t tell you I only stay in the west coast.
It’s very small.
I’m at may now and it sucks! Running me 7 days a week off of recaps for $639 a week net I got to get out of here
@@lowkeylaflare the pay does suck when you first start out especially if your new new. Which I’m not sure your new new or not. the pay anywhere you go ain’t going to be good money in most trucking companies. Especially your a rookie. The only reason why I stuck with May still is bc of the experience.
@@lowkeylaflare man 👨 you got to start somewhere you’re not going come out of school 🏫 making 100k a year. get your experience get a better paying job May Trucking company is a starter company just like swift Warner enterprises Ptl Covenant usxpress kllm the starter companies not going pay 💰 you 700-800 a week check in with Tyson chicken.
Quit man. I'm pretty sure you're a rookie, you're gonna get paid like shit no matter where you go
Long time no see. But are you at the loves in Salina Utah. If you are I parked right next to you. I'm not in a may truck. It's pride. Good seeing another video. Keep on trucking. Tdog the trucker....
@@tracyhadley5258 no that’s not me unfortunately. I mainly stay on the I-5 corridor most of the time since I been with may.

Did they start doing hair follicle drug testing? I’m getting mixed reviews online.
@@rodenttheclown4674 I haven’t heard anything about them doing hair follicle test. They are still doing the urine test for DOT.
Hey bro, good to see another video. I head up to orientation for May this weekend and may see you on the road soon
@@rqgerthat you might pretty soon & good luck on your orientation and your solo out process as well I hope you pass.
@@Fourzerosickness thanks dude. We did and I just ran my first load from Brooks to Yolo. Taking the day to get some things together and heading back out tomorrow
Hey sorry got a quick question for ya. The recruiter told me there's only two days of training with a trainer and then I'll be assigned my own truck. My question is how long were you with a trainer before you were assigned your own truck?
@@dennisscales6626 I was with my mentor for 4 days and I solo out 3 weeks after that before I got my assign truck.
34hr resets are the best in my opinion. Run that truck 10+ hrs until you’re forced to do a 34. Get to your appointments early as possible, if they don’t accept your load then just wait and chill. You get way better loads with a full 70!
I wouldn’t have brought her on that truck. You warned her in advance. How it is on the road. Women are unstable emotionally too have on The truck with you. She was a liability to you and a major distraction. Which makes your job much more difficult.
@@francorama well everyone makes mistakes tbh we’re all human at the end of the day. I do agree with you my point is don’t make the same mistake as I did with that.
Just for experience but yeah better to go somewhere else
I’m supposed to start with May on the 19th. My orientation is at the Brooks Oregon Terminal. Maybe I’ll see ya on the road. 👍
@@lapdogg maybe you will since I run the I-5 corridor pretty much 🤷🏻♂️😂 and good luck on Orientation next week as well too do the best that you can and you’ll be alright.
Does May have driver facing camera on there trucks?
@@jamesdixon7644 No they don’t only outwards camera
May don't pay
Does May have dedicated route drivers for the West States?
How much they pay now. I left in 2022
@@TruckNgamin well I think it’s pretty much the same when you left and I get paid 130 a day on daily pay
My advice to you man with recap is if you feel like you need a break tell them that hey after this load am taking a reset. I live May Trucking and all but your mental/physical health comes first dude take care of yourself
@@TruckNgamin I do agreed with you on that my mental/ physical health comes first
You ever done loads to New York?
New York is horrible they drive crazy and make sure you know your route parking is not bad in upstate New York but New York, New Jersey area yeah good luck. My best advice get in get out
@@mattgameplay6477 nope bc I’m on western 11 I only stay in the west coast

They are totally giving it to you up the ass
nice road
Used to work here. Glad you’re enjoying it my dm was such a meanie
Damn, I make more than that a day in a furniture factory.
Yes, But in trucking he'll never brake a sweat, sees a different part of the country everyday, and he's only been doing this 6mos. In 6 years he'll make 4 times what you make. In only his 2nd year his pay will double. Just giving you a CDL breakdown, not trying to knock you bro. 😉
Hey I started with may making the same amount I got 4 years in and got all my endorsements and making at least 1200 a week on a bad week most i made so far was 1400 and I used to work offshore.
I start Monday
Good luck they fuckinng suck
GREAT VIDEO BRO CAN I PUT YOU DOWN AS A REFERRAL IM TRYNNA WORK HERE
My DM is pretty good too but the fuel shit is driving me crazy! I’m OTR 48 and they let me go all the way to empty with the light on most of the time. They start you off at 0.41 CPM $120 daily pay for OTR 48. Then after 3 months they bump you up to 0.43 CPM $125 daily pay.
What does .41cpm $120 daily mean. $120 a day minimum pay if you don't drive enough miles? - WW
@@WanderingWolf365yes, you get paid 120 or your CPM, whichever comes into be more.
@@I_AM_ROCKETbro do they even have regional not I’m not tryna do OTR
I’m in orientation right now in Lebanon TN, with May. Hopefully I solo out and meet you one day. Good luck and safe travels.
There cool over there
