      @@gtsoutdoors5895 I liked mine too until I shot it lol. The bore must have been a bit more wore or just larger for caliber than I thought, the groups I got where not great, not only that the bolt was so damn sticky I damn near had to motor it open every other shot. It also wasn't pretty enough to be a wall hanger haha. Its funny cause I always wanted one as a kid and still think they can be great guns but the one I got was more a chore to shoot than a pleasure.

  • @paperman9708
    @paperman9708 6 месяцев назад

    I use the #4 version of these shells and get MUCH tighter patterns than this. I'm actually really surprised. At 35 yards that paper should have had 3x the pellets on it. Why didn't you try different chokes? Sometimes I think these super tight turkey chokes mess up the wad on some of these turkey loads and you get bad performance. Too tight of a choke can produce erratic, very open patterns. I know someone that swears by improved cylinder and they proved it to me by patterning their shotgun with me on massive scraps of cardboard. They were getting fantastic results. I forget the make of shell but it was #4 shot. It was really pricey/uncommon though. I noticed when I used an improved modified choke in a 32" barrel I was getting fantastic grouping out to 50 yards. MUCH tighter than with one of those silly super long extra full gimmick turkey chokes. I think the choke was ripping the wad apart or gripping/squishing the wad too much so it didn't stay together or perform as designed with the shot long enough or something. It would also throw the shot in a "line" that would rotate depending on range instead of a more circular pattern. I noticed with the super x 3" #4 even an 18.5" cylinder bore patterned decently at 30 yards. I was actually really surprised. Different shells/barrels/barrel lengths/chokes all add up to weird things sometimes. I have just found that some wads seem to do decent work if you let them do their thing. I have found that I was sometimes wrong about always going with a tighter choke when trying to turkey hunt at longer ranges.

    Not exactly awesome. I took the scales.off of mine and coated the blade.with OD Green KG Gunkote and made about a two inch snakeknot lanyard from micro cord so I'd have a pinky grip, and put a Cold Steel C-clip on instead of the factory one. I just wish it was made from harder steel so I didn't have to be sharpening it all the time.
