FINALLY TRIED THE BIG TRACK With A Speed Limit But Still
yeah masstuning did the same thing to me. I got a pompous middle aged dude micromanaging how I drive when I first started. It's really them trying to teach you about being safe and "optimal lines" to teach you. But driving fast is not something that can be taught to some people. It's mostly a feeling with trial and error. I got 1 instructor who said "ok let's go" and I said "you aren't going to tell me what to do?" He said no just go do your thing and that will tell me what type of driver you are. spun out made mistakes but It was fast. Ignore them and do what you want. I certainly wasn't there to go slow
nice one. which date was this?
Sept 23rd! This past monday
great video
I'm trying my best with what I have!
The w is for winter. So in the cold it's slightly thicker than 75w-140. 85w-140 has the exact same viscosity at temp
w is for "weight" First number is for cold 2nd number is for hot.
Your conversations are literally the same stuff my friends and I run through when wrenching on our VW’s and Nissans. Felt uncanny for a second.
That's what I'm trying to go for with this series of videos, just make it like we're all hanging out together! Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video, you earned your 100th sub!
Thank you so much!
Lmao!! As a former B5 Passat and B6 A4 owner I fully relate to all of this
4:35 Lmao I will not take this Subaru slander , you leave me & my head gasket alone
The only reason we joke about it in our videos a lot is because I had a GD WRX in high school that I had to have two of the same car just to make it run!
They sell a dedicated tool kit but don't want to to fix your own car? 🤔
Wait until you want to change out the lights. You're in for a treat!
This is not why cars are more complicated. When cars were easier to work on they also has 3 features 2 of them being start and stop. They also made 100 hp. If you want a car that has 200hp and every feature under the sun the get more complicated.
I was not talking about the cars construction in general. Obviously cramming a lot of different technologies like a hpfp, direct injection, vvt, etc. Into a small space on a small engine will result in a complex package. The problem I encountered was that, in all the different cars ive worked on, a lot of that job had steps that seemed intentionally rediculous for the purpose of having the service take longer and have more '1 time use paarts'.
Not sure it is 100% corporate greed. Lot of maintenance issues are created by engineers that design cars, but they have never actually worked on cars.
Some of it seems so intentional though, especially on this car
@CornerAfterCorner it could be. Maybe it is micro revenge on the engineering teams part for crap working conditions
Nothing like a Ford 😂. Oil soaked toolth belts? You betcha. Any method to easily replace the belt? Repairing is so 1945..... 🤦
And here's me, a Subaru owner changing his timing belt in two hours with his own tool set and minimal skills...
I love people complaining about specialty tools like we haven’t needed them for the last 60 years on cars
Fair point
What is holding that car up?
Oh uh... RV stabiliser jacks...
@@CornerAfterCorner thought so! Hahaha love it
Did you buy the oil pump belt too? And that PowerShit? I mean Powershift?😅
Its a manual, and the oil pump is not driven by a belt!
That tool kit is 40$ on Amazon. I can't even buy 1 wrench on the tool truck for 40$ quit crying. Also that doesn't just work for 1 car. And the job is extremely easy when you have the right tools.
I feell your pain on that. Word of advice dont buy anything from the tool trucks regardless of peer pressure. You can do the same jobs with tools from home depot or lowes!
Have a vehicle with the 4.0 SOHC. To do the timing chain you have to pull the entire engine because you have chains in the front and back of the engine. Been a damn reliable vehicle, but the timing job is stupid.
You're wrong right to repair just means they have give you access to the tools to do it what they charge for it cannot be controlled by the government cuz then we would not be a free country so therefore write to repair you have the tools there within compliance that is the whole point of right to repair
That is.... Exactly what I said? Or thats what I was trying to convey at least
Am ford technician. Yes it sucks. Try getting a timing kit for a transit lol.
Did my first 1.6 Ecoboost, professionally, at an independent shop a few mos ago. It went well but seemed over engineered. Dohc twin cam tbelt shouldn’t be that involved
Cry baby literally
"I have no motivation to do this, but I'm gonna" famous last words 😂
I do the timing belt with out the specialty tools just mark the belt and cams and crankshaft saves a lot on time
Someone with the money and know how or a group of people with money and know how between them all need to design and make a car or truck or both that are simple mechanically, and sell them. I know I’d buy one as long as they aren’t 100 frickin grand
Weren’t Fiesta STs designed by Germans? They love to over complicate stuff
Just looked it up, apparently you Americans have your STs made in Mexico 👀 when the rest of the world gets the German made ones. But yes German design
@@HaydenSmedley German design put together by Mexicans? 👀
They are variable cams and need locked , and no you dont need the whole case , the case you bought covers many ford and Peugeot models also citroen , you sir purchased a ford timing KIT not a kit pesific to the car , witch would have cost about 30 dollars
2 pairs of vise grips and some ingunity and its done.... Think oitside the box....
Just did this job last week. Kit less then $40 on Amazon. Time 3 hours. It's actually a super easy job.
It actually didn't end up being that bad I was just really upset and felt like uploading this anyway!
Yep the 40 dollar timing tool set really setting you back, not to mention the shitty aftermarket timing parts you’re using.
I didnt say it set me back its just annoying, also Gates is not a no name brand lol
wow i thought it was a subi but a ford come on.
Specialty tools, one time use sockets, torque to yield fasteners, etc... if I ever run into an automotive engineer, they're gonna need some specialty tools to remove some boots from their "trunk"
Yep I felt that not motivated but I have to part lol😂
Cries in Audi 2.8...
Your biggest mistake is circled on the front grille.
not at all why its “so complicated”
Seems daunting but once you lock out the crank and then the cams it’s not too bad
I feel you on this. I’m a Ford man myself. I like their products but this is B.S. I have to say though, it’s not just Ford that does this. There are quite a few companies of which to total I’m not sure but there are many. I hope your project went smoothly.
1. Probably could have rented those tools 2. Should have bought a mazda so this wouldnt happen in the first place 3. If it was a mazda it would have been a simpler job cuz mazda uses older, proven tech
You know Mazda does this stuff too right?
Ummm my Mazda 3 had an engine bay that was full of parts that read "FoMoCo"..... know what that means, it's really just a damn Ford.
Why are you crying! They have given you the right to repair, You just have no mechanical abilities 😅😅😅
Yes he doesn’t lol
Older simple cars value is increased each model year.
FORD? 🫣 Fix Or Repair Daily. 🙄
First On Race Day
That's all of the ford 4 (and 3) cylinders anymore. It is a pain but I believe it's more precise as it is infinitely adjustable as opposed to pins/keys.
You bought one of the smallest USDM FWD cars with a turbo, your problem is lack of room to work, not the special tools required. The confined space is why they needed to engineer anything special for you to purchase on top of the car itself. Buy a RWD car and enjoy some wiggle room.
RIGHT ON THE MONEY 😂
Or if you can't afford to pay someone else to fix your jalopy which is way too new to be having issues you should probably be buying a Toyota carolla
A timing belt is part of normal maintenance 👍
exactly
@@CornerAfterCorner a task you were probably warned about if you did research before purchasing this car. I was warned about it when I purchased my MS6, but I still bought it anyway and I will hold my tongue when I feel the urge to complain. Cause some things are worth the trouble for smiles/gallon.
Gotta love being broke
Needing special tools is not a right to repair issue. The tools are available, you just have to buy them and know how to do the work and want to do the work.
Had an '85 Dodge Ram Full-size/Half ton Prospector edition. At 6'2" 250 I could sit on the wheel well in the doghouse & comfortably maneuver & work on every part of that engine. Nowadays they have shit crammed in so tight, I can't get my hand in there & move, let alone repair any of it.
Welcome to FORD!!!
Well at least Ford never glued on body parts like doors and such.
Why did Audi use 2 seperate top arms instead of a single whishbone?
Yea and they use BOTH JOINTS as the pivot point... Same thing for the lowers. They never changed that design either they are still made like that!
@@CornerAfterCorner just seems strange they did it this way, maybe a single top wishbone caused styling limitations? I know the cheaper Audi's use a poorer McPherson strut.
