Can the piper crash if fuel is passed from one to the other ,one having 40 gallons and just loaded 4o gallons to one tank only ,can that make this plane crash ? Jfk Jr had the same plane and crashed . Can his plane out of control , making it impossible to gain control
In the PA-44 POH it says that the "two position gear selector" just turns on the pump and the pump itself is reversable to bring the gear up or down. The gear handle doesn't control the position of the shuttle or check valves. Quote from the Rev1 2016 edition of the POH, "When hydraulic pressure is exerted in one direction the gear is retracted, when exerted in the other direction the gear is extended."
Do we know how accurate the fuel qty is on the EIS? Is there some sort of fudge factor? For example, can we say the fuel quantity on the MFD is within 10 percent accuracy higher or lower than actual fuel quantity.
just like analog gauges, we do not trust these with our lives. We do always verify the fuel level physically first, then reference the MFD. The fuel totalizer that calculates fuel usage is actually quite accurate. This can be checked/monitored over time if you verify fuel consumption after each flight. Then after dipping the tanks to see how much you have consumed, compare this to the totalizer.
Hi Aaron cool presentation! The theory of electricity - AMP example was a really good one (explanation of the weights). Question: What would cause overvoltage? and what preventative measure can we take?
Overvoltages or surges can be caused by a couple things, faulty voltage regulator in the alternator is probably a good place to start but it can even be things like lightning strikes or static energy buildup if we're missing static wicks.
In your opinion, what would be the most helpful MFD function that you did not speak on? Also, how accurate is the weather in flight, is there any weather page that we can not use in flight?
That really depends what situation you find yourself in on flight or in the ground. When you're briefing an airport, the airport info page is great, when you're looking for traffic, the traffic option on the map is awesome, etc. Anything you'd do with an e6B or foreflight, the G1000 most likely has that function. Onboard weather is accurate, however it can be ~15 mins old so it may not reflect the wx at the exact moment you look at it
Thank you for that amazing video, any chance you are willing to share that presentation? Thanks again
So is the hydro pump reversible to put pressure on either side of the shuttle valve?
Hey mate, squat switches don't contact on the ground. They contact as weight comes off the landing gear and the strut then expands.
Great info but the barking dogs are distracting as shit
Thank you for making this video. It's very clearly explained and well organized.

Thanks man! Exactly what I was looking for. Great details as well!
Annoying dogs
Awesome and informative video, but My brain will only let me hear the dog barking. Can you record inside next time?
Great job on the presentation.

Hi Aaron, could you share the special airworthiness information bulletin on circuit breakers?
