Nice one John In for a Penny, in for a pound 😂
Too true mate
This is the worst design ever. Skoda are rubbish.
@@asdrewwI hope that you have managed it
We need a compilation of decent pie shops 😂.
Good find on the penny. Do people still use brown sauce for coin cleaning or is there more technical stuff these days?
On those coins I just used a wire brush and brasso. They are not worth anything.
Hi John , this different mate well done
@stevecoppin4278 This is how I started my channel 10 years ago, would you believe 😆
I've recently been sent a metal detector by Dr Otek to review. I've played with it on a beach in Wales this week and found a few bits and pieces without any knowledge of what any of the settings mean. Maybe we could get together sometime and do a bit and you could show me how to use it properly? 😊
Yes of course I can. Just Message me when you are free
@@johnpawson7400 fantastic 😁👍
Interesting John can ask what would you recommend for someone wanting to give it a go
@peter236uk1 Most importantly get permission from the land owner or join a club. I am not sure about detecting beaches in Cornwall. Join the beach detecting forums on facebook. Any more questions please ask.
Morning John, I can see how that can become addictive. You had some interesting finds there, maybe this could be a new mini series. 👍
Morning Nick. This is how I started my channel many years ago.
Very interesting. Do you have to ‘share’ these with the farmer or take to a museum?
Very briefly. If the finds are classed as treasure, the F.L.O Museum has to be notified and the farmer. Then if it is worth money it is shared between the farmer an finder.
I’ve cycled past there countless times & didn’t know it was a museum, so wonder if it’s a recent thing. I think you will find the actual base was on the land across the road. Where the industrial site is. In Pollington, if you had taken the left turn to Heck, just before the sports fields, it’s up there. I believe, although not seen it, there is a memorial to the base & staff. From the M62, you could still identify the hangers, although not sure if they are still standing.
@martinowl Thanks for that I will go and explore. The museum has opened recently in the Land Army building.
Just looked on google maps. Looks like the hangars have been demolished but can clearly see where the runways were.
@@martinowl They are shown on OS maps as well
That was a very interesting exhibition John rounded off with a scone, perfect. 🤞
Your Classic would have looked well next to those Jeeps Nick
Hi John WoW just look at them willy's jeeps brilliant , what a cracking day out well done mate , ride safe
Hi Steve, all of the people there were so chatty and very enthusiastic, it was great
Looked liked a great day out John 😊🤗
Really enjoyed it Graham
Hi John, I think the air base was used as a borstal and then a prison after the war,
Really, never knew that.
Nice run out John and what a grand wee place, as you are interested in military and obiously RE meteor, classic etc basically the 350's things, have you ever looked at Coastrider Scotland, he has a channel interestingly like yours where he bimbles around the countryside pointing out very interesting things, he also has a willy's jeep which he puts video's out on runs out in southern Scotland and Northumbria. keep the videos coming mate, ATB Big Dave
@davidginn8448 I have watched him, and would love a WWII bike 🏍 😀
I could see you with one for sure
Dad's army was film mostly near munford and Thetford the dads army museum is in Thetford and captin manering statue by the river there
@theadventuresofbellatheenf4627 Thanks for that, if I am ever down there, it will be a place to visit.
In my opinion and having ridden with you John you are a very safe rider and you have nothing to worry about .
Thanks for that Gary, and yes we will meet at Squires, I think I am free all week.
Let me know when you are going to squires again John I’ll try to meet you there
Have you built a viewing platform 😊
Could stick a chair on the garage roof I guess lol
I'm halfway there, i.e., I managed to remove the burnt-out bulb and order a new one. Without your video, I wouldn't make it, so I'm joining the group of those who are grateful to you. Funny thing, the factory manual doesn't say anything about how to get to this bulb or the front turn signal. bless you!!
I am so glad to have helped ☺️
Cheers fella
@@MrDamianByrd Happy I have helped
This was a fantastic video! Very educational and informative!
@@TheNorfolkThunderbolt Thank you. I really enjoyed walking around and learning more about the place.
That was really interesting John, well done. 👍
@thesilverfoxtravels6653 It was a great little adventure around there and I learned a lot
Very poignant John 😓, great video 🤗
@@GrahamHughes-uu1gi I thought the same as I was walking around there
Amazing all the abandoned airfields...even have a few in different areas of Canada...mostly used for training purposes during the war I believe.
@@wendingourway There were Canadians who were stationed at Burn. I learnt a lot during my walk around Burn.
The new tarmac has been down about 3 years now. It was a tad bumpy prior to that. The bench & board is a relatively recent addition. Will try & have a cycle up to it, to have a read. I think the legs will manage a steady there & back. Didn’t realise that’s how the runways got there numbers. My lad who is in the RAF, has never mentioned it. Kids!
When you cycle round there are little boards with info as well. thank you for letting me know about the sidings next to railway line. Comment from an earlier video.
Morning John this is just so interesting thanks for doing this video for us 😀
@@Ainsworth-Rider This is very near where I live, I have always wanted to have a walk round and new little about it.
Good Morning John , I have to say John this was very interesting today , take care mate
Glad you enjoyed it. I had a great day walking around the Drome.
Lovely scenery John , the R E Meteor is made for the back lanes and roads , they give a tranquility of peace with just the note of the single cylinder engine 😀 😊 I bought a Meteor in June for the same reason and i enjoy every minute when im out on it , Wonderful bikes , Subbed & Liked 👍 John .
I cannot describe how I feel when I ride mine, I just think that it is a charming bike.
Evening John 😊 the incident had nothing to do with you it was the car's fault, and as far as I could see, there was no damage done and your riding is perfect well compared to Foxy's and mine 😅😅👍 really good video and I hope you managed to get your dry chain wax 😀
Thank you, yes I got my chain lube
H i John , Yet again another belting video mate , i really enjoy your ride out,s in the dales please keep the coming , John that was completely out of your control, take care
Thanks 👍will do and more to come
Hi John you should continue with your ride outs, it wernt your fault and am sure George doesn't hold you responsible, keep em coming 🤗👌
@@GrahamHughes-uu1gi Thanks Graham
nice little video as always. keep them coming. live your best life. take care john. . and as far as the miss hap. its not your fault. when on rides out were responsible for our self's. and don't feel Quilty. your a good and responsible rider. stay happy
@mattslife7874 Thanks Matt 😊
A very nice video John .
@@chrissteer9215 Thanks Chris
Some people think getting on a bike needs to be a TT…I can only assume it’s due to poor journalism in the mainstream media….sadly some people are shallow, easily led and gullible. Videos like yours show a different way👍
Thank you, I am getting older now and love life in the slow lane
I can understand you feeling some responsibility for what happened to George but you can’t control everything. I prefer to ride alone so I just have myself to worry about, whether it be an incident or taking a wrong turn. Got my latest helmet from Speedstyle shortly after you got yours. Was looking for a budget flip up lid. Actually bought the MT flip up, love it so far, very comfortable. Agree the chap in there is a nice guy to deal with.
Thanks for your comments, I am sometimes very hard on myself, I do try to use that store as it is local.
Morning John, I wouldn’t feel bad about that incident as it was out of your control and I’m sure he doesn’t blame you for it anyway. Keep doing what you do and enjoy the rides and company. Cheers👍
Thank you for your kind words Nick
I dont understand why on GIVI site it says that this piece in not compatible with 2023 Meteor
@TheWealthyOstrich Neither do I, all I can say is that it fitted my bike perfectly
Morning John 😊 looks like a very nice slice of Lemon Drizzle lovely 👍
Good morning! it was lovely
Thanks John, a very relaxing short video and I liked your choice of music, could have watched a lot more 👍
@@5dTraveller Lovely comment, thank you.
Love the meteor!
As do I
Lovely little back road sir. Enjoyed the calm of the music and feel it gave to the ride.😊
Thank you, I thought that going to a Buddhist retreat needed calm music
Nice video John but, I have to say that I'm not a fan of embedded music in "bimbling" videos - I would much rather listen to the bike's engine.
Ok, thanks
Hi John , You have to take advantage of getting out on your bike when the weather allow's , And tbf you have some lovely back roads where you live , take care & ride safe
Absolutely
Some great lanes in that area, haven’t ridden that one yet out of Millington. Will have to give the cafe a visit at some point. I reckon the Hall would have looked impressive when in its prime. The white bird was a pheasant. Lots around there. I think (could be wrong), that the Warter Estate , not far from there breeds pheasants.
Lovely area and the pheasant was a joy to see, and they taste nice 😅
@@johnpawson7400 agree with that! lol.
😂😂😂@@johnpawson7400
In those circumstances it's best to come to a complete standstill. Drivers see a moving vehicle as jousting for space, and fair game. A stationary vehicle means it will entirely their fault if they hit you, and they generally back off.
@@borderlands6606 Great comment
That sort of driving is all too common on single track roads, particularly up here in The Highlands where it's usually tourists not locals. You can try reporting him but since nobody was injured and no damage was done it's unlikely to go any further, if George had been hurt or there was an insurance claim that would be a different matter. I was nearly wiped out last week by a lunatic overtaking on a blind bend, he collided with a minibus trying to avoid me so I'm very lucky to be here. In this case the bus company reported the driver so until the case is dealt with I can't show the footage. If I'd been on a fast bike or in a car there would have been at least one fatality and many others injured. We all need to be very careful these days with so many stressed out people in a hurry on the roads. Keep taking it easy, Mick
@@5dTraveller Thanks for that Mick, Ride Safe my friend
Hi John now thats a cracking bit of kit tbh
@stevecoppin4278 I think so Steve.
In fairness to the driver the video shows they were as far over to their left as possible. Another point is you could have stopped if you were feeling 'hemd in' I think the driver and you need to NOT assume each other takes responsibility for the other. Love the meteor by the way. xxx
@@sanatandharma4435 fair comment
Morning John 😊 nice bit of kit. I was worried for your table. I was expecting the glass to explode, but tea was made, and all is fine 🙂
