@womerremow6554 i used schafers 248 w moly. You can use the 238 as well. Any grease w moly though should be good to go. The grease is used was almost black. More like a dark gray. If u can't get schafers grease just get a dark hi temp grease w moly. I put on a glove and soaked my hand in it. I then rubbed it on the chain. My chain never broke and still hasn't. If it stalls due to improper tuning that can also break your chain as well. Don't hit the gas at all when starting neither.

@JimCooper-f8g you could but not necessary tbh. If u wanna use gear oil just simply lift rear wheel up and use a toothbrush to really get it in the chain. Then use a rag and clean up drips. If using chain lube that sticks. Heat the chain up by going for a ride lift wheel and spray it. When lubing though you should always clean it first. Saves your o-rings from wearing out prematurely. Me personally though i wouldn't drill a hole. Depending on the chain and sprocket too it will rub on the case some and wear it out a bit. Then the chain guard will not fit over bigger chain and sprocket. You could do that though w stock chain sprocket etc. Again if it were me I wouldn't do it though. W a toothbrush it doesn't take long. Now what you could do is install a reservoir say for brake fluid. Fill it with oil for chain. Then use a primer ball say off a 2 stroke chainsaw weed Wacker etc. Run a tube to primer then to above chain. Zip tie it above chain on frame or wherever u like. Then you have an oiler you can easily use while riding. Now that's something I would do. If I were to be worried about oiling etc.

@nekiagriffith you need the battery pack to hook up to the wires in the zip up compartment. It should be in the zippered compartment. It's an easy to miss zipper on the side and inside. You charge it via the mini USB plug on the inside front. That's pretty cool that the school gave them away. The batman one is sweet too for sure. Hope this helps

@rolandtamaccio3285 I got my fuel pressure gauge working. Pump is losing pressure and psi keeps fluctuating. It's OK though as I'm ditching the stock 5.0 setup. You are right though, however they were reading correct to an extent. The fuel pressure regulator was adjusted way too low.

@@whitetailfox1 you are correct, they have 4 jets instead of 1. If I remember correctly I think they started that design on the exploders. I could have that wrong though.

fuel injector cleaner never hurts and neither does replacing the fuel filter. i will say if you store it for any length of time or put it away for winter months use only ethanol free. all of the fuel stabilizer products are simply bs and you dont need them. they also dont work if you break the skin by starting moving etc. all it does it put a film on top of the gas to prevent the ethanol from wicking moisture. thanol free is the only way to go if you have access to it. heck yeah buddy get out there and get her going. whenh you post your video lmk ill def check it out. ill have another update soon enough for sure. dont worry the saga even now continues lol.

the led headlight was 50, the fairing was 80 i think, the bags and the brackets were 330 bucks so all in 460. worth every penny for sure. where i live you need bags due to the weather. the temp changes like crazy from am to pm. ill never own a bike w no bags. everything was purchased off amazon except the brackets. i got those off ebay. be sure to look at the kits though as some are not complete.

@@parkersgarage4216 Hey... thanks for the reply... I spent a good hour looking for the brackets... I found the saddle bags, but the brackets i can't find. I will take look on ebay. I really like how your bike looks. i just got my bike two years ago. and I have done a few mods here and there, and putting the saddle bags was something i found hard to do, until I saw your video. thanks for sharing your vision. @@aarongarner8452 im sorry to hear you dont have it anymore. What color was yours?it'll be a while before I sell it for sure. I wanted a clean project myself which is hard as hell to find. If I do sell it's not gonna be cheap. I wouldnt ask 10k for it but it would be more than 6500. If you keep an eye out you may find one worthy of purchase. Surprisingly enough though they are pretty hard to find now a days. I'll keep u in mind though if I change my mind. I've had a few myself I regret selling as well. I'd suggest buying while you can. The prices are getting out of hand. Once I get the misfire fixed I'm buying a new headliner, carpet, and all new seals. I will prob paint it first though. I haven't decided if I want to go back to the stock vermillion red or go with reef blue. The more I think about it the more I like the idea of going back red. Ya never know though I may decide to sell it. I tend to do some silly things sometimes lol. I was debating swapping the engine but the 5.0 sound to me is so iconic. That's awesome that you found another answer...so, are you going to remove the EGR, smog pump and block off the back of the heads? If you look up "1985 Mustang Jack Wilson" on RUclips you can see mine--I'm debating on whether to move forward or sell it on...I should probably adopt your hard-nosed attitude and move forward with it.

@comedysem9450 I ran a 28mm mikuni flatslide. Air screw I never touched. I changed the pilot jet for sure. Don't remember if I changed main. I'll check to see what jets I have to possibly figure out sizes I used. Don't give up just yet. I promise it's worth the headache. What I used in mine though most likely won't work for you. It'll be a start though. The stock jets you have in it are also a start. What's giving you trouble?

i agree, the stormin norman and the twin turbo hoods are just ugly. personally my favorite is the 2.5" cowl hood.

It came with Lincoln calipers in the front--I want to change them over to stock rebuilt front calipers and a stock size master cylinder...It's not idling when you first start it up... Than the idle surges until it's warmed up a bit... I've replaced the intake air temperature sensor and the coolant temperature sensor so far, which has helped a bit. I'm wondering if an injector or two is fouled and whatever else might be wrong with it (Perhaps a vacuum leak). It has a Ford e-cam which only complicates things a bit more. I've seriously thought of selling it on but don't want to give up on it completely... It's an '86 with a rather good condition body and paint... Plus a Saleen body kit complete with a poser windshield banner which will be removed.

@@andrewlopson3394 gotta love the poser mods ya know lol. funny im fighting a similar issue. mine runs like shit at first startup and surges from 5-1500 rpm for about 2-3 minutes. after that it idles fine. it was much worse in the very beginning though for sure it wouldnt even idle for shit. i replaced the cap, rotor, plugs and wires, coil, ect, act, and the temp sensor on the manifold. new tps and iac and i also replaced the bad capacitors in the pcm. its gotten better but still same issue. only thing left is 02's, injectors, fuel pressure regulator, and fuel filter. my issue is i dont know if it has a cam in it. previous owner said no but he also told me it had 410 gears which it has 373. my problem is misinformation along w shit new parts. even these new parts they sell are pretty much garbage. im really about to just go holley terminator x and be done w it. i also replaced all vacuum lines as the ones that were there werent leaking but all were cracked. ive about had enough already. im seriously thinking terminator x and be done w all the bs. the other thing i know is that sometimes these cars will sound like they have a cam in them but dont. its sad you cant get oem stuff anymore. these aftermarket parts are just junk. itll be nice once i figure this mf out. the terminator x though is looking real good. good luck figuring yours out. brakes are an easy fix though for sure.
