Richard Tandy was something else. This is some great music. My all time favourite keyboardist - between him and Richard Wright of Pink Floyd. Both are great.

I have to admit, I don't get what all the shouting is about when it comes to Roy and Jeff working together. Jeff was absolutely right to advance his own ideas with ELO.

Sometimes (or often) less is more. Out of the Blue was a double (just about), but might have benefited from some editing and trimming. The shorter, curated albums are more considered, concise, and punchy. Long albums can sometimes wallow in their own pity, but when they are good, can work well [Pink Floyd were masters at this] and were popular in the early to mid 1970s especially, when prog rock was in its heyday, but sometimes it's nice to have a more compact, punchy, concise album, like a book of chapters, with a variety of tempos and song moods. I think the released version of Time is all the better for that, and probably sold more as a result.

Lowering the speed to .90 makes this sound perfect to my ears. Otherwise, just way too fast.
"Time" was never really released as a double album. Those three extra songs were released as B-sides of singles.
Good song though not sure what’s going on with snare. Doesn’t sound like Bev. I think people who worry about Roy Wood’s legacy because of his short time in ELO forget he was in The Move and Wizzard and wrote one of the two greatest Christmas songs of all time.
The audio is RESTORED, so some bits of the original sound are going to be missing, especially when the original sound is still not clear enough. (It had every radio wave on top of the song) Like the first verse of the vocals is clearly done by Roy, but in this restoration it sounds like Jeff was doing the vocals.

@@misfit2022 I have no idea, you have to ask the uploader for the tool. Having AI does not mean it's good at these jobs, still needs fine tuning.

This actually isn't terrible. I understand why this was never released, but I'm glad I finally got to hear it. Maybe I can comprehend the abrupt tempo changes because of my secret love for Loser Gone Wild, but I digress.

The album "Time" was already shortened by three songs, but "Secret Messages" was shortened by eight songs. With this great "Beatles Forever". I saw this concert in 1981 at the Spectrum in Philadelphia. What a great show and a wonderful memory. Saw Jeff Lynne's ELO at Radio City Music Hall in 2016... now have tickets to see them on the farewell tour in Washington D.C. in September at the Capital One Arena. Been a fan for 47 years! Long live Jeff Lynne!!

I was at that concert in the Spectrum, also. I was a freshman at Villanova at the time. I've also seen them both in Denver and Tampa a few years ago, with my daughter who is also a fan (because of me.) And yes, I have tiks for their farewell tour in October here in Denver. Been a Jeff Lynne fan from the day I heard Sweet Talkin' Woman on the radio in 1977 (8th grade. ) Richard Tandy's recent passing also hit me personally.
Much like the Beatles where they're all good solo but don't come close to the magic of their collaboration. It's the same with these two. I like ELO & Roy's solo work. It doesn't have the magic of their collaboration in The Move.
