Thanks for your prompt reply. I plan on checking out the area this weekend. Any advice on how or where to locate properties in the are for sale. I was in Musanze for 3 days but because of language barrier, I couldn't even find a single housing agent in the city, how much more a person who knows someone or knows how I could at least, find a place to rent in the city, so I could figure things out myself. Here in Kigali, you either own your own place or pay ridiculous Western price in rent or Airbnb. There's no middle class apartment rentals. In summary, I'm looking for a residential land, a decent home or apartment for sale in the suburban areas. Here in Kigali, apartment for sale are ridiculously over priced, yet they're not completed and ready to move in.

When I went, the service was good (however I have not been recently lol). Hopefully, you gave them the feedback about the service, and they will strive to improve!

@@XY-rh3if I would highly recommend visiting any country you are considering first prior to relocation. Each country is different, and may not be the best fit for your personality and lifestyle. Do not base your decision solely on what you see on RUclips. RUclips is helpful, but you need to do your own research on the ground. You definitely need to visit first for at least 4-6 weeks prior to moving.

@@visitplanventure That's exactly the plan. However, the fact that you're still there is a sign that it's worth making that first move to explore the place for that one month you mentioned. Rwanda or Kenya are definitely my kind of places. No curruption, quiet, not much night life because I'm not interested in that. It's clean and the ease of doing business is actually better than what is obtainable in many developed countries. Suffice to say that Rwanda and Kenya are Paradise compared with Nigeria.

I primarily go to Kenya every 6 months because I used to live there, and I have family and friends there. However, you and your family can cross whatever border is most convenient. Keep in mind that flying in Africa, even to neighboring countries, is ridiculously expensive. There are not a lot of airlines operating on the continent, so the prices remain high because there is not much competition. So, for a family of 4, you may want to research crossing the border via bus routes or by car. I personally have not taken the bus, but it is substantially cheaper than flying.

As a foreigner, you are allowed to purchase one property for residential purposes only. Any additional property purchase (including for business) requires that you obtain an investment certificate. You can research online what is required to obtain an investment certificate in Rwanda (as there are a number of requirements), and you can also email the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) to ask specific questions, etc.
