This made me remember when someone in my high school died, I believe he was battling cancer and was in another classroom than me. Everyone around me and in school started saying their condolences and huge texts about him. A friend of mine didn't exactly know how to deal with it, because people we knew never met the guy was in shambles. I said to him. "I'm not sad because his existence didn't affect me, so his death didn't impact me. Thats why I didn't think I have the right to write texts about him. I never once met him. I can't understand what his absence causes, the closest thing I can understand is what their sadness may feel like. And i know it's not mine to feel"

It would been fine if she just said " im going to use my connections to get the loan, now that i realize its importance" instead of going on about her personal merit is going to secure the loan. Like just mean what you say. Lying to cover up an ugly truth is more ugly then just the truth.

I do remember that Joe Brumm who is the creator of Bluey did work as an animator on Charlie and Lola. I remember that Bluey was my comfort show that I ever watched. The show had amazing and wonderful music that you can listen to when you sleep. Bandit and Chilli are amazing cartoon parents to this show. The show teaches good life lessons to kids and parents as well.

In the 1920s defensive there was already there. The fire nation had plenty of vehicles like steamboats, tanks, the drill, factories, and airships (granted they stole the idea) that’s what we had or more than us in what would be the 1800’s. I feel that after the war more people focused on science because the war prioritized, well the war. The earth nation was defending themselves not really innovating, the fire nation innovated but for the purposes of war, the water tribe was just war-torn, and the air nomads were killed off. After the war the nations started to exchange information similar to our would leading to an Industrial Revolution. Also there were inventors that may have helped or given ideas like the Mechanist and Sokka. Also I feel like different forms of bending would make it easier. Fire benders can create electricity and earthbenders can make buildings using both earth and metal beams.

This episode came out of nowhere and hit me HARD. I'm divorced, 42, with a 9 year-old son who lives with me. About once a year, we share a meal with his mother. I always knew it wasn't easy for him, but seeing everything from Rudy's perspective was crushing to me.

While this dinner party wasn't the best idea, his parents are good people who are trying to be there for their son

I can def see how the show set up aang and katara. She watched him become a man. I would agree with you at the beginning but as aang grew so did katar's view of him.i am a zuko and katara fan myself but i see how the shoe set it up

These specials have inspired me to come up with a fanfic in my head. It’s about Rudolph and Clarice getting married and having a son. They name him Randy named after the character from a Christmas Story. And he has a green nose.

This episode is one that I think a lot about, chiefly because it's one of the biggest turning points in rhe show for Daria's characterization and the shift in tone from "Daria reacts to (snarks at) the world" to "how/why Daria reacts to (snarks at) the world and the issues therein". Up to this point, it's been apparent that despite her attempts to hide it, Daria is more reactive and sensitive to her surroundings, but so long as she's able to be the smartest person in the room or snark her way through, she doesn't have much of a problem. This, however, is one of the first times, that we've seen, where her standards for the world and her innermost desires come into conflict with each other. Daria is someone who, paradoxically, doesn't like the idea of one being judged solely on their appearance, but also is committed to presenting only one specific image to people outside of her most trusted circle. And her decision to ultimately continue to project that image, even though damn near everyone around her telling her nonsensical it is, demonstrates her ability to reconcile those two things, or simply reevaluate her perspective in a way where those two things could be compatible. There's just a lot to think about when it comes to what "Through a Lens Darkly" says about personal identity and what it means to the individual vs. how everyone else sees it. I, personally, still think about it because it's one of the best episodes of Daria, but I don't think it has a satisfying resolution. Feels like Daria is essentially saying, "We shouldn't be judged for how we look, but god forbid I ever look like...them." Just feels contradictory. On another note, Jane was on a roll this episode and damn near every line she had shows why she's the GOAT of this series.

I remember the first time i watched it. It's the episode that convinced me to continue watch SU when i was little. I made a good choice

I think it's a good point of character development. Being a teenager is often about learning and testing identities and social rules and I view that as what's happening here. This arc shows Daria what happens when she tests her friendship in a really emotional way in the act of putting what she wants in the moment over what her friend already has. Tom is learning about loyalty, and (eventually) just because she's interested or willing doesn't mean she's the right fit, although I admit I'm a bit bothered that both girls don't bounce him immediately for not adhering to pre-established relationship rules (this is par for teens, though, I'd say). Jane is learning what she's willing to deal with in terms of friendship and her relationships, which I hoped at the time would serve her well in the future. ....Daria and Jane working through this and being able to continue their friendship gave me a lot of hope for something happening in my life when this originally aired back in the day; mine didn't work out either, but Daria, babe, you're very lucky that you got to keep your friend.

Imho that kind of makes her feel a bit more relatable and realistic. There isn’t a single one among us who hasn’t felt one way about something until it happens to us and then had the tables turn and we might then face plant right into hypocrisy. I prefer characters who don’t always make the best decisions because people don’t always make the best decisions. At the end of the day she’s supposed to be a teenager, and not a role model. Having her do bad things and try to justify them or run face first into consequences is far more interesting than if she was always consistent and correct. That just comes off as preachy and inauthentic.

My issue with this is that the friendship with Jane was important to Daria so why sabotage it?

It goes to show that every design has some sort of flaw. But this definitely made Daria feel a bit more normal and social than what she claims to be
