Hello! Willkommen to my RUclips.
I'm a 28-year-old German living in New Zealand, and just a year and a half ago, I could barely tell a spark plug from a steering wheel. Now, I'm all in with my 1991 Mercedes-Benz 300TE 24V. Quite the change, wouldn’t you say?
Here, you’ll find a mix of how-tos, high-quality footage, and adventures of all sort with my beloved W124. With a background in film and media, expect the videos to be polished, informative, and occasionally, unintentionally funny.
My goals? Hitting 100 subscribers, then 200, and eventually 1,000 to join the RUclips Partner Program. Ambitious? Sure. Achievable? Absolutely.

Intro #0: First Look at My 1991 Mercedes-Benz S124 300TE 24V - The Journey Begins!
Hi, i have been seeing your video today. I see that your old EHA is good and ther is no defect in this part through your Star engine in begining your video where is the engine started smoothly but i see the economy guage in your dashboard goes to the red mark, which is an error and indicates fuel consumption, and it must go to the far end of the black mark so that the engine is comfortable and quiet in idle mode. So you should check the calibration of your air flow sensor by adjusting it through A device that measures CO2. So you have to visit specialist mechanical in order to calibrate. Thanks
The o ring of the EHA adjustment screw is cracked or missing
Fuel accumulator if no start when cold start in the morning. Turn key in on position for 10 seconds. It should start right away
is this also for W124 300TE M103 engines?
Hey, yes an m103 will also have an eha valve. It wont be the exact same part, as the the valve itself will be configured slightly different to suit the engines needs.

New Fuel pressure regulator helped me with first time starts cheap and easy fix
I was thinking about that… unfortunately the fuel pressure regulator for the m104 is not cheap at all.
Doing great work, I'm waiting for delivery of my new (old) 124. And love watching the problem solving at work
Thank you for this wonderful explanation. Can you tell me where you got the wiring diagram? Is there a repository of these where I can grab them? Thanks!
I’ve added the website I got this one from in the description. I usually visit many websites until I find what I need… I have yet to find my one place to go for everything.
The same thing happened to my 260E... Suddenly there was a smell of fuel and you could see a dripping line..... It is the only part that I have changed on my Mercedes due to failure. Not to mention wear and maintenance parts
When do we get Pokémon pack opening in the car?
What kind of pack should I open?
@@ArcticWhite300TE legendary collection
Very well explained. My car only opens the trunk and driver's door. Gasoline and others I have to open the manual. I will review Do you have a PDF of the diagram? Thank you
I just googled w124 Central locking diagram and found a lot of helpful images. Can you hear your vacuum pump operating? Trunk, Driver, and front passenger all send electrical signals. Rear passengers and petrol flap and vacuum only. The yellow lines are the vacuum lines. If you put down a little more info on what's going on on your side I could give you more of my thoughts. Keep in mind, I'm not an expert though :D
@@ArcticWhite300TE Thanks for responding Yes, you can hear the engine under the back seat. And those with the back doors open and close whenever they want, if they're lucky. Not that they will always work. Just like gasoline. Every so often I lubricate with spray and it works for a while. Then it's time to open the manual. You are not an expert. But you know more than me and that helps😅

Hey Sarah, schoen von dir zu hoeren! Den sweater hat mir vor ca. 8 Jahren Basti fuern Fruehsteck getauscht, EIn hervorragender Deal :D
Seems like you're actually learning as you go. #1, You didn't have to disassemble the air filter housing, just remove it as is. Also, the one pin wire is for the transmission kickdown solenoid. The other end is routed to the transmission, on the m103 both connections are secured towards the back of the engine block.
I am! Of course I try to do enough research beforehand... #1 Someone else also told me pretty much immediately after I uploaded the video, not doing that extra step anymore haha. #2 That is very interesting. When I kick down, I am definitely getting the shift down. Now I am wondering if that's just a natural shift down?? I couldn't really see any place to plug the pin in... Also mines an m104, but that probably doesn't change any of your statement
If you have any sources or pics that could help me regarding that one pin wire, please let me know!
Just google m104 kickdown solenoid and search until you find it.
@@ArcticWhite300TEExcuse me, how can I replace the fuel pump fuse in a 1996 Mercedes Benz E320?
When the engine is cold it have to be some1200 revs and soon decreses to regular 800-900.thats the way it should be.
I am not too sure about that. Definitely agree that when cold starting it will be higher first, but once reaching temperature, a lot of documentation suggests that the rev count should be between 600 and 750 for the m104. Although I'd also suggest that age of the vehicle components and the difference in fuel compared to 35 years ago, have an influence on what is considered normal. Overall, I'm actually not fussed too much about my idle, as long as its stable and the numbers aren't crazy high or low. After having had it at the mechanic recently, he adjusted the fuel mixture screw, and now it will sometimes surge when warm. I deliberately didn't touch that screw for exactly that reason...
@@ArcticWhite300TE acoeding to what i have learned about KE cold start it is like that.i can record that it with my w201 first generation KE.there is specified time i think some twelve secconds rev are1200 and after that drops the way it should be.if you follow the chanell fix your mercedes there is video about that in w124 .the ECU sends voltage certain time depending to temp sensor to cold start valve to regulate revs.the EHA is receiving voltage depending on temp sensor and other compinents like potentiometter.it is also recomended not let mechanics to adjust fuel mixture screw same as the adjusment on the EHA.i am not KE specialist i am classic mercedes owner but i am trying to fix my mercedes cos it there is no obd2 port it is mechanicall system with fine adjustments as you previously said.
Hello Arctic. I just want to thank you for making some nice and detailed videos!! I bought a C124 300e from 1990 this summer and i have a few things on my "to do list" aswell. allways good insperation keep up the good work! and BTW she is a pretty car ;) best regards Thomas. Denmark.
Hey Thomas, thanks for your comment! I've had to slow down a bit recently with my videos. Life has been getting in the way a bit... Is your 300E and m103 or m104? some late 1990s were already 104s as far as is know. Also, what's on your to-do? Might need to reach out if you fix something that I need to attend to eventually.
@@ArcticWhite300TE Hello Arctic. Rome was not build in one day! my 300E got the good old M103 engin :D well as most of my projects the list is long... fix rust - change rear and front windows - change headlights - install insolation on the hood - fix vacuum lock on passanger door - fix heating on driver seat - fix power windows - new wood trim - big sercive on all breaks - coat the wheels - fix vacuum lock on front seats - low idle - lack of power under acceleration. so fare that is all on the list but i wont be supriced if more things will be added to the list. best regrds Thomas.
The Reason for the bouncing speedo could also be the plastic speedo drive gear in the transmission.
Appreciate your comment! ... and haven't thought that. It will certainly be the next thing I'd look at. But I did notice some improvement already, so I am somewhat optimistic that lubing the whole speedocable should do the trick. Only one way to find out though :D
7:31 in the reflection of the window is that the mastermind behind all these videos?
New cameraman… said he will film every week now, but only if he gets a cameo
Genuine suspense waiting for the Economy gauge to move, or not! Great job.

Love the series bro, been working on a c124 amg build up here in Auckland
Sick! I always keep my eyes on all 124s on trademe and marketplace, so rare to see a coupe 😮
Thank you for the time and explanation.
You’re welcome!
Thanks for sharing, and it's nice to see you taking care of the car. Few remarks; you may want to close the backdoor very carefully. I'm not sure if your closing mechanism still works, but it definitely doesn't like to be slammed. Just lay the door on the latch and press it one click, the mechanism will then secure the door with a satisfying 'brrrzt-click' ;-) Second, that rust wasn't that bad imho. It was deepish surface rust, but that kind of rust I would have just painted Hammerite over it and called it a day. Nice to see you doing it so thoroughly tho! Keep up the good work!
Hello friend! Absolutely right about the boot. More often that not I am actually a lot more careful, sometimes the weight of the door mixed with my focus on something else gets in the way of the gentle approach. In another video I actually do mention that the locking mechanism sounds a bit "crunchy", which should probably make me even more cautious. Luckily though, I do have a spare mechanism not that I want to install it before absolutely necessary. Regarding the rust, you're probably right and I could have saved myself a lot of time :D I saw this very much as practice, so I wanted to go all out and test all the tools. I think for future rust treatment I might way the options a bit more and go for a less intrusive approach. Anyway, thanks for watching my video :)
Loving the videos man, and following the series has been so fun! Keep it up bro :)
Thanks Jordan, this week was the first week I missed filming one :( I actually did end up doing a lot of work, but it was a stressful affair. Started pulling stuff apart in the rain, locked myself out the car, spent hours on electrical testing - all that with barely any progress. When I'm filming and working, everything takes about twice as long, and I simply didn't have the energy for that. Hopefully I feel recharged this weekend, then I'll recap what happened and hopefully have some solutions on the way too. Thanks for watching and commenting btw, appreciate that, especially after this weekends tough grind..
Another banger 🎉

Chic
Is it heat or fireproof? As far as I’m aware those foam sheets are extremely flammable. 🤔
It is designed for this vehicle, so I would assume it has a reasonable threshold. I’ve got a longer version of this video on my channel, which contains the link for the product in the description.
I've been waiting so long for this video, the underside of the bonnet looked so bad before
Thanks for being patient!
are you gonna customise ur car?
I've got a few things in mind, but I mostly want to keep it fairly clean. Form follows function is the motto.
I wonder if maybe you could have made a little sound insulation sandwich with that to make a homemade sound dampener.
How exactly do you mean? By the way, I thought it wouldn’t change much in terms of sound anyway, but it actually does dampen the engine noise significantly! Been doing about 500km since I have it, and I can 100% tell a difference. I also reckon my engine gets up to temps a little bit faster, but that might be bogus 😁
Video quality is unmatched!!
We're trying hard! My camera man is learning steadily :D
Take a shot everytime you see the cat
Make rug review a weekly thing 🙏
Sheepskin is a very nice idea. The taupe looks actually very good, grey is only grey.
thanks! I'll have to find a place that potentially lets me put one on to see, but I'm quite confident it should blend in well. And you're right, I like a bit of character.

sexual tension between you and the blonde.
Nice shirt!!
very helpfull video!
More cat footage please
Furry steering wheel cover?
How does this channel have only 50 subs? The video and audio quality, as well as the camera work, is superb. You just got yourself a new subscriber from Lithuania
Thanks for your kind words! And your sub😃
No rust! That was so stressful.
So happy you didn't find any rust, when I sent you the msg on reddit I didn't think I would see a video a few days later , its great to see she is rust free
Thanks my friend, I’m also very pleased. The little bit of rust I found so far should also not be too hard to deal with. Still plenty of other parts to remove though, so the search will go on. Also have a lot of other things I want to do and content I’d like to create. Hoping I can keep up producing one of these per week 💯
Another banger video! Will have to try this on my car
i can’t believe how expensive this small part is. Hopefully mine doesnt go out any time soon
It very much depends where in the world you are too! In Germany or the US it’s definitely easier in cheaper.. New Zealand makes life a bit harder in this case 🥲
I did not know you had a twin?
He escaped the glove box again…
Where did you get the fuel pump locking mechanism?
Both the vacuum pump and the fuel lid lock were supplied by a friend and his spare parts car!
Hopefully you can figure this out in the next video!
Nice video, very clear for anyone wanting to make the same investigation. Shame no happy ending!
Thanks. Very much a learning process for me, so naming tools or parts might not always be correct :D such is the journey
I think it would be better if your main screen was what you are showing as you speak, rather than the wide shot of the car.
Honestly, that was the plan… but then I held my phone vertical 🙃 all future content will be full screen capturing everything as detailed as I can.
