A "blinding flash of the obvious" here about why my roll is so "bipolar". That practicing rolling from the setup position is building the wrong muscle memory. Going to be practicing this from now on. Many thanks.

This happened to me my first couple of times out to the point of exhaustion. The harder I tried to get my kayak not to turn left, the harder it continued to turn left. If I begin to turn a direction that I don't want to turn, should I correct it by paddling on the inside of the turn I want it to make? That is, if I start turning hard left, should I start paddling on the right?

Do you have to make the gay noises when doing offside C strokes?

I do like the out the back drain system but unless this was made to be a pedal kayak and dropped to about 5k price then it would never be competitive

Congratulations EJ! Looks like you also beat several boaters that were about half your age: impressive result! I remember first reading your posts on Rec.Boats.Paddle, several boat brands ago, with you writing about working on Wavesport kayaks and now several decades later, you have yet another kayak brand. And I thought Corran had swapped brands often! ;-) All fun aside, great to see you not only enjoy kayaking but excel at it as well!

Everyone teaches to keep paddle vertical ..they do it during the lesson but after the lesson i don't see anyone doing it.....go figure....what's up

Hey EJ, been an admirer of you for years. But I often wonder, why nearly nobody talks about body mechanics in kayaking? Is it because they only know the technique but not the anatomical application? If paddlers understand the Anatomy of kayaking. It would make a huge difference in their learning curve. Been working for me for decades. And is how I teach it.

It’s hard to see what all of the paddle positions are because they’re in the water.

This looks amazingly fun. This is the type of real world wave that rivers are full of. In a single rapid you could easily surf 3 or 4. What’s incredible is that such a narrow hull with remains so loose and grindy. I’d love to see what the large can do and have one available in plastic.

Hmmm, for such a cool boat, would definitely want an actual adjustable seat… everyone is going to want to try it and adjust to fit them. $3k for ‘glue it down yourself’ is a hard sell.
