Great advice, there are so many things around us to use for our witchy magic.💖

I'm not a beginner but I like to keep it simple. I do wonder what you do about burning a candle, even a tealight takes awhile to burn down and I don't like to leave candles alone. I have used birthday candles because I can do my spell and they don't take long to burn down so I can keep an eye on it.💖

Blessings! As an Appalachian folk witch (sometimes called granny witch), I use both regional witchcraft and traditional witchcraft in my practice. I appreciate this informative video! However, because witchcraft is a practice and not a religion, I feel that each witch's craft is unique to them, and no two witches will practice exactly the same way. This is what makes witchcraft so beautiful -- you create your own path by following what resonates with you and leaving behind what doesn't. Trying to put a label on every "type" of witch doesn't serve me at all, and only confuses and upsets people in the craft (in my experience). Live and let live, so mote it be ❤

By the sound of it, these books really have nothing to do with witchcraft at all and are instead trying to shove personal, fad and generational ideology and politics into the craft. Maybe there are insightful gleans but seem to be going into the abyss on the topic of witchcraft.

The book of shadows is supposed to be perfectly imperfect just like humans and nature and everything else in the cosmos. Also I am trying to learn Old Norse and both Old and modern Icelandic which has given me ideas already and I have also seen runic writing i just don't know how to translate the earliest version of Old Norse as far as runic goes. And there's actually three different styles of the elder futhark runes not limited to Swedish, Norwegian and Danish. Blessed be and stay safe

Yes, I really loved this book. I finished it about a month ago. It is packed full of info from beginners to more intermediate. It is definitely ceremonial in nature, which I like as I have been working with a lot of ceremonial magick this year. You could definitely adapt the rituals to suit your own style. It is the best in-depth spirit work book I have read to date. Loved the video ❤

So, when people talk about 'don't incorporate from a closed practice '... I've understood that to be certain Wiccan type covens, etc, where you would have to go through a study period of a year and a day before you actually get initiated into the inner circle, so to speak, of that practice. If that's the case, you wouldn't be privy to being able to appropriate anything, I would think. There is so much information out there and it just seems that if it's a closed practice, you wouldn't find any of that out in the public realm. So, in essence, I have no idea what you mean by using something from a closed practice.

I'm from Brazil, and I am a multiethnic person (Iberian-African-Amerindian descent). I usually define myself as a "polytheistic and animist witch." However, after watching your video, I realized that my practices are more aligned with Folk Witchcraft than Traditional Witchcraft. But which folklore? That's the hardest question. What can I incorporate into my practices and beliefs without appropriating from other cultures, whose people might get upset? Indeed, I have three centered devotions: to some African (Osanha) and Afro-Brazilian (a spirit that my grandparent used to worship) entities, to Greek - Roman deities (Hekate and Diana), and to the land and local spirits, both from my bio-cultural region and from my home. I consider this to be ethical, but sometimes I wonder, how can I be sure how ethical it is? It's a little bit more complicated at the ex-colonies...
