Lovely sounds! You should take a listen to some Soviet ER2 trains sometimes. Those are the sounds I'm so used to and which sound quite interesting. No fancy electronic controls there, just raw power. They remind me of a few DC trains of Japan as well.
T5 is the exact Dr. Yellow I saw just right after they announced it’s retiring. I’m very sad these trains are about to retire but at least they lasted a little while longer than 20 years and T5 will last another couple years.
The asynchronous modulation in Type 1 seems to change according to the output of VVVF.
Yes, that's typical Hitachi's configuration - and in this file seems to behave somewhat similarly to DSC.

一つ質問したいことがあります。tipe2と3はユニポーラ領域(特に同期モードに切り替わる直前)にキャリア周波数を中心とした2つのスペクトルがはっきり現れているように見えますが、tipe1は特に同期モードに切り替わる直前、そのキャリア周波数中心のスペクトルが少なくなっているように見えます。これは設定の違いによるものでしょうか?それとも録音環境やそれ以外の要因によるものでしょうか?長文失礼しました。
仰る中だと「設定の違い」が要因になりますね。おそらくType 1のユニポーラ変調時の波形は単純な正弦波でないものを用いて生成されているのでしょう。

Hey, what system do you use to determine the pulse modes? i can't seem to do it on my own.
@@akana_ You can see it from my website's “About” page. I use WaveTone for measuring frequencies. However that method can be used only for PWMs by triangle wave comparison method and for other types I'm just comparing with other people's analysis results.

Thank you for all your videos (and especially for the detailed explanations that accompany each one). I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds these noises interesting. Philadelphia is my home town and I spent a lot of time riding these to and from college. I always wondered why they did not have the very obvious ramping noises like the NYC M7s despite also having Mitsubishi propulsion.

Why is bipolar modulation used if unipolar modulation is generally superior in performance/efficiency?

In order to resolve this problem, dipolar modulation has been applied for 3-level inverters.
@@ebaraexpress7260 Oh I see, so when the train is just starting to move dipolar is used because a low voltage cannot be achieved with unipolar, then it switches to unipolar after more voltage is needed due to efficiency 👍
