I've lived in Korea over 30 years. So much has changed that it's hard to keep up. Join me as I break out of my routine and explore Korea all over again. While I'm at it, I'll give you my take on Korean food, history, culture, daily life, and anything else I can dig out of my experience here.

The hiking course that runs from Paldang Station across both Yebong and Ungil Mountains, then on to Ungilsan Station, is one I used to hike quite often in the 2010s. It's a long course that's quite strenuous in places. In this video, I go back for the first time in a few years to show you around. Greggs and jaffa cakes, I'm glad you got to experience such classic British cuisine Mike! Seriously though, it's really nice seeing your UK series, I think I sometimes take living here for granted. It's interesting to see what you find worth filming, seeing you really appreciate what seems like just normal countryside and buildings and historic sites to me reminds me to appreciate them a bit more
Have lived in Seoul for 31 years?

I am so glad you could make it to the Lake District. It's a beautiful place. A little known fact about Lake Windermere, it has more water in it compared to all bodies of water than all lakes in England.
The Lake District was fantastic. Mark has lived near there most of his life and filled my head with so much trivia that I couldn't possibly remember it all.
Gyeongui Jungang Line Seobinggo Station(Station number K112) located near Yongsan Garryson(or Garrison). My last visit.. Sunday Afternoon, March Third, 2024. I took bus route 400(bus number plate : 5750). Bus stops.. Gyeongui Jungang Line Yongsan Station(Station number K110) to Gyeongui Jungang Line Seobinggo Station(Station number K112). And I used cash for bus fare(1500 Won).
It would be really cool~~
I used to live in Hannam-dong and sometimes walked to the Han River park after midnight. I loved seeing the city lights from that perspective. I'll take the camera down there one day.
😭
Bicycles are the favorite items that are still being stolen in Korea, as there are professional thieves who specifically target them for a living.
난 한국인이지만 새벽에는 잘 안돌아다님...귀신나올까봐 덜덜덜;;;
Just kind reminder: better put on a reflective vest or toque for your own safety just incase.
I lived in VA, Northern and Southern California, Hawaii and Korea; I visited many countries in Europe and also traveled to numerous states in the USA. From a standpoint of pickpocketing, robbery, assault and stealing, Korea is definitely the safest country to live in. Of course, Korea has its own bad points such as bad air and humid summer and sometimes being crowded. For me, Korea is the safest and most convenient when it comes to daily living. I loved the fact that I didn't have to own a car to live in Korea. Also, service is very fast in Korea. There is no tip but almost always I tipped people because I wanted to. Here, in the US, I end up tipping often even though I don't want to. I would say one person can live very well in Korea on $4,000 per month. Here in Southern CA, no way.
3:41 Foreshadowing Placard of Senator for the district. -> 7:34 There’s his/ office lol 😂😂😂
Foreigners : Oh it’s really safe at early morning walking around the city in Korea! Koreans : WHY would you walk around the city at 3:00 AM in the MORNING?? Are you an Alchoholic or something? But I guess you are already a Korean lol
1 주년 축하드립니다. keep up your good work.
Thank you!
