I even clip them onto the bottom rails on my handguns 😂 Over the years I’ve amassed plenty of colors and they do great for a color scheme. My Colt LE6920 M4A1 SOCOM II, which is the civi OE Block II offering from Colt from the period, picked up in 2012/2013, has every open slot on all 4 sides filled with a LaRue index clip. It’s kept my rail comfy and brand new ❤️

I love the 5.56mm NATO round, too, and it was interesting to see you guys pushing it out past 800M, especially with that wind. Is your 14.5" barrel an SBR? Is it a standard diameter (government profile vs. heavy or light)? I had a Colt AR-15A2 HBAR back in the 1980s, but I sold it. I plan to buy Stag or Fulton AR-15A4 with a heavy barrel. I will put some kind of optic on it, but I am a bit of a minimalist and will also use the iron sights, and I will not even put a rail on it--I like the stock handgrips. My idea of a "build" is an IWI Zion 16" AR with a simple optic. My next 7.62mm NATO rifle will be an M1A.

    Hey Hunter I think I asked this in the last video. Have you tried using the riser with the intention of head forward on the stock for scope use, and head back w/ the riser for a little boost on the top mount dot? I'm on the fence about getting one for a setup like yours, but I want to have a decently usable top dot without nods as well.

    • @projectblackhills
      @projectblackhills 5 месяцев назад

      That was definitely the original plan. I've just found that this specific style of riser does nothing for cheek weld. If you do a normal weld, you don't feel it, and if you try and move your head back to get up on the riser, it feels awkward and unintuitive. Like I said in the video, at this point, it's only on there for looks. Gives the tan stock some nice contrast and doesn't add any noticeable weight.

    I’m confused, I know the polonium’s are great cans , but I thought they have the highest back pressure when comparing to like a sandmanS? Can any one confirm this? I actually have a sandman S , and I want a polonium , but was told that polonium’s have higher back pressure.

    • @theLeadGin
      @theLeadGin 5 месяцев назад

      The full size polonium has more back pressure than the Sandman s. The polonium k has about the same maybe a touch more than the Sandman s. For reference the full size polonium and Sandman s where shot on the same rifle 13.7" 5.56 with a riflespeed gb. The polonium needed setting 2, and the Sandman s and polonium k needed setting 3 (a less restrictive setting) to bring ejection to 3:30-4 o'clock.

    • @projectblackhills
      @projectblackhills 5 месяцев назад

      So far the felt gas in my face is much less with the Polonium-K. I'm sure there are scientific tests out there, and @theLeadGin might be quoting one of those, but in my real world experience, the Sandman-S has more back pressure and gas in my face. The rifle as a whole was tuned as well as I could without getting an adjustable gas block or BRT tube before, and just swapping the cans, there is a noticeable difference, and the Polonium-K comes out on top. This is all just my opinion and my experience.
