hey bro hope you are doing well, i bought a X-t2 after watching how passionate you were about it and love it! please do an update video on where you are with your photography.

adding towards your nikkor 50mm recommendation and since i used to shoot with nikon too, i ll give you a REAL gem here, that is if you can get away with no autofocus because its a manual focus one. The nikon AI 50mm F2.0 from 1974. and the F2 version specifically!! (there are other versions of it). but the F2 version of this thing has among the best and most beautiful bokeh i have ever seen on a 50mm lens and i m not joking on this. its a perfect mix between a really quality bokeh, but that also has a lot of character to it. its probably one of my favorite lenses period. i m with you on that, that vintage glass is awesome. 1. i am a very budget oriented person and i know this is how it is but i m not gonna spend hundreds or thousands on glass. 2. i think if you have a quality glass, they all produce sharp images, however modern lenses mostly lack that ''character'' because they are so perfect that they might be boring because those little imperfections are missing. 3. to go with 1. its not the gear but the person using it. back in the day i was using a cheap Nikon D90 with a prism viewfinder and my 50mm f2 and i cant count the amount of times we were at some event or whatnot and i saw those ''gear collectors'' go by. you know those people with the latest and greatest canon fullframe with the most expensive L glass they could find...yet all of their photos were bland, boring and mediocre at best. and i was like: man... if only this guy knew, that my little 50mm f2 i bought for 25bucks can do better than this. you can accumulate an truely amazing lineup of lenses for super cheap and do everything they can, and all you re missing really is an AF and thats it. and vintage nikon glass is prob. the best you can invest in for adapting i think and thats because until recently, how their mounting system was designed. other manufacturers had different mounts but nikon was sticking to exactly the same mount for everything so you could take the latest nikon D850 or something and slap any nikon glass from like 1960 or so on it without any issues at all because they all use the same mount. that opens you up to such a vast collection of glasses to chose from compared to any other manufacturer pretty much

100% agree. Still shooting the xt2 for personal stuff, along with a film Nikon FM2n. I have an Xt4 as well, but there's definitely something about the Xt2 that feels more authentic.

I really like the 35 mm Takumars as well. I chose the F2 version only because it’s kind of soft and dreaming at F2, which is what I wanted. It’s nice to have two lenses in one. You can use as well as it sharpens up by 2.8. It’s more money but certainly worth the cost. The 50 1.8 is an excellent choice as I used that lens for shooting weddings. I grew up shooting on real tri-x film and doing all my own darkroom work. Life got in the way but after all these decades, I’d love to get back to capturing that b&w look. I think I need to buy an X-T2 soon!

Hi can you recommend a pancake lens for general use like landscape, street photography and occasional portraits?

The only thing I hate about Takumar 35/3.5 is the lack of enough aperture blades. The bokeh becomes so ugly and polygonal shapes if you use any aperture except f3.5.

Cool. I had a X-T2 before I got the X-T4 that now broke for the second time. I'm now waiting for the delivery of a used X-T2 which I liked better for the reasons you mentioned.

I love vintage lenses which I use on my XT2. I've got the Pentax 50mm f1.7 (my favourite, so sharp), a mint Minolta 58mm f1.4 (equivalent 87mm f2.2 on my XT2) , a Pentax M 50mm f1.4 macro, and the Konica Hexanon AR 40mm F1.8 Pancake (beautiful colours).

Two years after sharing your video, the X-T2 is still my #1choice for everyday photography, street and holidays. I've got an X-H2 meanwehile, but who needs 40 Mpix and who needs IBIS when you own a prime with bright aperture or a zoom lens with image stabilization?

What pisses me off about the cop encounter is the nerve of him advising you on how to take better photos. You're the photographer in that situation, you're the only judge of whether you're shooting what you want to shoot and if what you're shooting is better now or later. I understand him asking you what you're doing, but as soon as you said you're taking photos and he can plainly see your camera and tripod, he should have driven along with a friendly "Have fun."

Try to switch off stabilization when using a tripod and try manual focus. This could help a lot But it's a pain in the ass to peacefully do photography in the US as a black person ( by night) 😅 I don't have this kind of issue so far. But thanks for your energy. Again... IOS off and manual focusing if using a tripod by night 🌙

Where have you been? I just discovered you and subbed My favorite vintage lens for my XT 20 is a 28mm f2.5 Minolta rokkor it's sharp and has those Minolta colors I bought a near mint one for $75

Great video! I think they were pretty close. I actually shoot digital and film and have shot a ton of Cinestill 800T. Only thing I would say is it felt a little warm to me. I just made a video covering 4 tungsten films I made recipes for and I had the Cinestill 800T at 3200K custom white balance and the WB shift at -5 Red and -5 Blue. Only thing you really can't get out the fuji camera is those halations like you mentioned and they need to be added in post.
