OH. MY. GOSH. YES!!!! FREAKING IMPROVISED WEAPONS ARE MY FAVORITE!! 😭😭😭 I've only written a couple, but one of my random improv weapons was a stop sign! And also I agree that the incredibles is a good example of teamwork fighting at its best! There's so much fun involved with improvised weapons and teamwork! @@Rosemadi.artist Same! The main problem I was giving reasons why characters would fight each other before this video (It's a fighting game, but I love interactions between characters). One character I had the most problem writing interactions and coming up with a moveset was a character named Angela, she's an angel pacifists who's ability is to put people to sleep with Clouds. She uses a surprisingly heavy, but soft pillow to keep distance between her and to opponents. Since she doesn't fight or have beef with anyone on the roster, it's been harder to come up with a reason why she would fight others especially other nonviolent characters and her girlfriend, to the point I was thinking about change her girlfriend's animation to make her play fight with her instead, but I'm still thinking about reasons why she would fight others pacifist tho. Sorry for the lol comment I really like talking about my character's lol (💧-ᴗ-)

No this is super good! Like honestly motivation is everything, and the fact that you had enough self awareness to know that Angela needs a strong motivation to fight, is a good sign overall about your writing abilities! Anyways that's cool that you're making a fight game! How are you doing this? Through unity or something? I always wanted to make a fight game lowkey high key so I'm curious how yours will turn out!

@@Rosemadi.artist You should! I really like your characters and I think it'd be cool to see the in a fighting game. I'm using Godot Engine since It's a open source So I edited the Engine's code and add plugins/add-ons to speed up the process. I'm also planning to animate the characters in a game/animation program called Smack Studio to speed up the process (it's kinda like a mix of Smash bros and an animation project in one!) There's also a couple of other engines you can use if you don't want to make a game from scratch like M.u.g.e.n, Ikemen go, and Castagne Engine. I'm using Castagne Engine since it's connected to godot, but I recommend ikemen go since there's a lot more tutorials on it then Castagne and Ikeman is an improved version of Ikeman. The on grip I have with ikemen go is the fact their uses a different coding language (Google's coding language) but it's perfect easy to learn. Also also, I've been reading The Trifold Article and I really wanted to know if I could animation a few characters like Jioni since I think it'd be so cool to see how they'd fight in a fighting game

That's so crazy cause I literally have a tab on my phone that's been sitting for months 😭😭 it was like some kind of Godot tutorial! I really want to learn it now and I think a fighting game would be fun! I just need to finish the other billions of random projects I've got going on lmao 😭😭😭 but yeah you just confirmed that Godot is truly the way to go! Consuming media is always the best way to visualize fight scenes! But I'll also say that you for sure developed a skill, cause being able to write them, storyboard them, visualize them or whatever is just an amazing thing to have! I feel like it's easier for me to draw them, but writing them is a fun challenge! Anyways thanks for watching!

That's for sure super cool! And your characters sound pretty fun and interesting, but omg there is for sure a correlation between the characters personality and the weapon they choose, and if they go through different experiences throughout the story like your character, of course the weapon changes to reflect that! That's a really good point you brought up haha! I also have a character who just doesn't use a weapon, her fists are all she needs 😭😭 and tbh, characters like that are so entertaining to me!

She is a literal fire, not by her will. Fire is the weakest element in their magic system, so Mei prefers to down opponents morally, like "lol missed" "damn, I'm fire ghost, tricking you for 5 minutes, are you toddler?" "noo miss, please don't throw a chair at me, you'll be ashamed"; while planning her escape

Jenny, young exorcist, student, good at earth magic. Yes, that ghost-ish beings are simular to demons, so they need special people to talk 'em out of houses with words or magic. Jennifer is caring mom (15, not literally) person, so in fights with living people, she tries to keep balance between "I can't hurt them too bad, but I need to hurt 'em". Especially in their time - early beginning of 20th century

Oof yeah that can be pretty tricky! But what gives me solace is the fact that there's a bunch of characters with basic designs, like Finn from adventure time or Eugene from Hey Arnold, but at the end of the day, what carries them is their personality 😭😭 so regardless of design, I think their characterization and writing should at least do some of the heavy lifting!

Thats true that there are no rules when it comes to creativity, but once you learn the basics of writing and the elements of art/principles of design it's like big oof, "I can see everything I'm doing wrong and now I gotta think harder and practice more" you know what I mean? Omg for sure! One weird thing I found myself doing: I basically wrote the story premise I wanted to do and then kinda randomly put my OCs with no stories into specific roles 😭😭 I can't describe it but I have a backlog of OCs that I just throw into roles like actors for a movie. Next thing I know, they fit in perfectly as if they've always been there 🤣

@Rosemadi.artist lollll that's so funny because whenever I actually come up with a good storyline I usually yeet my main oc into the protagonist role and call it an AU. It's pretty fun because this particular oc was heavily based off of 15 year old me and each AU I write is like a peek into who I was at that point in time. The oldest stories I've written with this oc seem like a completely different person from how she is (and how I am) currently.

Oh yeah! AUs are totally a thing, and with AUs there's no real reason to switch up the main character haha okay now I get it! Honestly I want to make an AU but I have so many project ideas I need to work on 😭 anyways how many AUs/stories do you have? And also is your AU main OC like a self insert, or are they completely like you but just have a different name? Does that question make sense or is that convoluted? Lol

@Rosemadi.artist lol, I'd say probably like 7 or 8? I've done genres like sci fi, zombie apocalypse, fantasy, and steam punk, but I also have AUs based on aesthetics from Pinterest like dark academia, and I even made a fictional town in the southwestern US because I was really into the aesthetics of Oasis Springs from the sims 4. Also, with my main oc, she started out with my personality and a lot of aspects of my own past dialed up to 11, but I've since changed her backstory and some of her traits to whatever fits the story I'm trying to tell best. So in a way she's a self insert but she's also not (if that makes any sense? sorry for the super long response)

@gloomyscribbles no this is good, I'm always curious what type of AUs people create, I can only think of one and it's basically if one of my characters was evil instead of good lmao. But I like the idea of how you suggested with the settings changing themselves and not necessarily always just the character!
