But you never made it into 13th!
👍👍👍👍👍👍🇨🇵🇨🇵🇨🇵🇨🇵🇨🇵👏👋
Wow awesome sounding Detroit! If you ask a retired trucker something and he says "Huh?", you know he drove Detroits.
Love this truck
Thank you!
This maestro is in sync with his symphony! Well done brother
Sure beats anything you'll hear on the radio
So awesome 😊😊😊😊
sweet music to my Ears
This is how we white boys have fun 🇺🇸🆎🇺🇸
Never get enough of them sounds.....
13 speed best ever
Shes a gem my friend... Absolutely awesome... 😊😊😊😊
Beautiful truck . Must be a joy to drive on long trips 😊
No driver has ever fallen asleep with the 318/13 speed if he was loaded running in the mountains and hills…….his hand never leaves the shifter unless he was turning a corner….back then we didn’t have power steering, power windows, power mirrors or ac……my first was a 58 diamond T with a 190 Cummins, then a 66 international cab over with the big 220 Cummins, then I got a 71 trans star with the 318/13 speed, then I went to work for a company going from nh to nyc 5 nights a week…..they put me in a brand new Volvo white with a 350 cummins 10 speed power steering ac….then I got a new 84 359 Pete with a 400 cat 15 speed deep reduction……never went back, had 4 more new Pete’s all with cats…last one was a 2010 379 with 600 cat, seafood from Boston to California and produce back to Chelsea……I got out in 2015…. Miss the road !
I envy you guys who had fathers that got you enthused on diesels, driving them and all the little perks. Thank you for sharing your videos with me, I sure enjoyed them.
Never tire of listening to that sweet tune , n watching the shift work .....
Sounded
I only drove one 318 with a 13 speed in my 50 year career but it was in a 73 Freightliner cabover and founded just as sweet
This is one cool sounding truck I like these old school trucks it defines what trucking is
The sound of the engine is exciting and the shift times are excellent. I enjoyed very much.
Awful video, great driving
De verdad a estos motores hay que acelerar les tanto?
Yes indeed
And he's not speed shifting that's how you drove a Detroit
Every time I watch these videos with these Detroit's and puts a smile on my face it brings back so many fond memories of my driving career
Letter rip tater chip
This is an old skool' driva here, much respect in driving skills. As for that screaming 318 jimmy "Pure music"
Thank you! I still have the ‘ol girl.
Bullet proof engines
A 1967 Kenworth , Detroit 8v71 with a beautiful interior ! It doesn't get any better than that ! 👍🏻
Thank you. All original period correct. Some gauges were replaced and drivers’s seat cover.
Music 🎶
I had a 66 with an 8v92 and a 13 speed. what memories, I run my computer though my stereo. just like being in the cab. thanks for the memories!
that was a ton of fun!
That Detroit talking
Make a lot of noise and take a long time to get there and back.
That’s relative to the period. Try pulling a 40’ cattle trailer loaded with beef in 1967 on the main highway now considered pig trails and average 45-50mph on a 600 mile run. You had to stand on the floorboard and pull that load around those switchbacks.
1969 gmc 238 hp 80000+lbs gross many trips. I was glad it was mostly flat terane. If it was really windy you couldn't pull it empty in high gear. I learned really well how to use what was there.
My truck has 4:63 SQHD gears with the RTO9513 tranny. Top speed 74mph empty. 👍🏻
the sound make tears in my eyes. I retired after 45 yrs driving for a living.
Bad to the bone making that Detroit sing and great shifting that man's a veteran trucker.
Bad Ass reminds me of my daddy in heaven 😢
That " Under-Hood " was Beautiful AND immaculate .
😊 Thank you
Sick
So sick. It's literally music to me. I'm going to get a gmc 9500 someday soon to pull out seiners
We had white 4000’s with 318’s in them with 13 sp Eaton fuller road ranger
Ever time I hear this I think bout daddy n heaven yall, wen I would ride as a little boy,I miss him
We too still enjoy the times we rode with our dad. I started when I was 4yrs old in an ‘64 IH Emeryville, he hauled cattle and did flatbeds. The best is watching him shift to keep you on pins and needles as he drove those old 2-lane highways back then. In the new system, we’ll see our loved ones again and rejoice over our great times. Bill
Learned on a 318,in 1983, this brings back memories. I wonder why they gave up on the 2 cycle?
How sweet does that sound !!
Greta thunberg is highly upset. And I love it😅
Beautiful peice of mechanical history 💯 gorgeous truck
I would love to have your cover on my Spotify playlist ❤
The Detroit sound has no equal. Here in Brazil we had the 4 cylinder engine in Chevrolet trucks in the 60's or 70's. The name of the truck was Chevrolet Brasil.
WoW Yes. Thank you. Love that sound . My house shakes when i listen detroit diesel.
Isn’t a 318 an 8V71?
