👍🏻🎯 Nice video Drew! We have like minds sharpening chiseled edges. A working edge is the way to go. I hope things are going better for you. Take care & catch ya on the rebound 😊! 👍🏻💪🏻🇺🇸☘️
The vidio I’ve wanted for
Good video Drew. Trust your week is going great 🇺🇸 🇳🇿
@@david6920-r6z Thank you David. I hope the same for you my friend.
Just watching the fierceness of the water on video is terrifying.
@@oliveoil5789 it was pretty intense.
Good video. I love what you said about "a working edge" which is so important for every blade. Too many times we try to sharpen everything to a razor's edge. Never a dull blade, but always a working edge!
@@pianop1961 Yes sir Mr. P Thank you my friend.
Great video Drew. Enjoyed it very much. Many a project was ruined by being impatient. Slow & steady wins the race. Wonderful project & an awesome piece of wood. Catch ya later Drew! Take care. 👍🏻💪🏻🇺🇸☘️
@@johnherlihy260 Thank you my friend. I have a lot going on so getting videos up hasn't been easy as of late. I hope you're doing good John. I'll catch ya on the next one 💪🏻🇺🇸🤙🏻
As we sit over the mountain from you, southbof Marshall but somewhere along the mountain a half mile above the French Broad, ive been wondering how y'all are doing over there now What do folks need etc? While it won't be in January, Im planning a road trip amongst all the devstated communities to see how folks are doing now. Have been to old and unable to get out in winter. So, perhaps Feb. My email is on my channel. All of the folks affected by the disaster remain in my prayers daily Im serious. Let me know if my son and I can help Even if you got what ya need,we over in Western North Carolina would benefit from seeing how our neighbors are My heart has ached all winter to pitch in but sometimes God has other plans . God bless and keep you all safe and recovering. Respect Peace And love Osiyo Wado❤ Appreciate you sharing your heartaches. ❤🤗🙏

Amazing craftsmanship Drew. You can make some good money selling those. Love the dogs. Trust you have an awesome week Brother! 🇺🇸 🇳🇿
@@david6920-r6z Thank you David. I hope the same for you my friend.
Great job, your choice in wood is perfect and your patience in making it is what it takes to achieve excellence. Praying things are slowly getting better there for all the mountain folk.
@Male7709 Thank you!
How green/seasoned is the wood?
@@g-man7938 2ish years seasoned.
Beautiful grain pattern.
You're making good progress on that bow, thanks for sharing! Bonzo looked concerned, like: "It's freezing up here, why is this guy out here scraping on a stick? Is he O.K.?" 😂 I love the mountain views and watching the dogs out having fun being dogs. You are blessed to live in such a beautiful place!
@@carolyng5235 Thanks for watching Carolyn. I do feel lucky to live in the mountains of East Tennessee. My dogs are lucky too.
You’re hardier than I am, buddy! I would need a roaring fire and some hot chocolate to do that work! Hope the hostel gets up and running this year. Always, the best!
Cold here in michigan too...just wondering what kind of pipe tobacco do you smoke. It's overpriced but I like the captain blacks and borkum riffs.

These are my best fiitting shoes in my rotation. I don't do anything nearly as rigorous as you. Ive had them for about 5 years, I loved them so much I tried to buy other SFB models and got disappointed. The jungle line is exactly what I needed and was looking for and instead I got the other variants. These are wide foot friendly as well.
Today is January 12th. I live i Sevier county TN. I've warched youtubes since day 1 of Helene. I've cried, I've prayed. I did enjoy yours. Your pretty awesome and kept a positive attitude about what was happening to you and Britts and your gorgeous dogs. I am really happy y'all didn't lose much. I'll be 69 in 2 days and not in the best physical shape. Had knee replacement last June and now about to have ankle surgery. I always wanted to go river rafting but never did it. I pray come spring you'll be able to get your business back operating. Thank you for sharing.
@@AngelGranni Thanks for all the kind words and I appreciate you watching.
What did you treat that handle with ? Linseed makes me want to vomit….will anything else work ?
@@tankbutler5737 you could use danish oil. I now use a mixture of bear grease, pine pitch and beeswax that I make myself. I'd say if you render down a little fat wood into liquid pitch and mix in some beeswax that would work, just a little pitch though. Maybe add a little ground up hardwood ash as well.
@ awesome, thanks for taking the time to reply. Safe travels
Great video Drew. I like seeing these “face-offs” between knives. Interesting for their differences & to see why one is favored over the other. I think they’re both wonderful knives! And I do like them for their differences. I love those 2 knuckleheads 😊! Lol!! “Get ‘em Bonzo!” Lol!! I’m guessing Bonzo is the “Alpha,” for now. Could be wrong. You’d be the one to know Drew. Love those wood handles! Enjoyed your video very much Drew! Catch ya on the next one!! 👍🏻💪🏻🇺🇸☘️
@@johnherlihy260 It was fun making that video. I'm glad you enjoyed it my friend. The pecking order goes: Me Bonzo Bergel That being said they both kind of submit to the other at times and look to me for direction. Appreciate you John! 💪🏻🇺🇸🤙🏻

Great video. That Gorge reminds me so much of the Linville Gorge over here in North Carolina. It has the Linville River flowing through the bottom. The woods surrounding it looks like it was clearcut with all the winds from Helene.

@@nannyoverzet1954 I'm really glad you enjoyed the video and the pups. Thank you.
Great video Drew! I'm learning a lot about knives from you. If I was still in my younger days camping in the Appalachians, I would definitely be trying to find one of those Stroeming knives! Always fun to see what your dogs are up to also! I hope the winter storm wasn't too bad in your area.
@@carolyng5235 so far just some flurries but we have a storm coming through in a few days. Appreciate you watching, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I'm sorry if I offended you about the deck. I certainly didn't mean to call it the other word. I didn't mean to be a deck 😉 I should have explained what the image was showing on G Earth better. It was early on in the construction phase and it didn't have those awesome natural railings yet. I have seen footage from another tuber that has shown a structure being built on the property there. Great to see such rapid progress. I hope you and your neighbors are doing ok now that it is winter. Stay strong.
😂 Burgle looked like he was a werewolf with his hackles up!!! Good lesson on the knives I never realized the differences in the blades.

Hey Brother, cool video. I was talking online with a guy from Finland recently. He mentioned the Sami Tribe (up in the North or Noway, Finland, Sweden, and Russia, traditionally carry this style of long knife paired up with a smaller Puukko style. Really interesting. Thanks for sharing 🇺🇸 🇳🇿

I've seen several knives I didn't care for. Never seen a knife I would rather have none than it. Anything is better than nothing. But Broker is one of the best I can afford. I've got some hen and rooster that are good. I got an old I mean old fixed blade case that is the sharpest I've ever had. And easiest to get sharp. Later Doug
Definitely an amazing view ❤. Hopefully heaven has a view like that minus the green briars❤
Thank God you guys are safe
Great project Drew! Nothing like a Jeff White blank and making a kick ass Frontier Mountain Man knife! Really cool how the handle came out with Grits’ suggestion 👍🏻. Nice oak handle. The blade looks to be about 4-5” long. Nice ridges for thumb placement too. Oh yeah that bear grease & bees wax would be nice on that handle. Damn right that would be a worthy knife for any frontier person!! Yes! A scalper!! 👍🏻❤️ Sure did enjoy your project Drew! Sheath next? A frontier/Indian style sheath?
