Unique Travel Adventures
США
Добавлен 13 сен 2019
Hey! I’m Laura! I’m an adventure travel blogger who has been exploring the world since December 2016. I’m a thrill seeker who finds unique travel adventures in each place I visit.
I'll show you cost of living, daily life of a long term digital nomad, hidden gems, and authentic experiences off the beaten path.
Over these five years, I've made lifelong friends in a matter of minutes. I've seen some incredible places that I didn't even know existed. I've had some amazing experiences that challenge what we are shown in the US. I've learned more than I was ever taught in a classroom. I've lowered my stress and anxiety levels and increased my quality of life at a fraction of the price.
Don't get me wrong ... It's not all rainbows and butterflies. I've had challenges, breakdowns, and frustrations along the way, but the good FAR outweigh the bad.
This world is big. This world is beautiful. And I've only yet begun exploring it.

$27 DusitD2 HUA HIN Condo Tour | Thailand Cost of Living
Dusitd2 Hua Hin has two different sides. This is what the condo side of the complex is like. While this was listed as a 1 bedroom on AirBNB, it's honestly a glorified studio.
The amenities were awesome! Coworking space (which is hard to come by in Hua Hin), pool, and gym were all included.
This is our first time in Hua Hin Thailand and while it was good for our first two nights, I probably wouldn't stay here on a monthly basis due to the slow internet and itchy couch.
Be unique. Be adventurous.

American Village Okinawa Japan 4k Walking Tour

Here's what American Village Okinawa Japan looks and sounds like! While this is a far cry from what a city in the USA is actually like, it was a valid attempt for being over 6,000 miles away in Chatan Okinawa Japan. There were breweries, Tex-Mex burritos, multiple ice cream shops such as the famous Blue Seal brand, bars, etc. that overlooked the East China Sea. It's pretty quiet in the afternoo...

This is what $90 a night gets you in an Okinawa Chatan hotel! Our room had twin beds, a Japanese-style bathroom with a bidet, a mini fridge, slippers, and fresh pajamas daily. Located within walking distance of American Village, it offered comfort and convenience for an affordable price. If you’re planning a trip to Okinawa Japan , I would highly recommend La'Gent Hotel Chatan. I booked this Ok...
RAYONG Hotel | What $18 Gets You in Rayong City Thailand

We paid $18 USD for this Rayong hotel. The room was surprisingly spacious, with plenty of natural light, a queen-sized bed, and a big closet for storage. It even came with a balcony! The main reason for our trip was to extend our visa. This Rayong City Hotel ended up being about 30 minutes away from the immigration office. You can definitely find closer hotel options, but then you would be on t...

I have a BIG sweet tooth so we spent the day tasting Albanian desserts. I have no idea what any of these Albania sweets are called, but most of them were on point! When you travel Albania, you'll notice there are bakeries everywhere. Naturally, we had to try as much traditional Albanian food as we could during our one month stay. Be unique. Be adventurous. What to Pack for LANGTANG Valley Trek | The ULTIMATE Gear List
I hope you’ve realized how stupid it is to expect the same kind of mentality and customs you got used to in your country of birth in a completely different culture thousand of miles from home! Your videos are tooooo long and unfocused. I couldn’t take it Longer then 7 minutes!
Thank you for sharing your perspective and experience living in Tbilisi. I live in North America, but am Russian born and very familiar with the region’s culture and so called norms. You are right about water and electricity shut downs, but this alone for me wouldn’t be a reason to be disappointed with the country. Smocking in restaurants and taxis is awful and I wouldn’t like it at all. Unfortunately, those are the remnants of the Soviet era flows that people got used to. Dogs crap on streets is outrageous and ugly by no means!! Also are old remnants! In terms of violence towards foreigners it’s hard for me to comment on. Usually, Georgian people are very friendly and hospitable once they get to know you. However, this is a very unique nation with century old traditions, especially towards perceived “violations” of their cultural norms. For example, they won’t tolerate women’s revealing clothing outside, especially if those women are alone without the company of a man. This is disrespectful to their traditions! Never ever argue with a local man or insult their traditions or points of view. This may almost always end in big troubles. Also, don’t be arrogant, snobbish and loudly critical. You are in their home, and it’s better to be as humble as possible if you want to stay out of their radar. Also remember that there could be members of violent gangs and other numerous Caucasian ethnicities, like Chechens who work and live in the city. It’s usually those people who carry knives or other weapons with them, as an old cultural tradition. Members of Islam religion do absolutely NOT accept homosexuals people! It’s better not to show at all or be maximum discreet! Understanding and accepting this culture and traditions better, would guarantee a very pleasant and memorable time spent in Tbilisi and Georgia! I wouldn’t miss such experience for the world!

What is the name of the apartment?
Hi there. We are looking to stay at Hop in hotel. Wondering that is there any laundry places close by? Thanks
It's good to see that discrimination still exists in the world. Discrimination is the sine qua non of man. I'd put this in the "pros" column for Tblisi. Of course, I understand why basic Americans with no understanding of genetic predispositions and a hard-on for political correctness might get their panties in a wad about this - they've been inculcated from birth to believe the fairytale of "it's just skin color."
Nice small video . Is this the slow train to HUA HIN ?. Are all of this train compartments without aircon or only few are ?. Is non aircon compartment can one open the window to get airflow ?. Is there overhead area to put a big Luguage or any small Luguage ?. Thanks & keep up the good blog. Have a safe & enjoyable trip in South East Asia. CARPEDIEM
Thanks for the kind words. I don't think there is a "fast" train to Hua Hin. Some compartments have air con, others don't. Air con classes are typically the first ones booked / sold out. The non air con compartments have windows and most times, everyone has these down for the whole ride. Otherwise it gets HOT. Yes, there is overheard storage to put luggage (both big and small).
I want to set a pet monkey named Gustavo
Can i reach China border in this route?? Pls help
I'm not sure as I didn't go all the way to the China border.
Thank you
Complete rip off. Outrageous price. And you're making prices go up paying that garbage price.
I wish there were other options that were more reasonably priced, but it was slim pickings when we were there. We found that you really only get a break on prices if you sign a 1 year lease which we weren't willing to do at that point.
Your video have saved me
Thank you for the kind words.
Hi Respected Teacher and World Traveler Miss Laura Greetings from Pakistan With due reverence and beseechingly I appreciate your unique experience. Thank you for pointing out Talisi, Georgia’s “racism.” The word “Racism” in modern white-liberal-speak is code for “discernment.” Calling any person “racist” for discerning / observing actual observable scientific data about the results of Black/Indian/Mayan cultures and its affects on the countries they fled from after destroying them (because of their culture), is nothing less than a White Liberal doctrine-of-demons, a.k.a. people who distort the image of God. See nose ring = See white liberal, hear white liberal “that’s racist.” PROOF: Go to any liberal-lead (governed) city in the U.S. or any “Western”country (mass immigration of Third World DNA a.k.a. people who historically worshiped false gods and demons a.k.a. Africans a.k.a. South American, Mayans and alike a.k.a. Hindu Indians, etc. etc.) and what do you see? --The full manifestation of human garbage liberal policies that destroy people, cities, wealth and nations according to data. I’m live in San Diego, Calif and am headed to Tbilisi for 3 months to get away from all the garbage Black people who have decimated our neighborhoods, cities & culture in accordance with storied garbage culture, according to (1) data, & (2) human observation.
Is there a difference between this video and your What to Pack for LANGTANG Valley Trek _ The ULTIMATE Gear List? I enjoyed the videos and I appreciate your skills at presentation. The only thing I would add would be the Grayl water filter. I hate buying plastic and that saved a lot of plastic. I'm going to Mount Kailash in Tibet in 2025. The tour leader thinks that the group can get acclimatized by walking the Gosaikunda Trek. Did you have any acclimatization issues? Should I gradually work up to that altitude? By the way, I'm the guy who made that video, "Mount kailash in the walk around the sacred mountain."
Thanks for the kind words. You can use the same gear list for both treks. We didn't have any acclimatization issues, but we also did Tamang Heritage and Langtang Valley before this one. Going slow is the only way to avoid altitude sickness.
Georgia is great unless your a woman or a member of the LBGTQ community. In Georgia, women and LGBTQ+ individuals continue to face significant discrimination and societal hostility, often compounded by systemic issues and restrictive policies. Women encounter widespread gender-based violence, with domestic abuse being a persistent issue despite the existence of laws intended to address it. The enforcement of these laws is inconsistent, leaving many survivors without adequate protection or justice. Beyond violence, cultural norms rooted in patriarchal traditions limit women’s opportunities in the workforce and their representation in politics and leadership. These barriers, coupled with societal expectations around traditional family roles, reinforce inequality and make challenging discrimination particularly difficult. For LGBTQ+ individuals, the situation is similarly fraught with challenges. Violent attacks, particularly during public LGBTQ+ events like Pride marches, are common and often met with impunity. Police and authorities have been criticized for failing to provide adequate protection, and recent legislative measures have further restricted LGBTQ+ rights. Laws banning Pride events and censoring LGBTQ+ representation in media have curtailed freedoms of expression and assembly, drawing international condemnation. Meanwhile, everyday life for LGBTQ+ individuals remains deeply stigmatized, with discrimination prevalent in healthcare, employment, and social settings. Overall, while Georgia has made some strides in legal protections for women and LGBTQ+ individuals, these measures are undermined by weak enforcement and pervasive cultural conservatism. International organizations and local activists continue to advocate for greater protections and societal change, but progress remains slow in the face of entrenched attitudes and restrictive policies.
Thanks for sharing this insight.
Beautiful eyes 👀
Thanks for the kind words.
Visited 40 years ago. Was a bit quieter then.
Oh wow! I felt like Candidasa was pretty quiet now especially comparing it to Canggu, so I can only imagine what it was like 40 years ago.
Why are the plants and shrubs near Langtang Village, Kyanjin Ri and Kyanjin Gomba so dry and brown? Bush fire? Draught? not green. Is this during Autumn/ Fall ? When was this taken ?
We hiked during mid-November.
I wouldn’t wanna clean up after Chinese people either so I don’t blame the old lady
I lived in Tbilisi for two years as a white American and I found Georgian people to be incredibly stupid that they couldn’t perform simple tasks with very little skill needed I also lived in Ukraine for two years or where I found the same thing. I always said that Ukraine and Georgia are the Alabama and Arkansas of Europe, even though Georgia’s not European country, the dumbest people in Europe are in Ukraine and Georgia.
Going on Friday , can't wait! Very useful video.
Thanks for the kind words. I hope you have an amazing time! Let me know how your trek goes.
The sliding glass door from bedroom to living area was an epic fail but the gym area looked really nice. Are you moving out of there? I think you have relatives in Thailand right now
I agree! The sliding glass door is not ideal. Yes, we only stayed here for 2 nights until we were able to find something else. And yes! They are down on Koh Samui which is the closest island to me.
@@uniquetraveladventures too far to visit?
Nope. Just requires some logistics (train or bus and then a ferry).
Thx! How would u rate Hua Hin in comparison of other places in TH. I once visited end of Covid time, the central westernized aera didn't appeal too much but it was a deserted place at this time, a bit difficult to judge.
It's not my favorite place in Thailand, but it's served its purpose for me which is somewhere I can focus with no distractions while still having the amenities of a city. Busy season is starting to ramp up here and you can definitely feel the shift.
I’ve live and traveled to 40+ countries. Georgia is my on the top… Clean, cheap, safe, warm culture, authentic. Unfortunately outsiders can really ruin a culture. In America we don’t have the intimacy and culture which many of the country’s in Europe have. Especially the ones who have been taken over by the USSR. foreigners can come and ruin this really quickly. tourism can come and kill the economy for the poor.. we can’t be so vague and just call people racist based on a western thinking pattern…
Jayce Fall
Couldn’t sleep and this popped up ❤ Two of my friends children live there for work and LOVE IT! They have visited several times and always can’t wait to go back.
What a small world. I would go back in a heartbeat!
Taste like rotten eggs and it's warm. However bottle water is best in the world
It's a taste I definitely won't forget. 😂
Cute video! I think the first one might have been honey cake, and the second one was a 3 milk cake (my daughters favorite). I’m not sure about the other two but I’ve tried the puffy marshmallow ones as well. Your sweet tooth must be wicked 😂
@@comegowithme Thanks for sharing! That 3 milk cake is soooo good! What did you think of the puffy marshmallow?
@@uniquetraveladventures I liked it! I think mine might have been pink though. My sweet tooth has calmed down a lot since being overseas so it was perfect for me. I think it was like one of those soft cookies in between. Not really sure it's been awhile. I do think I expected it to be sweeter than it was though. I find the sweets here to be sweeter than Georgia but not as sweet as the US.
Most definitely! Georgia sweets were a bit underwhelming when you compare it to US sweets.
I want to try the second one!!!!!!
It was SOOOO good. It just hit in all the right places.

What? About $1300/month? You were both ripped off and drove up prices for Albanians who make about the equivalent of $400/month. I wouldn't be so smug if I were you.
@@neenah4027 I never said this was the long term price. $43 is the nightly price for short term. The long term price they quoted me was $900. Hence, why we only stayed for one night.

What $400 for pear. Cheap compared to what they were selling them for in Kingston, two different vendors were asking, $500 & $600 for one. Route taxi isn’t the same as the red plate ones is it? Digicel too damn teif.. Fans in JA are expense. Wow so can only stay for 3 months then you have to pay for an extension ? Since when? Every time i was in JA I was allowed to stay 6 months
Oh wow! 600 JMD per pear?! That's a high price! I'm not sure what you mean by red plate ones. I guess I never paid attention to the color of their license plates, but rather the side of their vehicle. What passport do you use when you entered Jamaica? American passport holders get 90 days upon arrival and then you can extend it for another 90 days. But you can only stay in the country for a total of 180 days per year no matter how many times you enter.
Ooops not 4,000. Sorry about that that. Suppose to be $400.

October 4, 2024 (7AM)
Looks like a really nice place. Love the George Foreman too 😂 How long are you staying there?
We were only here for 1 night until our first apartment in Tirana became available again.
Most people coming from the West will assume $43 per day. Not cheap for Albania. Quite different if you mean $43 per month.
I agree. Prices in Albania were a bit more expensive than we had expected. The prices only drop to the affordability level if you sign a 1 year lease which we were not comfortable doing.
43$ for a month? Where in the world can you get an Airbnb for that price? Or in the universe?
Haha. Right?! I thought it was quite obvious my price was per night.
@uniquetraveladventures It is obvious actually, but internet is full of strange people 😋
Thanks a lot!! Me and my girlfriend are about going to do it next month :) Couple questions though: 1 ) After the trek we planning to stay one more day in Ushguli and visit Shkhara Glacier which kinda nearby to Ushguli - Do you recommend doing it or visiting something else near Ushguli ? 2) When we'll get back to Mestia we'll do few day trips each day. Koruldi Lakes , Ushba Glacier + Shdugra Waterfal, Chalaadi Glacier. Is there something you recommend doing around mestia that I didn't mention ? Thanks!!!
@@AlmogYosef520 Make sure the trails / teahouses are still open in September. I didn't do Shkhara Glacier as we didn't have time, but I definitely considered it. So I would say YES! Go do it! I would take a day or two to just enjoy Mestia. Depending on where your guesthouse is located, you could have some killer mountains views.
