Very cool (to me at least) that your process was so straight forward that one only had to watch to catch what you did for any given part. No voice over or text popping up, just "Watch and see". Nice pic and nicely done.
Thank you.
What is the blue stuff that's already on the page in the top right corner of the water. It looks like u used wax or something cos it repels the water
Hi, it's Pebeo masking fluid (there are other brands), you can find it plenty of places online or possibly in your local art store. As you say it protects the paper and then you just peel it off when you want to paint the protected bits.
Thank you for replying after one of your older videos 💞
Fantastico!! Meraviglioso!!
Grazie mille.
Non ho parole... straordinario 👏👏👏👏
È magnifico!! Complimenti!!
Snyggt jobbat 👍 Jag tycker också om dem ,att plocka ,äta eller måla😂
Tack så mycket!
Stunningly beautiful. Thanks for sharing your process
Thank you. Hopefully it might inspire someone to give it a try.
Gorgous!
Thank you!
As a mushroom hunter, the end result of your painting made my mouth water! I can practically smell them.
Thank you! I usually manage to do a few mushroom paintings in the autumn. I enjoy the challenge.
Exceptionally beautiful👌👌👌
Thanks you. Glad you appreciate my work!
Every piece of good work or good action should be appreciated. This is a small world and we are going to be here for a very short time. But your work is not just good, it is superb. I keenly look forward to watching your tutorials. Please keep it coming🙏
Thank you again. If you're not specifically focused on watercolour I have newly started oil painting channel which YT is keeping secret from everyone at the moment, for some reason: ruclips.net/channel/UCGoyuXwaxDdEqjTJ1ukfyYw
I bounce around to too many channels and tend to watch those that get thrown up by the program. Every once in a while I cruze through those I'm subscribed to, to see if I've missed any good/new content. Well, it's been a while, but here one is and I like it. Very adaptive to let the colors separate as you did and now I have something to think about with my own work. Have a wonderful day!
Thank you. Glad you liked it and got something from it. I'm a big fan of the Schmincke Supergranulating paints in the right context.
Love this technique. Have just started back painting after not doing anything for 30 years. Your skill inspires me.
Thank you! I'm glad my work inspires you.
Very lovely sir, but it would have been infinitely better if you provided some narration in your mellifluous voice!

Another beautiful painting. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you!
Unique style. Wholly impressive.
Thank you!
Excellent!
Glad you liked it!
Absolutely marvellous 👌👌👌
Thank you!
Love the colours and the shadows turned out perfectly.
Thank you!
Vibrant!
Have no words to describe the beauty of this painting👏👏👏
I love rust ! And I love your use of acrylic ink, I’d never thought of using it as an underpainting or seen it done-I really need to get some. Great music too😊 Thank you.
Thank you so much!
Splendid !! The interplay of light and shadows on the mountains, the sheets of ice in the waters and the mossy mountain on the rights - absolutely impressive👏👏👏
Thank you so much 😀
Beautiful!
Thank you!
What an amazing process! The background came alive as you added darker layers. Beautiful. Really cool to watch. Thanks.
Thank you so much!
wow lovely lovely lovely !!
Thank you!
the texture on them look really good
Thank you!
It looks like a photograph1 Amazing!
Thank you. That's not really my intention but the process is what it is and the result turns out the way it does.
Thank you so much. As a fairly new beginner this is so helpful. I feel I could work slowly in stages with theses techniques. Thanks again for your generosity in sharing your talent. ❤
Thank you. Glad you appreciated it.
How...delicious!
It was!
It's so lovely to see those paints used by a master. This was wonderful...thank you so much for filming it.
Thank you, that's very kind. I'm really enjoying using theses paints. They do have quite a unique feel which I'm assuming is down to the somewhat unusual binding ingredients but with the right subject matter they are a joy to use.
Don't forget to like, comment and subscribe if you enjoyed this project.
Yay. Finally something those paints were perfect for! Delicious-looking painting. Glad to see you back.
Many thanks! Summers are short and sweet in Sweden, grass to be mowed, beach walks to be taken, lots of golf to be played (lot's of golf) and I've had several oil paint commissions to work through. The Gallo paints were absolutely perfect for this.
@ArtistPhil58 Summers are long and sweet here...we no longer mow the grass, as the wildlife thrives on it. We have a new fox family and a bear cub this year. Glad you and enjoying your summer, though...and especially happy that the paints found a happy home.
Snyggt, gillar hur de tjockare stammarna på slutresultatet ger djupet i bilden. Bra processvideo
It was a pleasure and also i am an avid blues fan. Well done.
Thank you.
My eyes feasted. My ears cringed.
Fair enough. I'm lucky if I can find the time to paint at the moment so there's no chance of me trawling (see what I did there?) through the interwebs for hours and hours after genuinely decent copyright free music but I will bear it in mind for future uploads :-)
@@ArtistPhil58 I think your watchers would much rather hear you speak than listen to music.
I unfortunately don't have time at the moment to record and edit a voiceover. It would mean me just not uploading anything until I don't know when.
Love. And BTW I have your brush. It’s a pastry brush and I’m getting it out of the drawer tomorrow and taking it to my studio!
Thank you. Give it a try they are great fun to do!
Total respect. Greetings from Melbourne Australia.
Thank you! My cousin lives in the Blue Mountains near Sydney. Please say hi if you bump into her :-)
@@ArtistPhil58 Bloody hell. Okay.
Beautiful 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Thank you!
Very unusual...and very beautiful!
Thank you!
I know little about acrylic and oil techniques so I don’t know what you were hoping to achieve, but I think this is so effective and well worth looking at!! 👏😃 I’m just off to dig out my old photos in a train graveyard in Bolivia- I’m inspired!
Using a grisaille is a well established technique in oils, used for hundreds of years. There are plenty of demonstrations here on YT if you wanted to have a look and I've done a couple of oil portraits that way myself and I just thought it might be fun to try it with watercolour. I'm glad it has inspired you, thank you!
I think it looks pretty decent - you defo got the rust effect looking real. I wonder, would this technique work using ink for the grisaille layer do you think? I'm subscribing anyway🥃Slàinte Mhath!
The grisaillle is done with acrylic ink but ordinary ink would work just as well I think.
It was an interesting exercise and I enjoyed watching your process. Thanks for posting this as most of us would rather not have anyone see what we think is a failure. To me this was something new learned.
I learn from my own mistakes and if somebody else can also learn from them then it makes it worthwhile.

Just lovely! That paint is amazing, isn't it? Was that...a thermometer?
Many thanks! I do like the Tundra Violet, yes. I needed a sharp object to push lines into the paper for the tree trunks and branches and the only things to hand before the paint dried were a screwdriver and a nail file. The nail file worked better in case you were wondering.
Of course. Screwdriver. Very...sensible.
I think your corn holders might even have been better still!
@@ArtistPhil58 Caan you even buy corn holders in Sweden? If not, then I suppose I will have to send you one.
Yes, but of course they're not capable of holding corn.
Amazing skill with household items and amazing use of paint -love it!
Many thanks! I usually use my ruling pen to push lines into the paper but I couldn't find it and the screwdriver and nail file were close at hand :-)
Just wonderful to watch. And convinced me I definitely need Amazonite Genuine.! Thank you so much for sharing your work.
Thank you. You're very welcome. I try to vary my palette depending on the subject matter and this was the first serious workout for the Amazonite but it won't be the last.
Lovely!
Thank you!
