Avacyn is to slow. Also there are plenty of ways to bounce or steal her. Board wipes are not an effective strategy against a deck that can go off with nothing on the board, which is most higher tier decks. This is coming from someone who plays Tymna/Kraum. So take that for what it is.

I've been thinking about putting an Avacyn's Momument in my Gallifrey Stands deck to protect all my Doctor cards. At least its not quite as bad as running this as your commander lol

This is why I run Knowledge Pool and Curse of Exhaustion in all of my commander decks that have splashes of white.

People who complain about a strategy never makes sense to me. Yeah some strategies are more annoying than others to deal with, but it's not impossible. In this case you gotta find a way to prevent those field wipes. You see the commander in the command zone, you know what the deck is probably gonna play out with. Don't call the other player a cheater or an asshole because they used a strategy you didn't like.

A friend had Avacyn on the board, but not as a commander. My Marchesa traitor aristocrat deck really enjoyed having her on my side. (Treason, attack, dethroned, sacrificed, and there she was, all mine)
