I'm 5'6 and my ideal weight is 145 pounds. I've had a full body screening for determining my body fat and muscle mass. Less than that would make me unhealthy because it's good to have a 1:1 ratio for bone mass and muscle mass is what my instructor told me. I have wide hips and big boobs ofc I will weigh more than a woman my height with a more narrow body type. Can we stop obsessing over the number on the scale so much?

Everyone has different advantages and disadvantages. While most people I know struggle to achieve a full split, I find them easy and relaxing to the point where I once fell asleep in one. While most people find it easy to do pushups, a single one is a challenge to me. Yesterday I did 8, which is such a small number compared to the majority but it's a lot considering my lower back pain and thin arms. Everyone is on their own journey, let's just support one another instead of comparing and invalidating people's victories

I'm fat. I know it. I'm working on it. However, when I was skinny, it was because I was a kid and didn't have people taking care of me, so I developed some really terrible habits and associations. Then, I was food insecure, then I tried to eat until I wasn't around anymore... There's way more there that needed treatment than my weight. It was a side effect of a lot of crap and none of it was going to be helped by side eye and a snarky comment.

My doctor told me I needed to go on statins and change my diet. I told her no. She pulled out tye tablet...showed me the numbers...told me for my age and weight I was 2.3% higher risk of a heart attack. I asked her what kind of money did she make from the pharmaceutical company for forcing me to take a drug I didn't need?

I had a doctor send me the weight watchers. When I was 114 lb. He told me I needed to lose 14 lb. The people at weight watchers thought I was on maintenance from losing weight and rolled their eyes when I walked through the door.😂

5’9 and 150 is in the healthy weight range for many people. I’m 5’9 and when I was a teen, size 2 and running like 4 hours a day, I weighed 140.

Doctors don’t take height and weight, Medical Assistants do. Unfortunately sounds about right for that position. Don’t listen to anything they have to say. They’re not even nurses. You’re healthy and beautiful and if your weight was an actual concern; the actual MD would talk to you about it.

I remember many years ago I worked with a fat woman who was about 6 inches shorter than me. One day she mentioned how much she weighed, I was shocked that our weight was about the same. The difference in height makes a huge difference in weight. It's not about the number It's about being healthy. I know skinny people who are not healthy and one dropped dead of a heart attack. Now that I'm getting older I've packed on some pounds. I just had a green smoothie and bought a bunch of healthy food options. Hoping to loose those extra pounds because I think I will feel better and younger. Your weight is great and I pray that you are healthy as well.

At 8 months pregnant my weight was identical to my weight at my previous annual check in. My male doctor berated me for the full appointment that I need to take weight loss seriously and start cutting weight because I was “morbidly obese.” He would not agree with my perspective that same weight as last year + 8months pregnant = obvious weight loss over last year.

I have gastroparesis. So I went to a gastroenterologist & all he was worried about was what the heaviest I had ever weighed. Yes I am overweight, I'm not denying that I'm not, but my weight has nothing to do with my gastroparesis!! So making me feel awful for my weight was a dick move

Was actually told by the gastro I was too fat to have Crohn’s disease. I’m 5’2” and 120 pounds. I’m also an industrial athlete who can lift 150 pounds. I asked if he looked at my bloodwork or just my thighs. He is not a candidate for my health team. I require competence and a willingness for me to choose my treatments.

Not exactly the same thing, but my husband and I went to a marriage counselor who at the beginning of our third session announced that he knew what was wrong with our marriage: I'm too fat. Yes. He went on to say (real quote!) "If my wife was so big I couldn't get my arms all the way around her, I wouldn't want to hug her."

I did the same thing with my son when he was 3 years old when he pushed a small piece of lego up his nose.. At first, I was scared, and he was laughing, but it worked without any harm
