Was hired with Canadian as a flight attendant but turned it down. Great company, loved the new livery although short lived. The song music in this video is pretty cheezy though omg.
Wow man that’s beautiful
Vintage Air Canada, eh! BTW, I once flew in a DC-9 from Cape Breton to Montreal to Halifax back in 1979!
Love these old videos from the good old days.
Time flies by so fast...
The times when 747s were common 😔😔😢
Worked for them in the 90s best coworkers I've ever had
I miss Canadian Airlines so much.😢
I was a flight attendant for Air Wisconsin when they became a US Airways Express. It was a well run regional carrier but you worked like a dog!
Use to be a frequent passenger when I was a kid, especially of the Canadian North division, courtesy of my father who was a Flight Service Specialist for Transport Canada at the time in Kuujjuaq. Still remember the stellar service they were giving, and still have a blanket that was gifted to me by one of their staff, I miss them dearly. No plan on forgetting them ever, and when I fly in Microsoft Flight Simulator in VATSIM, I usually either fly under Canadian or Inter-Canadien banner depending on the plane I fly :)
I loved my career at Canadi>n Holidays and I so would do it again if the opportunity presented itself again. They say “Find a job that you love and you’ll never have to work a day in your life!” It truly was irreplaceable. I miss my inside customers, my outside customers and the memories that this career afforded me. Thank you Canadi>n Airlines.
I'll never forget my two flights on Canadian 737-200. Mexico City - Toronto (stopover in Monterrey for refueling), and back. This happened back in 1998. Those were the days folks!
Where is the departure location? Vancouver?
1:30-1:40 could be a commercial... Resplendent❤
Loved the footage! i miss Canadian Airlines Alot though.
They should bring back these jets
hey Herman, working on a documentary that would like to license some of these clips or obtain any info on where the clips are from (source). Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Way before me…
Great shots of Vancouver. Loved flying on Canadian. My first flight with them was on a 737-200 and my last was a 767-300. I still have a bunch of memorabilia from them.

It was a beautiful airline company that was never given the chance to fully succeed because of the rules at the time. Air Canada was allowed to dictate what cities and routes they wanted, and the hell with any other airline that stood in its way. Air Canada was allowed to quash any competition and put them out of business, which exactly happened to Canadian Airlines. New rules now prevents that sort of thing happening again, or airlines like WestJet, and Porter probably would be out of business by now.
August of 1999 was the very first time I ever flew in any jumbo jet...it was a Canadian Airlines Boeing 767-300ER at Toronto Pearson International Airport, bound for Calgary and Vancouver, and at Vancouver International Airport bound for Toronto...both were red-eye flights! I've never flown in a jumbo jet since then!
The first time I ever boarded this aircraft was back on the morning of April 20, 1997 at Toronto Pearson International Airport...it was bound for Orlando International Airport as part of our first-ever trip to Florida! Ten days later, we went on this same aircraft again at Toronto Pearson, but it was bound for Halifax after spending ten days in Florida!
The first time I flew in a Canadian Airlines Boeing 737-200 was back on April 19, 1997 at the Halifax International Airport...it was bound for Toronto Pearson International Airport, and that was part of our ten-day trip to Central Florida and the Tampa Bay area! I flew in this aircraft again just ten days later at the Tampa International Airport, bound for Toronto Pearson!
I was on a Royal Airline 727 (maybe that one at 0:58) that suffered an atrociously hard landing coming back from Cancun Mexico with my young bride in 1995. He floated the landing and then stalled a wing, coming down hard on the starboard side main landing gear blowing BOTH tires. We had to get picked up by shuttle busses on a north end taxiway. Later, standing in line at customs we saw the flushed-faced captain and first officer come through the express line next to us... and they were both younger than we were at the time. The "Royal Treatment" as they used to call it on that airline, ha ha.
Sadly Air Canada retired their last 727 in November 1992
I never realized how reluctant the 727 was to leave the runway. Both the DL and AC 727s took a long time.
I Flew Canadian DC-10 when my family was immigrating to Canada in 1988 from EZE to YYZ. Wonderful crew and beautiful aircraft! Now I need to go and search for model aircraft!
And it's Toronto Lester. B Pearson International Airport by the way
I used to take royal back in 94 when I was in the 4th grade to go to Pearson from Halifax to see my dad
Hi Herman, I'm working on a video about Pearson Airport and would love your permission to use these clips!
What year was it ?
What year ?
1st B727`s flair n touch down was just perfect 👊
Is it just me or were they louder back then? I was around then, but forgotten how loud they seem!
Great video - taken from Silver Dart Drive?
03:12 - Wardair DC-10
Nice shots now if I can only find some video of Donaldson airways 707s in Toronto in the early 70 s found some still shots but no filming
I have travelled dozens of air lines since late 80's. I miss Wardair service.
You gotta love those 727 loud and smoky break your windows and paint your house black those were the days I live very close to a runway and they flew over our house full throttle low altitude the neighbors myself we all loved every 2nd of it. I missed the noise!!!
Beautiful colour scheme.Shame it didn’t last very long…..
I used to look out for their 747 landing at Leeds/Bradford on Mondays when i was at primary school, it was a treat visit for such a regional airport. Never been a 747 service since 33 years! I always wanted to fly on it but never managed to
This livery only really looked good on the L-1011.
And 747
The 2nd. Airplane Looked More Like a 747.
Canadian was a great company to work for . The people made the company what it was .
When I was a kid we had a house right under the approach for Dorval airport in Montreal. I'd lie out in the backyard and watch the planes come in. I could identify them by the sounds of their engines.
sangat keren... salam indinesia..🇮🇩🇮🇩🙏
This awesome video says Pt.1 is there a Pt.2 ?
Boeing 744 to Hong Kong from Vancouver. Flight CP 007 but now is AC 007
Beautiful aircraft
