It’s not often you hear the Doctor say he’s scared. Plus he tried to prep Martha for his regeneration. It’s a great but short little moment

This was the episode that got me hooked. I had a Doctor Who marathon playing in the background as I unpacked from a move just as background noise. But this episode made be stop & watch. And I’ve been watching ever since. Lots of people look down on this episode but it deserves more expect. Even I don’t watch this episode that much as I’ve grown to like others more. But this one always has a soft spot in my heart.

I feel like this episode perfectly showcases the doctor’s compassion and kindness. He literally offered to help one of his greatest enemies that had took everything from him, yet he still shown mercy. This is probably the kindest 10 has been in all honesty

In regards to what you get into at the end: "Whatcha doing, Neighbor Bob?" "Looking for a job. How about you? Do you work for a living?" "I work for money. I'm living for good friends and food and music." "I can't really argue." "Working for a living sounds sad."

There was no sequel movie made that continued this they made a video game picking up where the rescue team came to investigate however their is a prequel which was made in 2011 set in the same year as the original thing that investigated the Norwegian side of things in more detail than the original

Another interesting episode and we really start to see doing something a bit different with the daleks. Always more to see with the old enemies. Not just daleks though...

Martha Jones is such a great companion. She is so capable.

Fun fact - the writer of this episode was the showrunner of of Torchwood and wrote some of its best (Countrycide) and worst (Cyberwoman) episodes of that show. This is his first (and probably his best) Doctor Who episode - he writes several more and eventually becomes the showrunner of Doctor Who after he also made the show Broadchurch

Blair got infected out in the shack, but he had a lot of help assembling the ship. The fire wasn't killing the creature. The various parts recombined. It turned into a form that could burrow through the ice and help Blair assemble that ship.

They lost half their crew in about one hour.

I'm of the opinion that, microscopically, the creature's cells are a pushover for the immune system. Otherwise, its blitz attacks make no sense.
