For this track, I randomly started with the atmospheric/rhythmic synth sounds in the background and kept the drum beat pretty simple. I layered on the buzzy bass to give the sandwich more "meat" but resisted adding too many dramatic swells or drops. I'm going for a "peaceful haunting" feel. Something about observing the interplay of light, sound, and power. ⚛️

This track took me the better part of January and February to finish, but I'm glad how it turned out. As usual, you'll hear sprinklings of warped vocal effects on top of a well grounded drum beat and rhythmic bass lines. I also put in a pretty little ditty using a piano synth in a few places. 🍃

For this track, I spent more time on the sound design of the various percussive elements and vocal blorps (that's a technical word). This is the type of progressive, layered, relentless energy that I like to dance to at festivals and such. Crank it up and let yourself go. Hopefully I can play this on a ginormous sound system someday. ♾️

I chose a more subdued beat for this track, but you'll still hear the usual mix of angelic female melodies and sliced and diced voices. Attentive listeners will notice at least one instrument layer which I reused from a previous production. This song reminds me of a serene landscape, on the shores of an ocean, lush with vegetation. Not all the sounds make sense, but they're not supposed to. 🧠

I had fun making this one and I have fun listening to it too. It's got all the hallmarks of a JC track, including sliced and diced robohuman vocals, a solid "punching a stuffed animal" beat, the beautiful stretchy ethereal breakdown bridge, and various razzle dazzle sprinkles of soundgarden dew drops on the peripheries of your ears. The title is a reference to the aphorism, "Small things will make a large pile", which I like to think about when it comes to producing music, building expertise, or making anything of value, really. I played this at the beginning of my 37th birthday party at a venue in Williamsburg, warming the crowd up for our rock band show that followed.
