My absolute favourite comedian ever!!! Went to see him at the old O’Keefe Centre in Toronto in 1984. His concert was one week after I had undergone knee surgery for a torn ACL and a torn MCL. I was in a hinge cast from my toes to the top of my leg. Fortunately, we had aisle seats and I was able to extend my leg into the aisle for some extra room. It was somewhat painful, but I wouldn’t have missed that concert for anything! Loved Rodney from the first time I ever saw him on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. A true original. RIP…

Rodney finally got respect. And the world was a better place when he was here.

His close to death stuff was to much for most of us. Because we realized our beloved Rodney was vanishing away. I go back to the johnny days. He and they were kings.

So heartbroken that Rodney is gone! A very funny man who made everyone laugh! A very lonely man with a Great Depression he suffered with! It’s tough to be on the road all the time and your family & friends are back home waiting for you!! RIP my friend!!!!

The aspects of this program that REALLY ->stand out, LIKE A SORE THUMB; are: 1.: The show's background music is WAY too: loud; abrasive; harsh, rough; and, FAR too fast. &, 2.: Rodney's material was wonderfully looser, more liberal, more casual, more bawdy; &, more controversially acceptable as tv topic; but, welcome to hear a more accepting, relaxed approach on tv, at this time. &, 3.: For certain, Kilborn is grating, offensive, obnoxious, noisy, garish, gruff, grating, off-putting, crude, disgusting, unpleasant, coarse, unfunny, &, unpalatable. What a massive mistake to put him on the air. &, 4.: I am overjoyed that Craig Kilborn is OFF the air-! Hateful guy-!!! He is ABSOLUTELY AWFUL; &, TOTALLY TERRIBLE AT A PUBLIC INTERACTION HOSTING SOCIALIZING TYPE OF JOB!! HE'S BEST SUITED TO BE A JANITOR IN AN ALL-OVER THE GROUNDS: DOG-POOPED PARK-! &, 5.: Kilborn is so DISLIKABLE; that HE IS UNWATCHABLE; I CAN NOT even watch him-!!!

What a life! Rodney Dangerfield was one of a kind. A product of impossibilities and improbabilities to see humor in his personal tragedies. The root of comedy is misery. And the stories Robert Klein told after Rodney's death explains why Rodney appended Henny Youngman's "Take my wife, please!". Root of misery. He's got a wife who leaves food out for the ants. After decades with the woman, she's still feeding the ants. You know by this point he says nothing, just gets stoned, writes more jokes. To get back out on the road. Away!!

Rodney couldn't understand what a legend he was . While he was being filmed doing his comedy shtick scenes a lot of the costars were behind the camera watching history . They were all quiet because they were also recording sound . Rodney was new to acting in movies and thought he was bombing because nobody was laughing . Caddyshack is Rodney's movie , he stole it without even trying .
