I truly don’t understand how anyone could consider Lynette and Tom their favorite couple. To me, they’re one of the most frustrating and toxic couples on the show, mainly because of Tom. He’s a lying, cheating, selfish man who constantly demands more from Lynette, who sacrifices her career, her personal dreams, and her well-being to be a stay-at-home mom and take care of their kids. Meanwhile, Tom makes poor decision after poor decision, only making her life harder. He embodies every stereotype of an entitled, patriarchal husband. Not only does Lynette forgive his infidelity, but she also helps raise his love child, all while the mother of the child treats her terribly. And to top it all off, when Lynette gets cancer later in the series, Tom continues to treat her poorly. It’s honestly infuriating to watch, and I can’t fathom how anyone would think they’re a “dream couple.” 😭😭😭

6:53:05 I think it’s fine. The weight of Juanita is important and shown in a very proper way imo. I used to be her weight and I could see how my mom struggled. I don’t judge her for her mindset since she actually was a real model too. And ofc she was worried about my weight, I started having high blood pressure problems at just 12! That’s insane, the body of a young kid isn’t build for that. So even tho I did lose all that weight I think showing Juanita as a heavy kid, and how Gaby tried understanding her makes a lot of sense to me. Juanita being that weight is definitely not ideal. My dad is a pediatrician and obviously being that heavy is very unhealthy.

It doesn’t excuse the amount of racially sensitive tropes that are specifically perpetuated against black men, but it does give me a sense of understanding as to why Betty’s character didn’t interact with the rest of the ladies as much as otherwomen coming onto the show and onto the lane

Thanks for the work but you kind of exposed yourself by agreeing that a woman punching her husband because he wants to risk having a kid. You considered that standing up for herself but if a man stood up for himself by socking his wife we would all call that domestic violence. Why is it empowering when one gender does it and a crime if another gender does it. Maybe it’s me and not understanding when women ask for equality what that exactly means but for me equality means if it is a crime and deserves outrage when a man does it then it should be a crime if a woman does it.
