The Shankill & Falls Rd Murals tell a very different the story !
The murals on Shankill and Falls Roads in Belfast are powerful symbols of Northern Ireland's complex and often turbulent history. On Shankill Road, the murals predominantly reflect the Unionist and Loyalist community's identity and heritage. These vibrant and sometimes stark images depict historical figures, commemorations of paramilitary organizations, and tributes to those who lost their lives in the conflict. The murals serve not only as an expression of political allegiance but also as a reminder of the community's resilience and the ongoing desire for cultural preservation. They are a living testament to the Unionist perspective on Northern Ireland's past and present.
In contrast, the...

Two Points to mention ... 1, you can walk right round the roads of Gooderson Park but you didn't why ? 2, Everton had Anfield as there Football Ground Way Before Liverpool was Ever Thought Of. They left Anfield because the rent was put up far to high, so they left and moved to Goodison Park. The landlord was left with the Anfield Football Ground .... so he set up a team called Liverpool Football Club!.

YOu're right. I should've walked around but for some reason. I didn't. Next time I come the Liverpool I will. As for the reasons why LFC was established, I have a slightly different bent on history. As I understand it John Houlding, a brewer, was not allowed to sell beer by the strong Catholic beliefs of the the owners of EFC. He decided he'd start his own football team as a result ! Either way, it created an awesome rivalry that still continues and always will

I moved to Cornwall over 3 years ago and can confirm the county has many beautiful places: historic former & current fishing villages, harbours, coasts, beaches & coves, woodland, rivers, reservoirs etc however, let’s not forget it is also one of the most deprived counties in England and relies heavily on tourism, farming and food production for its income. Some of the ‘non-touristy’ places are not so pretty and sadly have been allowed to deteriorate. Try and get an NHS dentist in Cornwall if you’re an adult…no chance.

It's rare and interesting to be able to walk around a corner to compare the old stadium with the new, but in my opinion it doesn't show the new stadium in a great light. The facia of Highbury's East Stand in particular is unique and famous. It has an aesthetic beauty that reeks of opulent style and durability, that instils a sense of pride in Gooners, and more than a nod of respect from away supporters, like myself. In contrast the concrete, steel, and glass soulless bowl that is the Emirates feels cheap and tacky; even it's name is sponsored, and could change with the whim of signing a new business deal that fans would have no party to. And this, of course is it's one advantage over Highbury - economics. At closure, Highbury could seat roughly 38,500; the Emirates has a capacity of almost 61,000. Season tickets in the Emirates range from just under £1,000 to just over £2,000 - almost the most expensive in England. So from a business point of view it's a no-brainer to move; especially when you include the restrictions set by the Premier League's profitability and sustainability rules. But football is more than mere money - the emotional connect; the romance; the feeling of belonging; the sense of history - all of these are largely left behind when you up sticks. I for one sincerely hope that the Villa never leave our home - it's sacred ground.

    • @arturotraveller3761

What a fascinating insight. Thank you ! I feel the same about Anfield. Moving would be inconceivable. I guess rebuilding Highbury didn’t stack up. It might also have been impractical given the space restrictions.

FAO Natasha Sherringham :- Whatever the Queen did, whether you liked it or not, she devoted her life to the country. That's NOT my opinion, that's a FACT. You're rant about Food Banks has absolutely nothing at all to do with her. She gave her name and time and effort to raise millions for charities all over the world, what have YOU done?????? Is it HER fault she didn't have to worry about paying a gas or electric bill? Seriously, engage your brain and think about it. And why are you lying? You said that you can understand why people boo-ed the minutes silence for the Queen. I'm saying that I cannot. I DON'T need to understand why they feel that way. They can go **** themselves as far as I'm concerned! They are lowlife. Boo-ing someone who is not a serial killer or child molester is wrong in my book. You didn't boo, BUT you can understand why someone would. Well they need help!! Because the Queen did no harm to them. Maybe you're naive, but as I already explained a big factor in the dislike of the Royals is from Republicans or in "SOME" cases Roman Catholics. NB. I also know Catholics who love the Royal family. And what are you talking about Tragedy chanting for? Again you've been brainwashed. Go onto social media and you will find people expressing the opinion that LFC fans play the victim. You're opinion of what the Queen HASN'T done for Liverpool is a perfect example of that!! I repeat.......What did the Queen do differently to Liverpool than Hull, Brum, Newcastle, Bristol etc??????????????????????????? The answer is nothing and yet here you are again, playing the victim. Finally people can make up their own minds on where the word victim came from. FOR ME, it's simple. NOTHING to do with Hillsborough. It might be for some but for many it's NOTHING to do with Hillsborough. It's to do with Heysel and the total denial of any responsibility for the death of 39 Juve supporters. And in fact pointing the blame at others including Chelsea supporters! Another example of "Never your Fault" cropped up famously again after the Suarez racial incident in 2012 where Kenny Dalglish and LFC allowed the squad to wear t-shirts supporting Suarez. Even Carra has since said they got it wrong! And finally I have never and would never sink as low as LFC fans did when they sang gleefully for 20+ years about the death of 23 footballers and journalists. I have NEVER sang about Hillsborough. I have been attending football on the terracing for decades and have been in many difficult situations especially @ Rangers/Celtic games. I have nothing but sympathy for the 97 @ Hillsborough, the 66 @ Ibrox, or the 56 @ Bradford. May they all RIP.

Thankfully the GREAT majority of scousers welcome us “tourists” with open arms. After all it’s us “tourists” that help generate TV income (and the rest) that enables LFC to compete. If the “tourist” label means I can come to Liverpool and follow my team in the future then I’ll wear it as a badge of honour !

I always find it ironic that Liverpool have players from all around the world and that some will be totally on board with that, but think that you have to be Scouse to follow the team. It's the absolute height of hypocrisy. I've met some solid Aussie reds in my time here and it's clear from the video that you have a genuine passion for the club, so who cares where you're from.
