The 747 in the first part of the video was named in honor of Russ Baker, founder of Pacific Western Airlines.

The business seats r pretty old school but they do look much bigger and more comfy than the business class seats of today. These seats r perfect for the classic 747s! I was expecting all new generation 747 business classes to be modern & updated.

    Thanks for replying so quickly.
I did see a few CPAir aircraft in the background of YYZ scenes.
But it's weird..many Japanese shooters also avoided ANA mohawk aircraft while shooting plenty JAL original schemes - Canada, it;s shooting AC and neglecting CP...and in hindsight, both neglected schemes proved to be the most unique. I wish I was shooting just a few years earlier! Thanks again for your great postings.

Oh here is the same video with better quality! Awesome!
This is my favorite livery on the 747-400 and on the DC-10 (and I'm from the U.S. - Seattle)!

Was this a Canadian Air promotional video, or just a bunch different stuff edited together?

Glad to hear you enjoyed the CAI aircraft video's.All these video's were shot after the airline had changed its name and identidy to Canadian Airlines International. I don't recall why a change in company name occured but my guess would be that CP reflected Canadian Pacific as being more of a regional airline as opposed to a truly international airline???

I watched all your videos..and they are fantastic!
Only one question..with all this documentation..why (it seems) were Canadian videographers in avoidance of CP Air? Virtually footage of the carrier exist and it was the most lively! Did people hate railroad association or what? I don't get it.
    Thanks for posting all these!

Service was the worst among all airlines I've flown with, otherwise, it was okay. There's always a reason why an airliners broke, so...

This is the first time anyone has every mentioned "bad service" with Canadian AL. On the contrairy...CA was always famous for friendly and excellent service.
Too bad you had a bad experience....but then there are folks whose expectations are maybe too high. Herman

Alan Lo Herman Kreimes Thnx for letting me know! I wish I had the chance to fly them but I immigrated to Canada in 2003, two years after Air Canada's acquisition of Canadian. I've never had problems with AC, but it's getting pretty boring flying them after seven times.
