In this video, we go over what it takes to properly add the china Jeep JK hard body to the scx10 ii chassis. My way of doing this lets you remove the body in 5 seconds, no screws! This is the china Austar chassis I review in another video, but its the same for the Axial. It will involve buying a $100 ssd scale transmission to keep from cutting a hole in the interior. Why didn’t you just buy the RC4WD Scottsdale brah?
Hello, please advise me. I am building a SCX10 II clone with Injora chassis. I cannot get the geometry right. The chassis came with links and panhard bar pre-installed, as well as the shocks. What happens to me is, that when steering to the left, the front left of the truck lifts quite significantly. If steering to the right, it kinda wants to lower itselfo on the front right side. The only thing I did is I installed taller shock towers, so I could lower the body (using Jeep Cherokee XJ). Does this affect the geometry in the way, that it behaves or is it a different issue ?
@MostlyRCSlovakia yes, any change in height will mess with the geometry of the suspension. You will have to mess with the length ans possible angle of the panhard bar
@@oddsandendsrc thanks for the reply, will plylay with tje lenght and angles and see what comes out
When is the next video on this ?
Your blazer looks amazing love it
What did you think of the metal and plastic transmission and transfer case. Were either of them noisy?
@@Bonald1 it's not bad, maybe a little louder than a stock one.
@@oddsandendsrc thank you for letting me know
Hay it,s only hay,hay,hay!
Just because you were asking, 😉 Panhard-Levassor was one of the earliest car makers, and Rene Panhard invented that bar or rod to stabilise their own vehicle's suspension way back in the 1920s! A genius move for sure! And here's a car they were selling right before WW2 happened, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panhard_et_Levassor_Dynamic#/media/File:Panhard_Et_Levassor.jpg Crazy but cool right?
Very detailed and informative. Thanks a lot
Is there an oring on the axle shaft in the rear? Inside the cup in the center and the inside the differential cup at the other end.
Nice!! Will injora wheels 1.9 fit injora tires size 120mm by 45mm 1.9?
I tried to swap axle hubs but they are notched to stop them from rotating. How did you put the left on the right and vice versa?
Mine came with this axle with a trx4 2 speed transmission and 3 link set up?.. the top link is on the passenger side. Would the geometry still work for mine? Thank for this video.
Nice👍🏾
Thanks 💯
That looks great man. Mouted one of these on a HPI Crawler King, it looked much better than the older stock lexan Ford bronco body.
Love it other than the short bed. I do like short wides for rods but for some reason the long beds look better for 4x4's like thr fall guys gmc grande. I want to greenlight 1:18 version to add to my collection. Should check it out, loved the show as a 10 year old & love it today as well. Wish they'd release the last 4 seasons..
Thanks! It's in the process of getting a longer bed but life got in the way.
They increased the price of this chassis. I got mine for $150. Basically following your build of the chassis. Doing the track bar setup like you did.
Just got my first 1/10 scale. scx10.2 and it came with this body (in Orange). Previous owner cut out the entire interior to accommodate the 10.2 transmission. I am currently dealing with tire rub, and facing the need to bring the front axle forward. Thank you for your informational video! Any help on how to bring that axle forward is appreciated.
If you could slide the body backwards and center the front wheel and the front wheel well, then you could just extend the rear 4 links with longer ones to Center the rear axle in the rear wheel well. Trying to extend the front axle turns into a lot of complications and geometry issues with the suspension.
Hi, I just watched your video on your truck it’s January 2024. I was just wondering what you used for the silver where your paint lines meet by the way the truck looks great.
Thanks! I used silver automotive pin striping that you can get from autozone.
Does the length of panhard & steerinh link are necessarily the same length?
They are usually close, the angle of both needs to be close also
@@oddsandendsrc understood sir. Thank you very much for the tips. Appreciate that so much👍🏻
Running video? Let's see it in action. Awesome idea! Nice ford body. Where did you get that?
Just got mine in the mail today and looked in the box they included all the metal upgrade parts for planetary and transfercase just wanted to make a little update for those checking this video out
Great build would you have or be able to make a video of it crawling and flexing?
Can you fb message me
I just did.
I didn't get it. Man I am sick of all these sites trying to keep people from talking to each other. If we can message each other I can give you more info on the jeep
You have made alot of great builds.
Thanks!
Would you be able to or have you made a running video of it. I have fallen in love with the build. Amazing Jeep build.
Are you the one that was interested in it on ebay?
so im running 110mm shocks on the same clone chassis in the video would i need to use a 110mm track bar, i did all the same things you did step by step
Is it as simple as switching the hubs from one side to the other, or did you need a new passenger side hub? I thought I heard "switch"....(I'm a noob). Also, did you make the 95mm track arm or purchase it? BTW, I have zero clue as to what I am doing. I can't even tell you very much about F150 FX4 truck.
I did a simple bump steer delete on it. Just mount the servo below the usual mount. No extras needed just screw it in under where you normally would on the same mount and that completely fixed it for me. The servo is a lil bit more visible but i run scale rigs so my standards for that are pretty high and it looks fine.
Pardon, how?
@@Stodgyaban_ hard to explain. Litterally just mount servo below the traditional mounts. No extras needed it is simple. Moves the servo down decreasing bump steer.
@@keqrou but it still doesn’t fix 100% ?
@@Stodgyaban_ 99%
@@keqrou great
For anyone interested in buying these. Yes, they are worth it. Only horrible thing on it are the stock shocks but otherwise thryve worked great. Never missed a beat. People treat crawler transmissions as if thry are 8s xmaxx transmissions. Hell most run just a small brushed motor. It isnt going to strip. And i have extremely heavy rigs as all the bodies are 3d printed with functioning canopies and all to the point where they make the stock stiff shocks too soft on full compression. People shit on them purely because of the price. And if a part breaks, just chuck a scx10 version in and give it a upgrade. The crawling community has become way too snobby
How would it handle a pre runner build? I’m thinking of using one for twin I beam conversion and swapping in a brushless sidewinder 3 setup. RWD only. Would it handle it do you think?
@@icebox829 I mean I can tell you the trans will most definitely not hold up. But the diffs and everything will. With some better suspension and a cheap all metal trans it's like any other scx 10 and far cheaper
@@keqrou yeah that’s a good point
Your 100% correct about those snobs.
People throw around phrases like "most definitely not hold up" with absolutely zero data other than its a knock off. Just voluntary ignorance.
4 years later the housings are still available, but now 20$........ bummer
I just bought this truck and the really cheap and it was all brand new still in the box with all the extras to make it a having a hard time deciding if that's what I want to do or not I really wish they made an extension piece to make the cat for the Blazer into a bed cap for the truck
this body is compatible in traxxas trx 4 sport ?? sorry my ingles
I have not personally done one, but I'm sure it could be done with some trimming
Nice rig!!
Thanks!
What front links sizes did you use? Great job btw!
Hey there, fantastic work, I bumped into your vids as I am using the same body / chassis to build a Fall Guy truck. I haven't got the chassis yet but was wondering if it was easily extendable to a 13.1 or even 13.9 wheelbase? Also, would love to see your progress !
Probably the easiest way for longer wheelbase has would be to splice two sets of frame rails together
Anyone have a link for that front axle? Will it work with a stock SCX10II?
It is the ssd pro 44 axle, comes on the ssd trail king. Yes it will fit 10 ii.
Hi. Your G Wagen looks great! I’m planning to put 1.55 wheels on my CC-02. Do you think using wider wheel hubs would provide clearance for the wheels negating the need to file/grind down the suspension screws?
That should work. Depending on what wheels you use you may not have to.
can you pls provide more detail on the magnetic body mount? im just building mine and could use some tips on how to achieve!! thanks
Type in magnetic rc body mounts on eBay or Amazon and it should bring up a ton of them.
I have on bran new in the box never put together
Those wheels look great!!! That entire build looks beautiful
Thanks!
I have the Injora Clone, with the motor in the front. I shortened and longer steering and panhard link, but it steer a little bit when the shocks are fully extend. I also longer the upper link by 2mm and the lower ones by 5mm to get my clearance and wheelbase. Does this effect anything? I'm a little bit confused. Does the position of the servo effect anything? I was forced to put him further back, maybe 5mm.
The steering link and panhard link need to be close to the same angle, if one is angled more than the other one it throws everything off. It's a game of trial and error. Also remember to remove one of the upper links if you haven't already.
The Injora clone have a 3 link system with panhardbar @@oddsandendsrc
I just got it too use in the creeks so we will see how she goes 200aud from ail Express, the axial kit version is 500aud crazy I know !
Just saw the video I like it I think the exhaust Stacks are cool you're right about the wheels though I've bought aluminum ones👍🏆
What do you use for bigger exhaust stacks?
If problems are you need different motor. You need Tamiya Item 54114 CR- Tuned Motor ( 35T ) If will give you low-speeds. And more torque Tamiya remand this motor for up grade
Would love to see a video of this mounted. Looking g😊old
Uses the same mounting points that the Blazer would have used, front bumper pegs going into the front of the frame, body post coming up through the rear of the bed. I have a newer video showing it painted
The jeep “Brute” by American expedition vehicles is the real life version. Also, I have an Scx10 chassis with injora portal axles and the wheelbase is too short. Is it fairly easy to extend the wheelbase to make this work? It looks like I’ll have to move the rear shock towers back further as well
If you are using the original SCX10 chassis, it will be hard to get that to work with that transmission because you will have to do a lot of cutting. All you have to do to extend the wheelbase is to put longer links on the rear
@@oddsandendsrc Well, once i get the trans mounted i'll either trim, or purchase a LCG transmission. Have you found many accessories specific to this body? I have found lighted mirrors that integrate well. Injora has some tubular doors that i believe would work as well.
what size upper and lower links did you use ?
Have you gone thru how you mount the bed. The only thing I’m not sure of. Great truck and great vids. Watched the show all the time.
I’m not sure how the bed mounts?
The bed mounts with the 2 body post that originally mounted the blazer in the floor, or you can use the rear bumper mounts also.
I love CA glue I huff it brah 👍
