Lords, Ladies and Wizards of Lacock Abbey.
We're at Lacock Abbey and village and Val takes a shine to this spectacular medieval Abbey and village!
We have another day out fron Devizes camping and caravanning club site and visit the partially open Lacock Abbey, due to being out of season. Never the less the cloisters and gardens are still accessible and very beautiful as Val mentions on numerous occasions. We have a walk around Lacock village, were it feels like time as stood still for centuries, and Val picks up some lovelly homemade chocolates and marmalade. Yum Yum. We come across the pretty St Cyriac's Church in the centre of the village. We arrive back on site to a crisp but beautiful sunny afternoon and Val tries to convince D...

    Dave. Just one more question. What size and type of Moll grips did you use on the sway bracket to hold it in place while you swapped out the older longer bolt? Did you use one with a long nose or a standard one? It was hard to hear the audio on this section of the video. Any other tips?

    • @davidsutcliffe4888
      @davidsutcliffe4888 3 дня назад

      Long nosed ones would be better as access is very restricted, but it does take a lot of force to compress the rubber bushings enough to get the bolts started. I think it might be a good idea to source some longer bolts first, bolt it up with them and then replace them one at a time with the shorter ones if required. Those short bolts did cause quite a bit of a problem. Hope this helps. Dave.

    • @kampenheimer
      @kampenheimer 2 дня назад

      @@davidsutcliffe4888 Yes that's quite helpful. It seems strange why they would not include longer bolts. My ones look short in the replacement kit. Thank you Dave for your advice and video

    Hi Dave. Is it possible to change the sway bar bushings bracket and its rubber bushing without completely removing the sway bar from the vehicle like you did?

    • @davidsutcliffe4888
      @davidsutcliffe4888 3 дня назад

      Yes I think so but it is not easy as the two halves of the bracket are peened together. Once the bolts are out you will need to prise them apart and there is not much room to work. Good luck. Dave.

    Hi Dave, very informative video. My issues is my handbrake won't release. I had a local mechanic look at the shoes and everything seemed OK. But now it's happening again. I was wondering is that pivot point with the 2 springs could be sticking and preventing it releasing?

    • @davidsutcliffe4888
      @davidsutcliffe4888 23 дня назад

      Yes that's possible, also check that the equalizer were the cable adjuster is has not seized. Another common issue with these vans is that the handbrake cables fray were the cable enters the brake back plates. This will cause the cable to stick in its outer sleeve and cause the brakes to stick on. If your mechanic is happy that there is no issue with the brake shoes and they are adjusted correctly, no linkages are seized, then I would suspect the two handbrake cables are the issue. Good Luck. Dave.
