Eutopia - the world we dream

What is the Eutopia project? We tell to spread a present of hope, sustainability, beauty and innovations that make us, our pockets and the environment feel good: ecovillages, travelers, conscious lifestyles, urban regeneration projects, alternative educational projects. Stories that sometimes seem like utopias, but that we will discover exist and are already reality so we will bring these stories and interview their creators.
ZEGG: 100 people living together
Ninety minutes by train from Berlin, outside the town of Belzig, is ZEGG, the Center for Experimental Cultural Design (Zentrum für esperimentelle Gesellschaftsgestaltung).
As of 2011, ZEGG has 100 members, including 15 children.
Founded in 1991 on a former Nazi sports camp and East German secret police facility, ZEGG has regenerated the land and buildings with an ecological sewage treatment plant, carbon-neutral heating, thoroughly insulated buildings, and organic gardens.
ZEGG’s members believe that the life force of humanity, including our capacity for building a sustainable society, will only be liberated when we learn to take a non-possessive approach to sexuality.

Even if you purchase a traditional home you can use these ideas on any existing home to make it greener for the next generations. Its knowledge worth learning and sharing, very beautiful Architecture and Greener than the majority of homes in production.

It's just so sad that Earthships don't work as they are intended to..tires releasing toxic gasses, houses that are not adapted to the climate and weather they are in...Michael Reynolds Company (Earthship Biotecture) who is literally selling this dream of a house to you..(and he isn't even living in one himself)...obviously passive houses work and are a great opportunity to live sustainably..i just don't think you should advertise Earthships as this universal wonder they just aren't...most of the "Facts" Earthship Biotecture is promising is straight up not scientifically proven and is just said to make money...an actual working Earthship alternative with an actual scientific background without all the esoteric stuff would be great tbh...if anyone knows one please let me know!
Ive always thought it more logical to use rammed earth in place of the tire error. Most people are unaware also of the benefits of lime over concrete... Any ideas of alternative designs or resourses for more scientificly sound research or information yourself?
Looks good, but you have to consider the negative impact of solar panels and batteries elsewhere in the world where you simply don't see it. "Clean" energy isn't necessarily clean; it's basically outsourcing problems so you can feel a little better. I agree on the general footprint / resourcce use considerations though.

I get what he's saying about building with natural materials, but the solar panels alone on his roof are very toxic, same with the batteries.

I love idea of earthship, and I designed many small tiny houses like this one on PC with one idea, how to make earthship in smaller way, so it will be more affordable and faster to build. I am glad everytime I see someone else to going for it. Thank you.

I found this video hard to gauge the rooms in relation to one another….it chopped and changed from one level and one subject to another. The home itself and the concept is absolutely incredible and I love it all. For such a built up city….to use the water for homes is fantastic ❤
