Crochet a Knit Look Colorful Colorado Beanie with Pompom! Crochet Tutorial #crochet #crochetbeanie
Colorado has my heart! I was totally inspired by all the fun trucker hats I've seen with mountain scenes and the Colorado state flag letter C in traditional and alternative color palettes, so I decided to design a Colorful Colorado beanie in crochet using stranded colorwork! This beanie has a super cute knit look, a folded brim (Aka: warm and toasty!), and I topped it with a fun yarn pom pom that I demo'd on my channel a couple weeks ago! It's a perfect sporty crochet hat for all the Colorado fans in your life!
Stranded colorwork is so much fun to crochet, but what to do with all those balls of yarn and floats?! How about those color charts?! No need to stress... I walk you through all th...

How to make a Yarn PomPom that Doesn’t Fall Apart!
Просмотров 390Год назад
I love a good yarn pom pom! Who doesn't? They're super cute on top of a beanie or as an embellishment on crochet or knit blankets, pillows, amigurumi... you name it! There are tons of uses for these little gems, but let's face it, they don't normally rank up there with the most durable of handmade items. Let's change that! After a game of cat vs. extra-large pom pom on the corner of a handmade ...

Thank you, friend! 💛
Thank you! 🥰
This was SUCH a well-done video! Well thought-out, intelligent; you answered all the questions I had. I'm a bookbinder, so am choosing the Glocusent light for task lighting. Being lit in only one direction from my floor lamp is not cutting it! A couple of things that swayed me away from choosing LumosLumos was the length of the light wands. They seem too long for what I need. I'm sure you can gooseneck them to make them shorter, but for my purposes I just don't need the length. I can see how that might be a desirable feature for other applications. The other thing is, I sheepishly admit, the colors that Glocusent provided! I loved being able to get pink (and a blue one for a friend). It's a small joy, but it made me buy! I'm sending you a little $thank-you$ for your very helpful video. You're an excellent communicator! 🥰
Thank you so much! This made my day. I really didn’t expect to find so many unique differences in each of the lights when I set out to compare them. I agree that investing in the right light is definitely application specific. I’m glad I could help you make an informed choice. Hope you love your Glocusent, and I’m completely humbled by the Super Thanks! 🥰
True
Every time! 😂
I’m really into crocheting pumpkins this year. This stitch makes such a beautiful fabric so useful for other applications. Appreciate the tutorial to get the stitches down. And as far as charging for patterns? I so agree! Any artistic creator is due a reward for their work no matter what it is. I do some crochet designs for my own use and it takes time to work out the plan.
I’m so glad you found the tutorial! I get obsessed with making them too! Fortunately, they make great gifts for friends so I always have an outlet for them. Who doesn’t love pumpkins, after all!?!! 🎃 I so appreciate your comment about paid patterns. I wish I could make time for a blog in my life and be in a position to monetize that way, but for now, I try to balance my crochet business with family and my regular 9-5, so it’s the best way for me to start to build a meaningful income until a time when I can make the leap to full time crochet. I also put in a ton of work to pack my written patterns full of helpful photos and explanations to make those pumpkins come out perfectly from the first try! It’s fun, but you’re right, it takes time!
❤
You are a great teacher. Thanks for your patience. Blessings.😅
@jtelford2290 Thank you kindly! Blessings to you too! 🥰

Thank you for the thorough reviews on all three neck lights. I think the Lumos Lumos is the best option for me. It seems like it'll allow me to read and journal at night without waking up my roommate. The slightest bit of light and my roommate will wake up. Lol Perhaps with the Lumos Lumos I can still read books and journal at night without disrupting my roommate sleeping. *fingers crossed* lol
It was definitely the most adjustable of the three. Good luck! 🥰
Stai benissimo con i tuoi capelli naturali @alpenglowbasin
Thank you! You’re so kind 🥰
Can i use dk cotton yarn or acryllic
Personally, I prefer cotton for these, but 100% YES, both will work! Just check your length with the slight differences in weight and add or subtract a couple of foundation stitches, if needed, to optimize the length.
@@alpenglowbasin thank you ❤️🙏
I just finished my rows with you and I absolutely love this pattern!!! Thank you so much!
That’s so great to hear! Thank you and Happy Fall! 🙏
@@alpenglowbasinto you as well!!!
@@alpenglowbasin And I just got your cup cozy off Etsy!! Lovely patterns there!
Awww, thank you so much! Hope you love it! 🥰
How to put batteries in
The Lizard Light is the only one that requires replacement batteries. They are under a small plate on the thickest part that sits on the back of the neck. The other two have rechargeable batteries. They come with a cord and you can plug them in to recharge them. How that helps! 🥰

Hello! I made your small pumpkin based on your tutorial, but need to know for a small pumpkin, how many do you chain for the foundation chain and how many rows? And for your large pumpkin, how much do you chain for the foundation chain and how many rows does it take to make a large pumpkin? I’m not finding the link to your free pattern?
So glad you enjoyed the tutorial 🥰 The paid, advertisement free, .pdf is available for a small fee in my Etsy or Ravelry shop @alpenglowbasin or from the link in the video description. You’ll find all the info you are looking for in the pattern. I don’t publish patterns for free at this time. My apologies if you already know this, but bloggers who offer patterns for “free” are making money from the advertising you are shown while you are visiting their blog posts.
Love this stitch! Great pumpkin tutorial! Thank you!❤❤❤
Thank you! Thanks for watching 🥰
Great Tutorial Th Ankh You
You are so welcome.🙏
I absolutely love this tutorial & appreciate your time & effort of sharing this with fellow crocheters 🥹😁 when you use the fluffier yarn, did you change the hook size? Im currently in the middle of making some wristlets using your tutorial & cant wait to see how they turn out & will definitely give you all the credit & show pics if i can 😊🫶🏾
Thanks for your kind words! I’m so glad you found the tutorial. 🥰 I do go up in hook size when using a thicker yarn. I recommend using the one suggested on the yarn label or maybe one size smaller to make sure you get acceptable stitch definition. You also might want to experiment with fewer starting chains since the thicker yarn might also cause your wristlet to be too long. Have fun and tag me @alpenglowbasin on IG or FB if you post pics there. Can’t wait to see!
@@alpenglowbasin I used the 4mm hook & it came out so stinking cute, I'm in love 🥰 I'll try a couple more in different hook sizes & see what happens 🫣😏Awesome, I sure will!! 🫶🏾🥂
Perfect! Glad it worked out. I can tell you, they’re very addictive! 🥰
@@alpenglowbasinOMG yes they are lol I've made 4 wristlets in different colors, working on the 5th one & I love love love them, I've even made matching scrunchies 🥰💙🧶
Love that! They’d definitely make amazing scrunchies! 🥰🙏

Thank You for being sooo helpful!,,😋❤️
You’re very welcome! 🥰
Love this pattern. But could you tell me how to get the leather tabs?.. Thank You!!
Thank you, I just made a slew of them this weekend for fall market! I make my tags from faux leather or from light weight leather strips I purchase through Tandy Leather online. They are a bit of a chore to make though. I found these on Etsy that are the correct size and have the right number of holes for sewing. I’ve posted my affiliate link to the listing below and in the description box. If you decide to try them, please let me know how they work out for you! Rating is 5-stars as of posting this comment…. creatoriq.cc/3MFfxDf

What an amazing blanket! Where can i find/buy the pattern?
Thank you so much! You can find the pattern in my Etsy Shop @alpenglowbasin or directly here creatoriq.cc/43o6MUC 🥰
It’s so amazing to learn your stitches may I know what is the name of your yarn ty
Thank you! So glad you enjoyed the tutorial! I am using 24/7 Cotton from LionBrand Yarns. It is the CYC4 version (aka worsted) and not the DK version.
Can you use double knit? Or worsted weight?
Absolutely! You might find you need to adjust your initial st count up a couple sts with Dk, but it would work great! I like my sts to be well defined for these, so you could play with hook size too! You’re going for about 8-9 inches of length before folding it.
I like this and I like to do it with 2 colors. How to do that?
Thank you! It’s such a fun make. I cover color changes and various color scheme options in the full pattern available on Etsy or Ravelry. Here’s the link to the pattern on Etsy creatoriq.cc/3oM8U9L
I changed mine up a little bit. Love this project ❤
I love that you made it your own! If you post on IG or FB, tag me @alpenglowbasin, I’d love to see! 🥰
Thank you for sharing your pattern, Can I make it longer and use a different yarn ??
Absolutely! I have used plush yarns and a couple others, ultimately, the mercerized cotton was my favorite, but many others work well!
So pretty ❤
Thank you! They are still the thing I look most forward to getting out of storage in the fall! 🍂🍁🥰
What size of d hooks do u use ..is 1 in d hook to big
I find that a 4mm (US G6) hook works great for this project! You want you gauge to be on the tighter side for the yarn you are using to make sure you get good stitch definition.
Thanks
my sisters want me to make them one after seeing mine lol i love this!!
That’s so great! Good thing they’re quick to make 😂
