What’s did you torque spec the bolts too? I read 8lb

Looking to do this on my car but i want to replace the bolts that go in pan due to rust any idea of what that part number is?

Is there a sequence to put the bolts backs on or truck because I cannot get the 2 horizontal bolts to line up

The fun part for me was the compress bolts. A little trouble getting them out. To get them back 'i had to use the gasket from a tube, file down the air compress bracket that butts up next to the oil pan flange and clean the air compress bold guides where the bolts exit to go to the bracket. This way everything would line back up. Good luck with your replacement project.

Great video. I still have my 2008 and saw the wet rusty oil pan when I was replacing the exhaust. After dealing with rusty nuts on the exhaust manifold/converter, this video shows it should be easy to replace the oil pan. Thanks for sharing your work!

How many bolt holes is your oil pan? I have a 2007 and the replacement pans on rockauto are either 22 or 23 bolts. It's hard to count while underneath the car without having a lift! Thanks for this much needed video. Now I have to decide if I'm going to spend the money on the new pan or try to patch the rusted cracks that are leaking! (Basically in the same exact spot as in your video)

I have a 96 civic hatch, cat is going bad and is making the car run shitty. Im planning to remove the cat and completely gut it. Will I have to bypass the o2 sensor to get it run properly

The fuel sending unit and or float level is adjustable. If it has been changed it may not be reading correctly. I would fill the tank and reset your trip meter then run it 100 miles top off the tank and see what you are getting for fuel mileage. See if that is close to what you get half tank or less.

I have a quick question. I have a 2011 Nissan Altima and been have the car since November. I noticed few weeks ago when I put half of tank of gas in the car, the gas gauge stay half a gallon but the gauge would go down fast. I went to the mechanic and have them use the reader to see if anything was wrong with it. They said it was nothing wrong with it. Do you think that I need to replace fuel pump or the wiring?

I had a shop tell me they had to take out the whole engine to do this. Wtf 😒😒

I have a universal fit converter for this car with matching CA EO numbers. However, I can't see how it would be possible to install it. That is unless you are supposed to unbolt the old converter from the manifold and cut off both flanges from the converter and then weld them to the new convertor. Is that possible?

Perfect timing! Our AC went out and the first thought was getting the car to the mechanic. Then I saw your video and it jogged my memory when the same issue happened on a car I owned 35 years ago. Same relay-swap trick worked then and now, and only $8 later we have AC again. Thanks!

Ac compresor has no good ventilation due to it's location. Get's too Hot and burns the clutch.

What’d you use to clean the head area of corrosion before installing gasket?

LOL, I can't believe that was so simple. I've had other vehicles where it's pretty well hidden under the dash, but anyways, thank you very much. That was annoying as hell. Fresh oil and filter and ready to go another 1,600 miles in the next week.

Where is the oil pan gasket? Oil pan gasket is used or only sealant is used.

on factory manifolds is the catalytic converter and manifold one unit?

I can't get the AC compressor bracket to realign properly. All the bolts match up but the two cross bracket bolts don't match up. Any suggestions?

Who believes that this engine was used on Ford Fusion, Mendeo, Lincoln LS and Jaguar as well as Mazda MPV and still been in use to this day with twin turbo on Rossion Q1 generating 500 HP as well as the Noble 400. It's a phenomenal engine but the accessories around are crappy. It's more tidy set in the Jaguar as it's a luxury car. BTW, the water pump is identical on all these cars between 2001-2009 some models earlier but the tensioner pulley varies.

Tech4Tech, Did the water pump lock up because the plastic impeller had broke and logged between the block & housing? My daughter has one that’s not leaking but runs hot after 3/4 - 1 mile of some stop & go traffic from dead cold. Guess who’s job it is now? Thanks! So I have the 3.0 and I've noticed that the other liter Mazda 6 has the water pump on the other side of the engine and also youd need to drop the engine when taking out the water pump. Is this not the case for the 3.0??
