Sarcoidosis: overview of cutaneous and extra-cutaneous systemic features
Sarcoidosis is a multisystem disease characterised by granulomas in various organs. These are non-caseating epithelioid granulomas or naked granulomas. This refers to the histologic description of sarcoidal granulomas , distinguishing them from the caseating or cheese-like granulomas seen in tuberculosis.
