An update on the tools from last week, and a request for help!
Hi, I've been working on last week's tools and was wondering if anyone recognised the markings on this punch?
Hi, my name is Woody and I live in a little town named Biggenden in Queensland, Australia.
I am married, with adult children and a growing herd of grandchildren.
I like making videos about tools, such as Bahco, Sidchrome, Kincrome, Snap-on, Nepros, Koken, Gedore, Knipex, Wera, Wiha and many others.
I also like to talk about my Triumph America, as well as my old BMW and anything else really. Honda, Harley, Suzuki, KTM, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Gas Gas, Norton, Indian, Velocette, Vincent, Brough, I love them all.

I think you can never have enough extensions. I'll keep a 12mm and a 14mm on extensions. For that matter I'm so lazy I have multiple ratchets with sockets on them. tHanks for the video!
Those tools were a bargain 👍 went to a garage clear out last week and they were selling a box of various spanners and immediately thought of you. I didn't get them in the end because they were mostly open ended. Keep up the great videos 👍
Thanks mate, you too!
Nice hammer. What's the handle made out of? everything here in the states is hickory but i hear you guys have spotted gum. Wouldn't mind finding some of that here some day. We don't have any foot prints like those in the states, do they work well? those adjustable wrenches are in great shape. all the ones ive ever found have all been hammered to death to fit them on rounded nuts.
I am no expert at identifying timber, but my research says it is spotted gum. The footprints work similar to a stillson. They are still made new, though the adjustment design has been updated.
Nice haul. Just came across your channel and i love collecting old tools too. that rose wood angle gauge and that bullet level are beautiful. Do you do any wood working? I made a great dove tail saw out of a cheap gent saw like that. I also use a little hammer like that for adjusting plane irons.
I never got the hang of woodworking, but I have a crack when necessary. I do like the look of the old gear.
hes right mate. its a ear notcher for cattle. my grandfather had them on his farm.
Thanks for confirming that for me.
Footprint tools are still going and still made in Sheffield! They have a thumb turn version of the classic pipe wrench which is the only improvement it really needed.
I know! I look at them at the hardware store whenever I'm in there, and there is a factory tour on RUclips!
Good stuff. Advise me. I have some existing wall shelving support brackets that will need the top rack-shelf of the Montgomery to be down at 1500mm instead of at the top notch. Any problem?
No, not at all. You could shorten the uprights by cutting them off if it bothered you.
Did they ever even make a Type 3 convertible? Surely, it's just an aftermarket conversion to a saloon/fastback, no?
The history is quite confusing! From what I have read, there were 1500 official convertibles, but they were all much earlier.
The convertible letters on the vin are like a mountain range. No way VW would do that.
That was the way I was thinking!
Annoying loud music at the background
You are the only one to complain after three years, so I think this might be a You problem.
What? Dodgy on Feclebook marketdisgrace? What truth is this?
Yes, I too was surprised by the thought of untruth on this bastion of goodness. Perhaps I am mistaken!🤣🤣🤣
Interesting woody think you are right. Hope 2025 is a cracker mate 🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻
Thanks mate, all the best to you and yours also!
Not that old , early 2000s
nice review, I got one zero x stratus+. love it
Good to hear! I find I have so little time to use mine I have to re-learn every time so am not getting the best use of it.
Very interesting! Great video 😊
Thanks!
Thanks for the video. I have the same drone. I can pair the remote to the drone and calibrate it (solid green light on drone). However, when I press the lock button it won’t start. I have tried pressing it multiple times, at different locations, short and long presses but still nothing. When I press it I get a double beep from the remote. Do you have any suggestions. Thanks
This has been difficult for me too. I don't use mine much and struggle every time. I think from memory it is just a tap on the button and the wait a second or so for it to start up. if it beeps twice, it is not going to start.
Many thanks.
Hope you found it of some use.
Public roads don't go through private property . There is often private property each side of public roads .
Yes indeed, and the road goes through the private property on each side of it.
Nice one, thanks!
Thank you!
Crankshaft position sensors are a very common problem with these bikes. Had one where the coil was a big fat blue/white spark and the other was a weaker purple like spark. The fault was with the big fat blue white spark surprisingly.
I already replaced the pick up coil a few years ago. When it broke down this time, I replaced the spark plugs and there was spark on both. Still needed a new coil.
Typical man. Read instructions last! 🤣🤣🤣
Had three Triumphs over my life time. Would never own another. Waited for spare parts for more than 3-4 months. And I'm talking about basic commodity spare parts. Waited three months for an Accelerator cable for my Triumph Thunderbird. Just got sick of waiting everytime I needed something.
I haven't had that long a wait, though I notice Triumph does not seem to make any parts anymore. I have definitely had more trouble with this than any other bike.
Beautiful
Thanks mate.
What’s the bike on the lift mate?
1985 Kawasaki KD80. The next project.
@ Ooo yeah hope to see some videos on it mate 😉😉😉🇦🇺😎👍🏻
😎😎😎
👍
Sadly the Kinchome one is sold out I would have grabbed one 😮
Always good value, they often do sell out.
Good job woody you legend 🍻🍻🍻😎😎😎
Thanks mate
not sure if your blade was dull or the machine is trash. maybe both
The machine was trash, that was the point of the video.
21mm is very important the set is a fail
Yes, it is unfortunate that most standard metric sets only go to 19mm. The 21 is available separately.
@WoodyMotorcycleEnthusiast i have a set from bluepoint 50 euro till 21/22/24 and i have two separete spanners from stahlwille 220 hpq 17x19 and 19x22 which costs 160 euro these two spanners
@@passwordswordfish3013 Nice, Stahlwille are awesome tools!
Did the stainless steel hold up to no rust??
No sign of rust at all!
That's a definite improvement. My 2007 America has chrome panels there but the chrome is cracking/ bubbling in places so I have been planning to sand them down and respray. I have some expensive chrome paint but not sure how good it'll look, but if it's rubbish I'll go with black.
That's disappointing, hope it goes well for you.
Hello Woody. I will have to look at mine because I find that I can't turn as tightly going left compared to right so maybe have some sort of ristriction. Keep up the good work.
No worries
Thanks Woody! Seems like a cracker for the price mate. Wife checking up on you?? 😅 Cheers knackers
I'm sorry that you are selling this and will give no more videos of the upgrades. Hope it went to a good home.
I hope you have made your way through the rest of the videos and saw that I ended up not having to sell. There is a new one coming soon, with a new problem.
@@WoodyMotorcycleEnthusiast I'll look forward to it.
@@martinhack6486 👍
I have also fitted smaller brighter LED indicators. Yours are a definite improvement, as you suggested, the originals stick out too much. I took a slightly different route & replaced the relay then added diodes to the indicator warning light on the tank cluster but the end result is the same. I'm enjoying the videos - thanks.
You seem to have a better grasp of electronics than me. I took what seemed to be the easiest (though not the cheapest) way out. Glad you are enjoying the videos. They are frustrating to make, but hopefully they help.
Hi Woody. I have the 2007 version and love the bike but it does have unexpected issues. With your box, I think I'd maybe have removed it entirely (with a heatgun & saw) and fitted 2 external air filters straight to the carbs then tinkered with fuel/air on the carbs but it's horses for courses. I will watch your trials & tribulations with much interest & hope it's NOT a glimpse into my future. Good luck.
I did think of this, but was unsure if it would work, considering the airbox removal kits on the market. As it was my only form of transport at the time, I needed it to be usable within the next few days.
I like the micky mouse sign 👍🏻👍🏻😎
Yeah, me too.
Got one of them sharpening gadgets too. I can’t shapen stuff well either. That gold knife is definitely a shelf queen mate can be dinging that up 😱
I was surprised at how well the sharpener works. Yeah, I think the gold knife will stay in the drawer with my Leatherman.
Good for a laugh I like it!
Sure is.
How’s the corolla going mate any issues?
It's a great little car. My wife has claimed it as it's easier to park and cheaper to run that the Falcon.
@@WoodyMotorcycleEnthusiasthaha the boss has the final say lol
@@Jocko662 you got that right 🤣🤣
@ 🤣🤣🤣👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks for doing this mate really enjoy them 😊 Gee would have been great back when you were doing the land cruiser if this RUclips business was around would have been a good watch!
No worries, I'll keep doing them every now and then. Maybe I'll even buy one of the bikes.
Looks nicer than stock, but I always worry that cars won't see my signals, so I leave them big. What is the canister looking thing on the left side of your bike?
That was a can from a whiskey bottle that I mounted on there as a toolbox.
Got the honour of bringing a dog home from that market about 15 years ago. Old mate had a litter of cattle cross right at the front gate. I was a kid at the time mum and dad picked one out and said if he was there by the time we were done we would take him. Long story short he was the last one.
Awesome, nothing better than a great pet for a kid.
Looking good mate. Should get yourself a aircon in there to be able to work out there when it’s hot 😎👍🏻
I have a good fan so it's not too bad, though you can hear it in some of my videos. Next big spend is an 11m x 7m concrete slab with a two car carport on it.
Your shed is looking so good 😊❤
So nice of you to comment. Thank you!
I'm a DIY car guy but have done all my own work on my own and family cars for almost 60 years. I still have my original 60s Sidchrome ratchet, and have never abused it but have also never opened it up. I just give it a bit of engine oil now and again and it still works as good as new.
That's great, I love to see old tools still in use. How do you oil it if you don't open it up?
I’m on my second speed master And you are spot on about where the key is A shit spot
Yeah, I’ve found the easiest way to find the keyhole is to be sitting on the bike.
I like mine, but I need to get some more of the Vessel brand "Go-sai" bits for it. They have quite a few different ones on Amazon for it. But, I really like my Vessel Impacta screwdrivers. They're great, I've got all 3 sizes of them now. Their quality for what I paid has made me a fan.
Thanks for the advice, I'll look for them also. The impactas are fantastic and I've just bought a 1985 KD80 to fix up, so mine will be getting some use.
OMG
LOL, WTF.
It's the temporary/permanent gear shift my buddy used to have on his bultaco dirt bike .
Awesome! Nothing like a home repair.
