Visited few days ago. First the plusses. 1. Great scenic and serene location surrounded by Ajodhya hills on three sides and the water reservoir and dam on the other side. 2. Lush green lawns and gardens with chicks, ducks, peacocks and emus roaming around. 3. Nice and tasty Bengali cuisine. The minuses. 1. Accessibilty-nearest airport Ranchi is 3 hours drive. Nearest railway stations of Puruliya/Balarampur/Muri 1 and half hours drive. Last 6 km of approach road horribly bumpy, dusty and too narrow. 2. A hotel or resort's first impression comes from its reception and lobby. This one has neither of them. Only a small room serving as reception. The office building is shabby. Even considering the restrictions in making further constructions as it is in a tribal area and has govt. regulations, it could have been much better. 3. The tent fabrics have not been changed since its inception some 15 years ago. Dust in corners, we even found spiders. No provision of outside air or sunlight in the tents. Damp inside. 4. Rooms and tents don't have any tv or wi fi availability. There is only one public tv in a small common room which is poorly maintained. Visited during world cup football but could not watch the matches. 5. Staff unprofessional. Making unnecessary noises and shouting. 6. The activities as advertised in website are mostly unavailable. 7. Very few options in breakfast. The tariff of 8000/- to 11000/- they are presently charging is extremely high. Given the services offered and facilities available it should not be more than 4000/- to 6000/-. But considering the remote location and having to function under govt. restrictions the appropriate tariff should be 5000/- to 8000/-. At the present tariff there are many other much better places to visit. I won't advise anybody to shell out so much in it.
