Yeah I think people are too hung up on Project Zomboid. As for the other allegations, this is first I'm hearing about it. I didn't notice any kind of thing in the game. It seems fun with a lot of little details.

Those are definitely some weird stories I haven't heard yet. Anything is possible I suppose. But the game is a fun and there were only some UI issues I noticed. I think it could be polished up a little better.

Larry is correct here. I am not involved in the project at all. But it's being made by Raf somewhere in the US. The price just dropped to $75 and will eventually drop to $50.

@@MeatFish. something can be real and still be unsatisfactory. Based on what I've seen, not much has changed in a whole year. These updates are lame and don't go into explaining much. The game already has a ton of support, but I'm not seeing what the hook is yet and am gonna proceed with caution.

Great to hear you've added the shoulder swap. First person would be neat, but I can see that being a big workload and understand if it's not something you end up including. Audio is something I care a lot about being a musician as well. I learned little tricks making some of my own small games, like slightly varying the pitch of given sounds when they play so it's not noticeably repetitive. But more variations would also greatly help there. Really cool that you've implemented pathing where the zombies can jump down from buildings. Keep up the good work!

@@voidboi0 Yeah adding first person would require more animation work for example. For now ill stick to 3rd person. Maybe later down the development. Yeah audio plays a big part in games. The pitch trick sounds interesting, definitely going to experiment with that for a couple of the sounds. Thanks for the comments! I'll sent you a key when it comes out so you can see the result!

Hey great to hear from you man and welcome. I can see why people are skeptical about this from the outside, and I've done my share of calling out things I didn't like in the past (copyright video). Thankfully Raf responded well to those criticisms. As for his previous game, it doeas feel unfinished, or at least laking polish, and has been in early access for far too long imo. So the argument for basing things on his record and being skeptical is totally valid. I'm hoping wotw doesn't ecounter the same fate. But I also try reminding myself that he's one guy making passion projects and Emerge was his first game. It's not how I would plan to release my own games. It's also not how I would price my own games. But at least he appears to refund those who can't run them or had bad experiences. I'm all about being skeptical and trying to see both sides, which is why I wanted to cover your thread. I've been cheering him on as we don't have a game like wotw and I love the idea. But I'm also not on his team and want to make sure I'm hearing all sides and positioning myself on the right side of history. If it succeeds, wonderful. If it follows in the way of Emerge, then all the skepticism will be validated. I can overlook a first project being not the best. But a second one taking almost a decade and coming out still lacking polish or optimization and remaining unfinished in an early access state will be something I can't ignore.

Scam is a big claim that requires some blatant proof. But I can see why people are skeptical in this day and age at least. And I'd rather people be cautious then get burned. But hopefully Raf just continues improving and delivers us a kickass game.

I agree with you a lot here. Scams have telltale signs, but it's not ultimately confirmed till after the fact. Also totally agree with people being skeptical. I myself sure am. As for Emerge, I again agree with you. Feels unfinished and I didn't realize how long it's actually been in production. 8 years is way too long, or at least, a finished version should be released and then he can still add or fix what he wants afterward. But on the flip side, it was his first major project and I think that definitely shows. It's kinda hard to judge too harshly. But, I have to agree with you once again, that it should not be priced as high as it is. $25 is kinda crazy for a first project that still hasn't been finished after 8 years. I was en entirely different person 8 years ago. I do believe we wouldn't have Wotw without Emerge, but I'm starting to see where the skepticism is coming from about Wotw with Emerge being on his record at the current state it's in. I think you're spot on about a lot of these things falling into a grey area. I certainly don't want to mislead people or end up on the wrong side of things myself. And that's why I also stated up front, that I may be too close to this prohect to be entirely unbiased about it. But that won't stop me from still trying to find the middle ground and be open to differing opinions. Thanks for your comment!
