Unboxing the all NEW Specialized EPIC 8 Expert XC bike!
Просмотров 2,1 тыс.Месяц назад
As some of you may know, I'm an ambassador for Specialized, and I just got my new Epic 8 Expert in! I couldn't be more stoked that this bike is an absolute XC beast. It will take over for my Diverge and Chisel as I'll be racing Mammoth Tuff in September on it. I've ridden my fair share of hardtails and XC bikes, and without a doubt, this one is my favorite. That "magic middle" setting everyone ...
A NEW DECKED 2.0 System for 2000 - 2006 First Gen Toyota Tundras!
Просмотров 2,8 тыс.6 месяцев назад
Decked has never offered a drawer system for the first-generation Toyota Tundras (2000-2006) until now....sort of. So, I went back and forth with Decked to find the best option for the 1GT. Most people have been modifying the 2011 Ford F150 and Econoline Van drawers, but you must cut into the ammo cans and modify the entire top plate. The 2020-Current Toyota Tundra drawers are a near-perfect fi...
ESSENTIAL Modification for any 2000-2006 1st Gen Toyota Tundra - Baja Designs Fog Light Install!
Просмотров 9 тыс.6 месяцев назад
There are almost no solutions for us 2000-2006 1st gen Tundra owners if you want a better fog light that's plug-and-play. That's why I decided to find a good bolt-in solution for Baja Designs Squadrons and discovered that the Ford/Toyota Fog Pocket Light Mount Kit For Squadron Lights (linked below) works perfectly. I will also show you how to install a Baja Designs 30" OnX6 Light bar! This setu...
How to build the CHEAPEST Overland Truck Bed Camper Shell sleeping platform!
Просмотров 1,7 тыс.8 месяцев назад
Welcome to my latest project, a 2006 Toyota Tundra TRD Offroad 4x4! We're going overland camping this weekend for Thanksgiving, and I needed a way to sleep in our truck bed since we don't have a tent anymore, so I figured out how to build the most simple sleeping platform possible in our camper shell. Follow along to learn how to build one of these sleeping platforms in your truck! Materials us...
Overlanding to Oregon to see how Leatherman Tools are made!!
Просмотров 1,8 тыс.9 месяцев назад
Leatherman invited me up to see their facility and how they make their tools. So Olivia and I left Southern California and headed up the 395 so we could camp and go offroad on our way to Portland. This would also be our first real test of the new Falken Wildpeak RT01 tires we had just put on. I was so impressed with how well they handled both on and off the road. They have all the benefits of a...

Making a pizza on an Ooni Koda in 30 seconds
Great bike! Could you tell me please how tall are you? I am asking cause I am in between M and L frame, thank you
I’m 6’0
Any news on the alloy and how it will be spec’d? Thanks
You’ll have to wait and see!
who makes that bed rack.
No idea
Backroadsvanner has some very excellent build tips for simple camping. He has a Chevy, I think he might be an electrician.
Can you have the transmission fluid analyzed pre-purchase, like you can the engine oil? Thanks.
Thank you
Very good, thank you!! I’ve ruled out the Chevy as the rear axle can not be easily modified. I also want a minimalist bike homebase, for dispersed type camping. Don’t need 4x4, or maybe even lift. Ford it is! I wouldn’t mind diesel but I the fumes get to me. Don’t want DEF. What’s newest good year/engine with that in mind?
A 2014 with a v10
Nice,i have a awd ,lifted express with locker
Nothing beats know-how. We bought a 2001 Sportsmobile e250 on the cheap. It does well but i wish i had the freedom you do with customization. If youre ever in WA again and wanna do some 2x4 econoline-overlanding, I'd love a mentor :D
I wish my Sportsmobile had the sliding door.
What if the tire goes flat - slow leak that you didn’t notice after a ride?
Your bike would still be there
What no test drive to show us the van??? Ill overlook the extreme pain you caused if you post a Test drive video of how the van drives now, shifts steers and off roads on dirt trails or gravel roads.
Well you’d have to go to my channel and watch the other videos
I may not agree with snakes but I respect their right to vote
I’m not even sure what that means
Get some captains chair swivels
Dystopia soundtrack would have been better 😊
I agree but no can do. They love money and id get a copyright strike
Mine is 26 lbs exactly with basic Shimano clipless pedals
Yup same just weighed it yesterday
How bad ass how much your van looks like that vehicle in tango and cash movie
Sick build. I have a similar build stumpy Evo. I need to put a coil on it
weigh it :)
What size is frame?
Large
I have a real grown up one if your interested we can help!
I’m not even sure what that means
Wow what a beautiful bike and a great build . Some day I’m going to have a stumpjumper again .. great bikes.
i'd like to know what's the purpose of the teflon tape when installing the bb.. 😁
Keeps water and grit out of the threads
@@brakeforsnakes ok..thank you for this..now i'm gonna start doing that on all my builds..😁
Do it! Looks way meaner. Put in some LEDs too!
Badass! I’d love a setup like that some day
Wow! What a build! 🔥🔥🔥
Only the best for this one 😉
I can't believe Specialized isn't making the EVO anymore 😢. I have a 23 Pro build. Hopefully I'll be able to find an EVO frame later if I ever trash my frame.
Both are great bikes I’m sure once you ride one of these you’ll make the switch when it’s time.
I want that tire/bike/grill rack🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
🤘🏻
Cheap bug screen for rear - look for patio screen net - magnetic center closure and you can find it for around $5-$20 depending on where you buy it. Thanks for sharing your thought process behind your decisions, and costs.
Clean build.
Stoked to see more on this bike!!
Converting it to an evo in a dream build hopefully next week!
Yokes love to snap coils, watch out
Tanner is a mechanic for specialized he knows what he’s doing.
Not to mention this bike is sold directly from specialized with a coil in certain builds. Yokes snapping coils was a problem on the Fox DHX series shocks because they had a smaller shaft diameter and couldn’t handle the side loading
Bad video...the lighting, low lighting would be good at the end of the build, as in photos....! JS
Lmao 😂
Nice build. Thanks. That's the shock I have on my evo. Love it. But why would you ditch the genie? Couple years from now they'll probably be on the market. Gonna try one on my Evo. I'll let you know what your missing out on. 😂. Probably nothing. Cause that rockshox is that good 👍
The genie is an awesome shock but he prefers rockshox so that’s what he went with
I heard the can on the genie is too big to fit the evo. Can you report back here?
I’m almost positive the genie won’t fit an evo. The air can is huge.
Dude what was that thread tape stuff you were using on the BB?
I believe that is Teflon tape specifically for gas line fittings
Teflon tape
Made in taiwan are better. This will snap
No it won’t it’s a very stout frame
Where is the new SJ made?
Immediately omitting their Fox Genie shock then! Interesting. I thought that was the whole point of this new frame?
It’s not the whole point of the frame you can literally buy one from specialized with a coil. The genie is an amazing shock honestly but everyone had their preferences.
@@brakeforsnakes No doubt, mate. Your's looks like a sick build, and of all the off-the-shelf builds, it's the Ohlins one that sticks out to me the most. I was more having a poke at Spesh's expense, due to the amount of emphasis they have put on Genie in all their release marketing. I genuinely found it interesting that you went straight for the coil (i.e. you don't believe the hype?) 🤙
@@adammoonface I just filmed this. It’s tanners bike but we works for specialized and I ride for spec. We both believe the hype the genie really is awesome he just wanted to do something different for the video.
@@brakeforsnakes i'd like to here a side by side comparison with the coil and a standard air shock and the genie..
Spectacular build - love every component!
James Robert Well done video
Thanks!
Awesome build! This is essentially how I would build it, considering getting a framset as well. I wonder how the coil works since the linkage is not very progressive. It doesnt blow through the travel? Would probably put a super deluxe ultimate, or vivid on mine if I were to build one.
It doesn’t just blow through the travel it actually rides really really well with the coil. Our other friend has a vivid on his and loves it.
@@brakeforsnakes Sounds great! Never got around to running a coil on my Evo, but might grab one of these and try the new vivid coil on it!
This video has me looking at my old S-Works Enduro dating 07 and appreciating how crazy well engineered S-Works frames are, back then AND now.
🤘🏻
How much travel on the rear end of this one?
145mm
Glad my Epic can take cables. XT and XTR dont need batteries. Stupid.
Yeah, the last thing I want to do on a mountainbike is having to be reliant on batteries, I just KNOW I'm going to forget to charge it some day and then your shifter stops working or what ever haha.
That’s fine. Shimano has fallen behind and brands are moving forward. Hopefully this inspires innovation and kicks shimano into gear. But again ever single one of symbols has transmission or axs so I don’t give a shit lol
If you can’t remember to charge a battery every month or so that seems more of a you problem. I just check the battery when I lube the chain it’s like regular maintenance
Is there really no mechanical cable option at least?
@@MrDavecore777 There is not.
Great build video!
Thanks!
Only need a 4.30 gear for 35" tires on an E250. Just did the calculations myself for mine.
For your your van and your uses.
Did Specialized extended the seat post insertion depth so we can actually use a 200mm dropper in the S3 frame? that's the only thing I dislike about my Stumpjumper Evo, I can't fit a longer dropper to get the saddle out of the way little more.
I'd double check on the website to know exactly what dropper will fit what frame. I can't say for sure that an X 200mm dropper will fit an S3 because I don't know the dimensions of all droppers.
@@brakeforsnakes I believe most popular droppers are Fox transfer and One up.
@@danielpatino81 Again I don't know the lengths of those droppers, research it before buying for sure.
What brand air compressor head is that?
I'm not sure you'd have to reach out to Tanner
EVT Presta Only head
There should be like a gazillion likes already! Fantastic work!
Thanks! Sharing helps ;)
@@brakeforsnakes I did :)
What size were the tires before and is that stock height
No it's lifted 5" I don't know what the stock size is.
Where are u finding good vans in so cal for 2 to 5k i paided 6300 for a 2003 e150 with 155k miles i thought that was good?
I don’t think a $2k van will be “good” but I did pay $2500 for my 2000 e350 with a quigley 4x4 conversion in Tahoe. Just gotta dig around its essy to find cheap vans. Just found one in Ventura for 2500obo on fb marketplace this morning.
Thank you so much for posting this. Been wanting a decked for years. Swapped my 2010 ranger for a 2001 access cab. I watched this video like ten times until I finally ordered one. Installed it last night. I love it and found this super helpful!
Hell yea love to hear it!
