If it the renovation plan didn't displace the club, I would personally prefer the renovation...but a new build may provide more freedom on innovation and landmark status. Keep Old Trafford for academy, Women's team, etc.

😂 The Glazers are the majority owners of Man Utd, but they have no interest in either of the plans proposed, they're obviously waiting for Sir Jim Ratcliffe to buy the rest of their sheres for many billions. Man Utd are the biggest club in England period. And they need a new stadium or renovate Old Trafford asap. And I don't even support the club I'm Leicester supporter.

Thinking outside the box, how about demolishing OT and starting again but renting Goodison Park for a couple of seasons? Man City will never share and I don’t think it’s that far from Manchester? Just a thought, I’m sure Everton could use the money as well.

New stadium, I believe the money Sir Jim is looking to get from the government is for infrastructure investment around the stadium not the stadium it's self. Roads, trains, canal, bus services, maybe tax relief onto he project.

They should call the new stadium, TRAFFORD. Drop the the "old". Just TRAFFORD, The Theater of Dreams.

That is a BIG BIG part of home advantage - it's not just down to the home fans being a majority. Look what happened to Arsenal - moved to the Emirates, then 2 decades of virtual oblivion. United's last decade-or-so can be described/ summarised as Lacking Spirit, lacking inspiration; no sense of joy; or belief. Almost every aspect of United for many years now has felt "plastic". The more they spend on players, the more hapless the team became. The more joyless they became. Money can't buy you love/ joy. Plastic/ shallow attitude of players who all too often didn't sufficiently desire victory. Whatever hapened to authentic pride in the privilege of wearing the shirt?? We have Glazer owners who, I suspect, did not buy man U because they supported Man U - but rather, they support man U because they bought Man U. High ticket prices surely contributed to the lack of singing + chanting.........O.T. is rather like a graveyard at times. Fans no longer serve as the 12th man, by relentlessly willing the team on >BEFORE< they score.........generally only making significant noise AFTER a goal. At those prices, should we be surprised that fans expect to be entertained with goals on a plate WITHOUT those same fans doing lots of vocal donkey work and emotional effort of belief and courage when United are losing/ drawing. Please don't lets lose even more aunthenticity of United's history & spirit by shifting the goalposts......and the whole stadium.

No public money should be given to this project.. Birmingham City owners are going to fund a 3 billion project on a new stadium without help so I'm sure Manchester United are able to fund there's

Why would a government pay people who pay their workers hundreds of thousands of pounds a week, to build a stadium?

As a Liverpool fan we have slowly been renovating Anfield it's taken 10 years to renovate half the stadium, no investment in the area, no investment in public transportation and personally I'm not all that amazed by the actual development I'd say with a land that Manchester United have you are far better Just building a new stadium right by the old one. You keep your area with an updated stadium. You can always make new memories.
