Просмотров 27814 дней назад
It's finally time to discuss the top deck(?) of 2004, Magma Spirit! Team Magma's Groudon is supported by a fantastic Magma engine that flips this slow, bulky, basic into a speedy powerhouse.
TCG History: Gardevoir

A look at each Gardevoir card printed in the mainline TCG. Easily one of the best Mons in the game, across printings, in addition to having some beautiful artworks along the way.
Gardevoir ex: ex Era 2004

One of the top decks in the 2004 season, the combo of Psy Shadow Gardevoir and Gardevoir ex was amazing. Modal attacks that could force your opponent into varying defensive stances, and the ability to easily adapt across play styles, made this a true meta-contender.

Mewtwo ex, Gorebyss, Magneton, and Delcatty join forces to slap around a bunch of energy and deal big damage at a low cost. An amazing momentum-builder, but how does it stack up to the other high-power contenders in this format?

Team Magma vs Team Aqua: Themes and Archetypes On-Point

Turns out this set doesn't have much to talk about in terms of underrated cards. Instead, let's celebrate how well this set nailed its themes and the creation of the 'Team Engine'.

200 HP is quite a lot for a Stage 1 Pokemon. AND it can heal? AND it has evasion? You're in for a long game when you sit down with this beast.

Time for ex Dragon! In this series we look at the cards that are overlooked in terms of playability and utility. What cards make this list? Watch and find out, ya goose.

As ago as 2004 gets, hit for a consistent 80 damage each turn, taking advantage of a fully colorless attack cost.

Two mons that can swing hard back-to-back. Lantern and Medicham snowball into one another by recycling energy and setting for a series of one-two punches.

This era's Rain Dance iteration. How does it stack up against the rest of the format? Yes, I positioned the word 'FLOOD' to look like ta-tas in the thumbnail.

Have you ever built a base-ereader lanturn shining raichu deck? Ive been tinkering with one using a expedition venusaur engine, but struggling
Whoever is here in 2024,. know that this deck is not good in the format now. If you want a go fast Wigg deck, play Wigg/Rapidash it's the most degenerate deck in the meta.
What would you change in a rocket on format?
My favorite Pokemon format of all time After that 2009-2010 And then base fossil
Hell yeah 😎
Great format
2004-2008 was my favorite era❤
Would a eeveetron with ho oh from neo revelation work? In base neo format
@@briansumner123 it’s a fun idea. I’ve tried to make that rainbow deck a few times and the ho-oh isn’t really worth the investment that it calls for. Even with gold berry to back it up.
Wigglytuff also likes Clefairy Doll, so Vending Hypno would play nice with it. Call that archetype “WaveMaster”
I don’t think 15/3 is a bad format at all. It solves a lot of base-fossil issues
15/3 is way more fun than base fossil .
We want more videos of base neo decks please!!! Great Job!
So no Grass Energy for Belossom? Then there is no way to build up a solar beam....
Context: Just watched this Exploud video, where Exploud's spread damage is its main attack. Also just watched the Nosepass video by Scott's Thoughts, where he had one hell of a time. Nosepass is my favorite pokemon, and I know it sucks. My question: do any of the Nosepass cards in the EX era see use? Some of them have some interesting attacks, and a couple (Emerald and Holon Phantoms, I believe) have attacks that spread damage around.
RUclips said this video has no views. I had to come and rectify that. Of course though it has like a hundred. Good ol' youtube.
Can't wait to see the delta block eventually
greetings from türkiye. 250 and wotc is the best, balanced pokemon experience❤
thoughts on using Pokémon Trader? might be worth considering if you're running 20+ Pokémon seems like it'd be nice to consistently setup evolution lines and shuffle away cards you don't wish to discard when using Prof Oak
Awesome video as per usual. 😊
Quality of you work is amazing! Truly inspiring
love exploud
Thanks for posting!!
Cant wait for one of my fav creators to cover one of my fav eras
When I started this channel in 2017 my goal was to make it to the 2006 format because it's my favorite of all time and everything leading up to that era is interesting in their respective ways. Super excited to finish out the ex era in the coming years.
@shuckletcg I have started a RS-PK league at my local card store, and your vids have helped me a bunch learning the early bits of the format. I can't wait to show them your vids in a few
Can't await for the 2005 season. Take care of yourself. Keep up the good work!
This era was the time I played a lot. The TCG really felt like it peaked during this era though and just started going downhill at the start of gen 4. I have my own version of this deck from back then still too. It really is a lot of fun to play with. Still hope to see a dark dragtrode deck and some other prominent decks from the time period explained. I think another reason this deck also did well was how it didn't rely on rare candies and didn't fall apart to ATM rock. It was resilient to disruptions.
Can't your opponent just decline to draw for the mulligans?

Love this content man
really like the pace of these recent deck list videos. You explain the key cards, show the decks list, and then go into detail about the techs.
This is a hell of a deck. Seems like it covers all its bases, runs fast, and hits hard enough. I'd love to pilot this at some point.
I have this built. So fun
Oh man, I remember pulling out this beautiful Groudon from a booster pack when I was little. I still have it to this day. It's such a beautiful card.
I remember having a Team Magma's Groudon, but I never knew the significance of the card and the deck until I pulled it from Celebrstions. Such a cool piece of history
There was a rumour global releases would be happening in 2025 but nothing had been announced at Worlds.
One of only two Decks in history to have an Undefeated run at Worlds. Insane.
I've always heard that this deck was undefeated, but what was the second one?
Gardevoir ex SIR is my favorite. Pulled it with one pack magic on free comic book day last year.
As a Gardevoir player, I own like, every relevant Gardevoir deck that existed in history and I think you did a fantastic work on this video! The Gardevoir deck for the EX and DP era are my favorites decks of all time, so fun and powerfull. But for Gardevoir GX, I can guarantee it was a tier 1 deck for sure. Look, it won world in 2017, I think it's a pretty good argument haha! It was still good after the XY rotaiton with Sylveon GX and after that with Ninetales GX like you mentionned. But everything changed when the Tag Team Era arrived I guess. For the Lost Thunder one, sadly no it's not very good in Fairy GLC. I tried to make it work, it just don't, there is better stage 2 to play in Fairy GLC like Togekiss with Ancient Trait and the Florge that reduce the attack cost of all your fairy. The Magical Miracle GX was FOR SURE my favorite GX attack to announce. I will always remember when it came out at my local and player where like "Okay, I shuffled my hand into my deck, how many card do I draw now?" and then I just smile and say 0. Priceless. The recents Gardevoir ex deck with and without Shining Arcana are really fun to use too, using them at regionals was great! Overall the video was good, a great ride trough the memory line for me. Continue your great work, I'm a big fan of your channel as of late. :)
Excellent choice of music for this video.
I wasn’t playing then but Dark Explorers (109) Gardevoir is probably my favourite. What other Pokémon you think has a high amount of playable cards, maybe Altaria?
Mew, Mewtwo, Rayquaza, Espen/Umbreon. Those are the ones that come to mind as being close to Gardy.
Gardevoir GX did win Worlds, I think you undersold that one a bit. Great video though!
always hyped to see one of these vids
Loving your content mate!
Can’t wait to see the 2005 block! Can you include an EX-era (rs-pk or 2004) haymaker build?
For sure!
1:35 could you post a build of the ex era (rs-pk) haymaker?
5:23 you should do a video on those original Auldey Tomy figurines!
I do want to add a bunch to my collection someday, so that video is inevitable.
This may be a dumb question, but if I have an eevee on the field, and then play a muk, does eevees Pokémon power trigger before muk turns it off?
Could be worth considering running electabuzz to counter mr mime or possibly have a way to stall if you don’t have zapdos or a way to accelerate energy to it. Also lass I would def run to help stop energy removal cards
@shuckletcg I just wanted to let you know that Jason Klaczynski is hosting a Prop 15/3 tournament in Milwaukee on August 11, at a shop called The Mana Vault (3807 S. Packard Ave. St. Francis, WI 53235). I wanted to let you know in case you wanted to play (There's a Base-Fossil tournament the previous day, but it's booked out). I wish I had thought of you sooner, as this is very short notice. I know Prop 15/3 isn't your favorite format, but I thought you'd have fun playing five or more rounds of retro Pokémon with Brock's Golbat/Gengar and getting the chance to see Jason in real life.
I appreciate you letting me know! My work schedule is so packed that I haven't had much time to play any TCG outside of MtG lately, let alone travel. There's a Pokemon Regionals in Louisville next year so I'm hoping there's a vintage crowd I can jump into there.
@@shuckletcg Thanks for replying! Hope work settles down and there's a retro tournament you'd be interested in at the Regionals.
Just a few things to note: clefable cant metronome elemental blast because, even though it doeant need the energies attached to use the attack, its still needs to discard one of each because its the attack requirement. Also this card is way better in neo-on because there's no energy removal, and you can use expedition venusaur's harvest bounty to attach 2 energies per turn.
groudon ex is very playable in RS-PK actually! i love this set. gorebyss/crobat is my favorite 04 deck.
I will love to see this deck in play !!
