I'm Not Mad, Just Disappointed [Switch Killer - Hard Gore]
The Hard Gore DVD series, a collection of cult and classic horror films and also some bizarre oddities. In this forty third episode we look at Switch Killer directed by Mack Hail. This is officially the worst film so far for it's harmful tropes. A terrible, generic slather with nothing to offer but outdated opinions against a marginalised group. Awful stuff, avoid. Stars the woman from Fateful Findings.

I Think This Might Be One Of The WORST Films I've Ever Seen [The Attendant - Hard Gore]
Remember 50p DVDs from CEX, should have banked on that more than I did if I knew even the local charity shops wouldn't be that generous.
I've been thinking this recently, same with CD's and PS2 games which have shot up in price!
I don't think I've ever seen anyone take such offence to a film before haha 😂
It's just that kinda movie haha! Thanks for watching
I love horror but I can't stand the super low budget stuff with terrible actors. I'd rather watch you just cover them. A 19 minute montage of a 65 minute film. 🤯
I'm glad my reviews are useful! I wouldn't wish anyone to watch stuff like this honestly, and I'm hoping this series of DVD's picks up a little in the final stretch.
I have no idea how you can watch these films 🤣 I wouldn't touch this movie even if I was paid to watch it..
A mix of curiosity, masochism and the need to complete things haha, I mean if I weren't making reviews of these I'd have given up long ago, possibly, either that or saying I'm making a video series is a great excuse to subject myself to the terrors of this collection.
@oldmanchimesreviews I'm glad you're doing it though haha, we watch your videos every time 😎
65 min film LOL, can't it even be called a film lol. I wish the vid went on longer, I wanted to see you bash it a whole lot more. I need to find one of your others that you covered in one of the other series when you ripped it to shreds, I just love it. Next weeks is prob gonna be more millennial trash haha
Technically yes (think the switch from short to feature is 45 minutes), but really it shouldn't be classed as a film for how terrible it is haha! I can promise more bad movie bashing next episode.
Wow, so out of all the movies across all the labels, is this like the worst one you seen. tbh I was hoping you would bash it more more, I love it when you absolutely rip a film to shreds, i.e Massacre at Central High to name one, there have been a few others, but just watching this, has that low budget, shot on DV, terrible acting, terrible editing film. I daren't watch this with mates, I think id be embarrassed LOL, great review though
This is for sure one of the worst things I've ever seen, ever. Massacre At Central High had a little more for me to latch onto with the ribbings, this one didn't really leave me much room outside of getting repetitive unfortunately haha! I don't blame you for not wanting to subject friends to this really.
Bravo for putting yourself through these trials! Great video and keep up the good (yet trying) work.
Thank you, part compulsion, part masochism and part curiosity is getting me through.
I think those are the most horrendous, disjointed sound effects I've ever heard. Why that shrieking cat sound when the vampire appears? Why the bizarre music? Why any of it? Why make this film? 😂
They absolutely are, this is one of those cases where the clips are just as bad in the context of the film as they are out of context in the reviews.
Completely agree with everything you said, i thought it was me regarding the incoherent script. I thought it was me. I don't know why its still in my collection. My version was the Shriek version, it's the HardGore version Can't be many more HardGore Films left, Switch Kiler, Evildpeak and Faces of Death. 4 only come to mind. Switch Killer isn't all that bad
Yeah, this film is just incoherent haha, everything I've read about it seems to agree too. Not many left at all, in the main section, there'll be a split in the series of one with the branding and ones without. Switch Killer is a definite, FOD4 fits into the no branding section and Evilspeak didn't get the Hard Gore treatment, was a Prism/Anchor Bay DVD.
It also has the Hank Kimble and Eb Dawson actors from the Green Acres tv show along with Emil Sitka from the 3 stooges with his classic line "hold hands you love birds".
Ah didn't realise this, never seen Green Acres, thanks for the info!
I believe I read an article about this movie back in the day in Fangoria magazine - I'm 63 yrs old - and saw it decades later. I don't really remember much about it but thanks for review. Just found your channel and subbed, nice job.
Welcome to the channel, thanks for watching!
"This young hip hop gangsta wannabe. He freestyle raps. He constantly, constantly talks." Sounds like me.
❤️
Think they are self aware about the film therefore the trolling with the Easter egg. Think I picked up Vampires VS Zombies cheap from CEX
Yeah you're probably right there.
I remember first seeing them in HMV when I was 16 and they intrigued me.
I was around that age too when I spotted them! It's an interesting series for sure.
This does seem to be a bit of an outlier in the millenitrash films given it involves a few sort of known names
I always thought Nightcrawler needed more zombies
Absolutely!
Joe Pilato was in Day of the Dead too. His acting was a lot better than what I saw of it in this one.
He was, you're right. I only mentioned Dawn haha!
Glad you mentioned AFGA, there are some decent ones coming up in that series
Yeah the series hasn't gone away, I've just focused in on the Hard Gore stuff, AGFA will be rearing its head soon.
No new vid yesterday?
Apologies, was poorly over Christmas and didn't get to shooting.
A similar car, if not the exact same one, was used in another campy 60's Italian film called Matchless. It's a pretty good comedy about a reporter who's accused of spying by the Chinese, but he escapes execution (and torture by centrifuge), by becoming invisible.
Not heard of that one, will add it to the watchlist though!
A film being boring is so much worse of a crime than being stupid fun. A bunch of my favourite series have an entry that's nowhere near as good or clever as the best ones but is enough of a riot that I still love it.
Completely agree, I always think a 2.5/5 is a more damning rating than a 1/5
Nice to see Beck enjoyed it. What else does she like? Also! I spotted the similarities to 1000 ways to die in the comments of your last video!
Shoah Yeah I noticed you'd mentioned it, funny because I'd written and recorded this in advance! Great minds
Hope you had a merry Christmas and have a happy new year, Jon!
I did despite not feeling my best, back to you as well, hope you had a good one!
I had heard that Christopher Lee witnessed the last execution before, but now I’m wondering if that was spread because of the rumor that he was in a scene in this movie or vice versa
Yeah I'm not fully sure to be honest, an interesting thought though.
I wonder if they faked the footage to get around the censors, a lot less hassle so to speak. Might also explain why the execution scene wasn't there.
Could easily have been the case honestly, the first two had major issues with distribution and the BBFC so it could have been
I think I've found my new favourite series. I haven't heard of this company before and I already know I'm going to love the deep dive
Thank you, glad you're enjoying it and welcome to the channel!
Ive always wanted to check this out, but the fact that you said its boring really puts me off it. I mean I can deal with bad films with good effects if there not boring, like the low budget Italian movies, but this, I dont think I can bring myself to watch
Yeah bet to avoid this one probably mate haha!
It's basically '1000 ways to die', in a way that makes you feel like you're not watching trash tv. It could be fun to overdub one with the other.
Great idea!
Films with good concepts that fall short otherwise are often interesting to me and make me wonder whether they could benefit from being remade.
They should be remade honestly, would be more productive than remaking perfectly fine films anyway.
14:43 Interesting the artwork on Boneyard in the HG advert is different than the actual cover. The eyes squint and different colour of the font.
You know I didn't even notice this, well spotted!
Think my instincts were correct on this one, must say I'm shocked that it's meant to be a 15 even back when HardGore originally released it,
I did wonder about that as there is plenty of gore and zombie kids in this!
Was any of the footage from this movie Not staged... almost all the first one was staged... just wanted to know
Think this was like 90% fake. Thy get around it by showing real mundane footage with no death in it, thats what they did with the first one
Great stuff! BTW what music do you use?
Thank you, it's just some royalty free jazz I found online!
Its all fake ! It you watch the shooting bits its obvious; there acting like 'Starsky & Hutch', there is also a smirk on the nurses face when they run up. The murdered bodies are set out too conveniently.
Not all of it is fake, lots of it definitely is but two of the deaths are real that I mention in the video. The part you mentioned is 100% fake though haha
clean yourself up and go outside
Roll in filth and stay inside
Its Time for my Hand 🖐️ job.....! 😂😂😂
Never trust dolphins
I would never
I remember renting these movies when I was a kid…
Yeah, I got this and the first as a kid haha.
The uncut version runs 100m and was released on Dutch vhs (standard video). Part 3 started life as FEAR and runs 100m uncut (dutch vhs Palma Video).
Thanks for the information, didn't realise the uncut version ran so long!
What kind of pervert would ever be interested in this ? People are demented.
I might just give it a miss ! Instead I will watch the great acting in No 10 Downing Street 😮
😂
I have an interesting story that will make quick so it was like probably I think 2006 and you know there used to be you know like adult stores that you can go buy videos and stuff and well you know I'm in the front you know how they always have like a like a cover front cover you know they'll sell like other kinds of you know books or magazines that are adult friendly in the back they sell the porn stuff you know but anyways in the front they had this the complete box set of faces of death one through four and it had the bonus CDs and everything but they didn't see part was that oh and the price was like it was like $100 and I still have it today so I have the price tag on the box set anyways someone came and brought that to that store and left and like disappeared like they didn't really know how they got their hands on that video it was like a one-off kind of thing well I just had to get my hands on it and I did
What I found hard to watch in this film was the Boxing scene because just weeks before that fight I was one of the last people to do a photo shoot with Boxer Johnny Owen and up until watching this film years later, I had never seen the actual footage of his fight. But I remember at the time he was so looking forward and psyched up for it sad how it ended.
You are right, that fight was rough. That's so interesting you did a photoshoot with him, and I imagine any sort of connection at all to the subject of a clip from these sorts of films makes that scene pretty unwatchable. Thanks for watching!
You have some cool movies on that shelf!
Thank you very much, it won't be long until all of them have a review either!
Even just judging by the clips, this one seems more tasteless(?) than the first. I guess that's inevitable with most mondo films though, especially with such a macabre concept. Also, that song is incredible.
It for sure was, it's the mindset of needing to one-up the previous I guess, wonder what three has in store for me. The song is by far the best part of me sitting through the Face films!
What were the 3 cut scenes? Animal Cruelty? Wish they used a hip hop track from 1997 called Faces of Death that was a great track by E-A-Ski
Ah yes, apologies, just realised I didn't really delve into the cuts. They are all animal cruelty and it sounds like some pretty horrific stuff involving monkeys is missing. Haha, maybe they'll use that track in the remake!?
I've only ever seen the first one a few times. I wouldn't be willing to pay for any of the sequels but I would watch them if I 'stumbled' across them.
I think that's the wise way to watch them to be honest haha
If you don't want to do the other ones, then please don't. Real deaths is not entertainment. On the other hand, Picture house/Indicator have announced a Thirst release. I was interested in The 88 Films version of The Boneyard but the trailer put me off
Thanks, I'm fine though, already prewatched part three so I don't have to watch it over Christmas haha! Ooo interesting, might have to grab the Thirst blu ray!
would you do a review of martin (1977) been meaning to watch it for quite somtime
Maybe at some point, after I've worked through the Hard Gore DVD's. I watched it not to long ago actually and enjoyed it.
