      I've been here since 2000. I saw many big changes, events- 09/11, Hurricane 🌀 Charlie 2004, George Zimmerman, Casey Anthony 📂 , Pulse: 06-12-2016 🌈 , traffic, higher HOA/Insurance rates. Corruption, graft, misconduct in local county-city governments. If you make over $100000.00 & have a 2 income household 🏡 it's good.

      @@DavidLLambertmobile well I'm moving from Colorado and they've had many more mass shooting incidents including at lgbtq nightclubs. The prices and weather are both better in Orlando and yeah I make well over six figures just on my own. The HOA fees do concern me but I probably just won't buy a condo or townhome. Thanks for the response, I definitely can use all the pointers I can get.

    The services industry does not need to see a wage increase. These jobs aren’t careers. What will sustain the orlando economy is blue collar work. These service industries need to be bolstered with programs that help transition their employees into technical or trade schools. There will always be someone to be a waiter or host. But we are in desperate need for “blue collar” work.

    When they talk about adding "1 cent" to sales tax, it is propaganda. It is actually 1%, which would be about a 15% increase to the existing sales tax. e.g., 6.5% to 7.5% (this is general, some areas have even higher sales tax within the area)

  • @dca3092
    @dca3092 28 дней назад

    All these upgrades are great…if better paying jobs come to the area. If not, what’s the point? It’ll just be another Miami (where I grew up) where the only people who can enjoy the city and all that it has to offer are the tourist and the rich. Real estate has skyrocketed in 4 years and homes that were in the low 200s pre-pandemic are now going for just over the 300s. No one working in the parks or the leisure and hospitality industry in general has seen their pay go up 50%.

    I moved here to Orlando, 3 years ago. I agree with everything you said. Downtown Orlando needs to be leveled up and more of a downtown feel. It’s a very boring area. Needs to be things to do for all ages! I’m excited for the changes here. I’m in lake nona and this area is not what i expected it to be 😢

    Orlando should be called leisure city the jobs with good wages should be geared towards construction, trucking/transportation,natural solar energy, theme parks, hospitality/ farming and crops restaurants and its not the highway/road infrastructures thats the problem its that everybody has to commute to jobs that pay higher wages inside of orlando if they created jobs they pay good in there home area you wouldnt have so much traffic yes bus services especially in the burbs is a must and that would help too and do something with the housing market and make it more affordable again and the food and gas prices are rediculous too but yea they thought the homeless crisis was cute in florida because its a warm place to live but nawh that shit was ugly and sickening who wants to see people on the streets like its zombie land or something it could be a much better place if everybody is working and thriving making the Dub zero a better place to live, man las vegas is looking and doing better than the big O little o right now!!! Orlando has a long way to go for it to be considered the best city in america and you know orlando people are not brightest either the less money people make the less educated they are!!!

    We just signed a contract a couple of weeks ago to build Falcon model by Toll Brothers in Bronson Peak. I haven't yet been able to visit it since we live in Colorado currently, though my wife has. I get to come see it in a couple of weeks. I don't think it is the most amazing floorplan. We were kind of desperate with options, but we are making this work out. I wish there were his and hers master closets, a much larger pantry, a formal dining room (the flex room is too small to be one) and a more grand entry. The Glen model at Weslyn Park was much better. We tried to move forward with that one, but there were no lots left that it could fit on.

      I appreciate this! All valid critiques of the plan; I think for the price, it checks 99% of things I get asked about on a regular basis when it comes to new construction, hence my candid comment. Hope the build turns out great!! Got some lovely folks from Colorado coming down as well. No more shoveling!

    Originally born in Winter Park, and raised in Sanford. I would really like to see the Greater Orlando area get rid of the trashy section 8 housing, and the socioeconomic parasites who live off welfare refusing to work. It would really make Orlando the best city in the United States. Clean it up, bring in more forward thinking companies to stimulate economic growth, and diversify it from primarily Leisure & Hospitality. I'd like to see Orlando become the new Silicon Valley. I still got faith in Orlando though. A true focus on developing a Public Transport system is a necessity.

Orlando.gov is far from perfect but if you are educated or have a career, plan; healthcare-education-law enforcement-industry, you'll be ok. RE 🏠 in metro Orlando has 📈 . A small $110,000.00 property in 2008 is worth around $320000 now. 2024.
