Here in OKC the store has to buy cases of stuff like fireball and segrams 7 just to get a weller special reserve which they sell for like 40 dollars.Some stores do allocation sales 2x a year while others never get anything.I have seen Elmer T.Lee for 300 $ .I focus more on the unpopular brands and pay decent prices for it.

After 15 yrs of enjoying Bourbon I transitioned into Additive Free Tequila.I was tired of the high prices,allocation sales and the games liquor stores played with the customer.Sadly Additive Free Tequila is headed in the same direction.I still buy an occasional bottle of Bourbon but I no longer chase the coveted brands.There are plenty of good Bourbons sitting on shelves at good prices.Great Video,keep em coming !

I agree with you. No room for snobs. We like what we like, good chance others like it too. I'm not new but I haven't done it as long as many. I use these videos to find new bottles and explore the bourbon experience. Many of the cheap bottles are as good (if not better) as the allocated stuff. Be kind, be humble, enjoy the journey.

With more distribution overseas and more Indian owned stores popping up. Less allocated will be found at msrp. Bourbon won’t be the working man’s drink in 5-10 years.

Very good for the price. F dat for the price in Hawaii I get this for less then 20 bucks at Walmart. Highly recommended!!! For someone just starting out in their journey in Bourbon and I am trying to find out what type of pallet I like but definitely recommend this to beginners. Now with that said I have moved up to knob creek 9 year Single barrel and Sweet Jesus!!!!! What a difference so delicious!!! Big fan of Jim bean products and again for less than two weeks

I don't do drops anymore, because I just don't chase allocated bottles anymore... but I do miss the fellowship of hanging out in line with a bunch of like-minded whiskey enthusiasts though... This was definitely insightful. I just picked up my first SFTB today. Always thought regular Blantons was just alright but if the SFTB is this much better, I’m actually excited to open it. I love the smell of those fudge shops. I know barrels have variations but I hope it comes through

This is a cool video not what I’ve seen people do before top five big bottles to buy. I love it and I’m sure you know makers mark isn’t 80 proof. It’s always 90 proof. I think you just put that in there so I would make this comment and it worked.

This is basically like a top 5 bottle re-buy list! Wild Turkey 101, Old Forester 100, Evan Williams Bonded, Very Old Barton 100 and Early Times Bonded! I can't disagree with any of these! Cheap, inexpensive, available and good quality for the money!

I got a bottle of the EHTBPR and I think it's very different as you mentioned but very good. Def wouldn't pay or recommend paying the full $1k secondary but no regrets for me getting it for a slight markup. It's quite a ride on the flavor and long long finish. Really enjoy it.

The teaser is a question I've asked myself on a few occasions. There's some high priced and/or allocated whisky I've been able to taste that in my judgment isn't up to the standard of Old Grand-Dad 114, Old Forester 100, Bulleit Barrel Strength, or even Evan Williams Bottled In Bond.

Sazerac should have released this as 1792 Full Proof Rye. Whiskey fans don't need another EHT label that's only available from resellers at a steep secondary price.
