How Does a Late 80s Car Drive so Nice?!
Try and get your hands on a grange bro
I think people are afraid of people getting their plate information
👍
Bonnets up, share the glory or soon to be / on its way there powerplant. Sure I've got a ve international with an Aussie LY7, I still show it, otr from orrsom pacemakers, a tidy up, catch can etc shows a standard Mr boring can clean up nicely. Especially with subtle exterior upgrades that doesn't scream I have no taste and too much time and money hahaha I wish that was me. Guaranteed, there's always someone that's got that or had that or knows a cousins sister's brother's former roommate had one and can give out little bits of advice, car people or Rev heads are my people. Wish I still had my vn and vs wagons, I do have a question though mate if I may?
We just tapped the second temp sensor into the lower half of the thermostat housing and extended the loom to reach it
Its a automatic needs manaul swapped
Victoria, the state where there are more incompetent international drivers than anywhere else
I'm not saying you should thrash the cars but flooring it once isn't considered thrashing. It gives us a good sense of how the car goes.
Just run the vt sensor under the thermostat and extend the wire
The hinges don't break, spray them with carby cleaner to clean them, then use spray grease to lube them, can be done on car but probably better to take them off,you need to work the hinges up and down to work the cleaner and lube into the joints, have repaired heaps of them this way ,never had to replace a hinge ever,if you can submerge them in parts cleaner and work the hinges its even better
I am an electrician by trade & I will tell you that a good starting point is to have both the 3.8 litre Buick L36 Ecotec & the Supercharged L67 V6 wiring diagrams so that you can marry both of the looms together. I did that in my VL Commodore 22 years ago when I built a Nissan RB30DE engine for it, I didn't need much of the VL side because it was in the Gregorys manual that we have but I needed to obtain a copy of the Nissan R32/R33 Skyline GTS wiring diagram because I used the RB25DE ECU & loom from a 1995 Nissan R33 Skyline GTS. There wasn't much involved in grafting it into the Holden loom (it was actually made by Holden, not Nissan) such as the fuel pump & ignition relay coil supply & because I grafted what was needed including the start signal from the starter motor solenoid terminal, the inline resistor for the Nissan RB30E ECU was given the snip because it was dropping the voltage to the R33 Skyline GTS ECU which was making the engine harder to start. Other gear includes a soldering iron, wire cutters/strippers, solder, heat shrink tubing,a multimeter for continuity testing & a heat gun, not to forget the electrical tape & conduit. A lot of the wires I didn't use because the wiring harness came from an automatic car & mine is a manual car,all of the engine management sensor connectors for the R33 Skyline GTS were retained because they were different to the Nissan RB30E connectors plus the twin cam cylinder head didn't have a provision for a distributor !
My engine bay isn’t often as clean as the rest of my car… I’ve a 308 stroked to a 355 in my VC commodore and when ppl find out it’s not an Ls in the car, they’re actually often keen as mustard to see the motor. My Holley sniper has them asking lots of questions lol
loving these daily videos
@@gabe7542 thanks mate!
@@gabe7542 not easy to do though haha but I’m definitely trying 4 or so a week!
@@commodoreman1Focus on quality over quantity is my advice, and look after yourself too
victoria what do you expect
Well done with everything you do to make sure it happens bring alot of joy 😊
@@ianmccarthy4195 thanks Ian! Love the car!
GM product. It's so odd to see rebadged US cars in different countries. Blows my mind. Apparently, they were faster than our Pontiacs too. We all knew the body was designed in Australia when released; it looked so weird ― far too round after Pontiac's previous Trans-Am. The reason is that Australin Michael Simcoe is GM's Global Design Chief. He is also partly to blame for GM's huge shift to all-electric; while the Japs are working on hydrogen powered V8s ―Yamaha. Which I think was a better decision because of infrastructure and conversion capabilities.
Ute with a boot no tray a boot
Good on ya mate. Life’s not all about money, in saying that I’d advise you to invest in super or something similar to provide for your future. The sooner you have that working for you the better. Doing something you love that pays the bills is awesome. I’d say one of the the reason your videos are so watchable is because you come across as very genuine and honest. Best of luck.
where do you get all these cars to drive from ?
All from followers :)
@@commodoreman1 had a feeling, cheers
Love the wh i recently got a wh hsv grange for under 5k registered running like the are so underrated! I wonder in 10 plus yrs time with they be more sort after as they all getting scrapped for parts
To think most family cars now days have more power 😂
A holden what now
You mean 6 speed manual ;)
RAV4 drivers are all braindead. Every single one of them.
I'm so happy for you mate! Congrats on taking the chance and onwards and upwards!! Loving the content mate. Keep it coming!!!!
If it was me just use the old vs v6 loom extend the injection plugs and temp sensor wires
Being a vs loom I wouldnt say that wire is temp
❤ dailying my LS1 Stato.
I have the WL Stato 3.6, will do 1,000 km' on a tank 😮. Some faux woodgrain, paddle shift, that I don't use cause I can't hear the engine due to 5 stainless mufflers after the cats (still original) and premium 11 speaker sound system. At 230k km's it should be due for cam chains, even have the parts, replaced thermostat at rear of engine using mirrors. We all want power but 190 KW gets it going good enough, like driving a cloud. The low outer driving light's come with the indicators, computer allows for alot of adjusting like save your speakers if too much bass or window's go up at 120 kph. Saw the Arab drifters throwing the V8's at 240 kph😂.
What ecu would you be using, The VS one or the VT one?
We had this body shape and styling offered as a Chevrolet Constantia de Ville in South Africa 🇿🇦 by GM before they disinvested due to Apartheid
Hey Deacon quick question not sure if you will read this but. Is a 3800 ecotec v6, vt or vs alright for a first car, my old man says just stick with a 4cyl but i cant convince him even though his first car was a gts 350 in the 80s 😂. I reckon the 6 is fuel efficent enough, and I know the engine is pretty reliable as well and what kms would be your max
Haha you’re asking the wrong person mate I definitely think itbis
Honestly the Statesman/Caprice line is my favourite line of Holden. Luxury so much room. They are sleeper cars in my opinion because most people don't realise how great they are.
Enjoying your Vids 👍
I turbocharged a few of these back in the day......
we used to be a country
Appreciate the content
To be honest, at that point I wouldn't have even bothered with turning right. I would have just turned left and driven a lap around just to get out of the way.
Wanted one but too expensive for my income at the time
Can’t wait for ya to get even bigger on RUclips so u can come on over to Sydney and film some of my rare commodores !!!
I wouldn't trust the colour of the wire if it's been spliced in just back track and clean it up , but it looks fairly factory length for that sensor. im guessing it's for that sensor if it is a vs loom
Toyota drivers are the slowest I'm not even joking.
These were the last of the Ian Callum designed commodores , these and the utes are obviously derived from Ian's designs. The WL was in my opinion the most sorted and refined since the VT which started it all in that body shape. The one to look for is the 6ltr. Very rare as they were built toward the end of the WL run. My pick would be the HSV Grange 6ltr...if you can find one and be prepared to pay for it too.
Keep the videos coming bro, love seeing all the iconic and classic Aussie cars you get your hands on 🤙🏼
Great cruiser, not sure about the fuel
@@jimclarke1108 from memory it was aroun 11-13L/100, same as the new Hyundai I had a few weeks ago
I'm glad you can do this mate. I'll watch. I really wanna see the l67 in though
