Welcome to my RUclips channel! My ultimate goal for my channel is to share some of my fishing knowledge and experiences with you when you watch my videos. Most of my videos will be based in New England, BUT I am sure some stuff will transfer to other parts of the world and species you may be going after. I will be fishing in both fresh and saltwater in kayaks and from shore. Occasionally I may do a video on a charter boat. I must admit I am not a perfect and professional fisherman and I will never be, so bare with me in my videos to hopefully learn some good stuff and to maybe learn from mistakes I may make on the way. Most of all get out and get fishing and share the joy of fishing with your friends and loved ones! Please Like and Subscribe!

Kayak Fishing for Bonito. Non-Stop Action on Light Tackle! (1080p)
Bonito fishing in Rhode Island is insanely good right now whether you fish from shore, boat, or kayak there is a lot of action to be had. I pretty much fill my cooler in 2 hours ( to be used for crab bait and food) and then I focus on continuing testing the durability of my jigs. I hope you enjoy the video! Please like and subscribe and go out and catch these tiny tuna!

Black Sea Bass Fishing Buzzards Bay. Easy to Use Rigs for Black Sea Bass.

This is an overview of a few different rigs you can use for Black Sea Bass. Black Sea Bass fishing is a pretty simple way to get your feet wet bottom fishing as these fish are pretty aggressive and strike most offerings. You can keep things simple with a hi/lo rig or you can use lures. It's up to you! I find using ducktails tipped with strips of bait my favorite method as it's a little more ent...
Bad Weather Bluefish (Not the day I was hoping for..)
Просмотров 5343 месяца назад
My original intention of this video was to reach for some fluke for the table, but..... just like the last video I get distracted by fish feeding on the surface; bluefish and Striped Bass. I did catch my first fluke of the season, though short. Then bad weather blows in and the rest is history. Enjoy!

As the title implies, I was out fishing for tautog this day until a tornado of Striped Bass invade the area I was fishing chasing clouds of sand eels. I did well tautog fishing this day, but the Striped Bass stole the show. Light tackle and down sized lures were essential to this day's HUGE SUCCESS. I Caught a cow on 15lb test and a very light rod/reel set up. ENJOY, LIKE,COMMENT AND SUBSCRIBE!...
Kayak Fishing Catching a Limit of Winter Flounder (plus more)

Join me in this video while I head out in my kayak, to a fairly new spot for me, where I target Cape Cod Bay Winter Flounder. I was here briefly the week prior for the first time where I caught one short flounder so I didn't end up making a video. This day couldn't be much more opposite of the last, where I caught my limit of Winter Flounder, AKA "Black Backs", in a short span of time when I st...
Using Light Tackle and Jigs for Tautog! (simple how to)

In this Video I bring you out fishing on my kayak to fish for Tautog using light inshore tackle to go after Tautog using jigs. One may ask, "why use light tackle for Tautog", when they are such a strong fish? Well, because it's fun! there isn't a better way to enjoy the bulldog fighting nature of a tautog in my opinion. Some days jigs will out fish rigs with conventional hooks and sinkers. Some...

You should do a guide on how to use a fish finder to see specific fish I want to get into kayak fishing but don’t know what to look for
great video I really learned something watching Thanx
Glad to hear it!
Same here 100%
Snakz are for all inshore fish. 2 bad you didn't except me to be invited. Going to catch Bluefin on Wednesday 😮
Good luck. Never caught a bluefin, just a bigeye.
I love that sound!!!!
👏👏👏👏
Those are the smallest squid I've ever seen
I love this video! Carp fishing is awesome!!
Glad you enjoyed it
❤❤❤❤❤
I see this exact lure in the store didn’t even give it a second look and know am watching what it does on RUclips . Know you know I am going to buy it for sure
Always a good lure to have on standby in the tackle box for sure.
From docks and shore I use 5’6 ultra light with 6 pound line 😂 you don’t need that heavy ass setup
You can lift a 15inch scup 5-10ft with 6lb test with an ultralight set up? Are you using a net? Leader? I'd love to see that! Mono or braid?
Awesome day, xtra special to get them on your lure. Loved the look of your lunch, haha. You really make incredible videos of the more uncommon fisheries up here, love it
Thanks man. You have some awesome vids too! We should meet up sometime!
This frog deserves a oscar
nice
Thanks man
Like To Support Local Fishermen’s businesses any link to purchase your lures? Thanks
Working on building a site
Thanks for the video. Is it had to be high tide or low tide. And the weather current. I want to try Narragansett is it good
It was an incoming tide right at sunrise. Two days prior there was not a fish to be seen so part of it is luck and being in the right place at the right time. Plus the bait had been pushed into the shore after a sustained wind in that direction that helped.
AWESOME VIDEO BROTHER KEEP AT IT !
Appreciate it!!
I know a lot of fisherman don't like to give up locations but if you don't mind letting me know where abouts cause if bonito are around that means mackerel are around I been scouting newport and Jamestown the last couple weekends but haven't seen much I'm so happy I came across this video new subscriber
Do you think they will hit a yozuri crystal minnow?
100%
PHENOMENAL DAY!!! You my friend have to be the HUMBLEST fisherman on the Tube. Your vids are so instructional and inspirational!!! You do an AWESOME JOB brother, looking forward to the next!!!
I appreciate that!
@@davedeefishing YW, WELL DESERVED!!!
Are you in Jamestown
Awesome fishing! Is there any regulations on size/quantity you're allowed to keep? Filled that cooler up quick 🤣
No regs on them
Nicely Done Bud 🤙🏽 Lots of fish tacos 🌮 for lunch and dinner 😋
Thanks 👍
That looks like a blast catching Bonita from the kayak. I’ve caught them from the boat but not in a few years and not (yet?) from my kayak. I have an Old Town ePDL 132 that is great in big water but I haven’t worked up the courage / confidence to do a surf launch. Do you launch your Salty PDL through the waves? Great job with the new lure design, great video, and great fishing! Thanks
I'm really careful for the most part about when and where I launch. Most of the time, I launch in a sheltered area to get to the spots I want even though it makes for a longer trek. I've tried a few times launching in wavy areas and I've almost tipped over going out and coming back in and almost losing gear in the process. In short, I very rarely launch into the surf for safety reasons. Not to mention weather changes really quick and surf can worsen by the time you need to come in!
Nice day fishing…..those are like smallmouths on steroids!
I love a good smallmouth bass. Haven't caught one in a year!
Great day minus jetskis
Most of the jetski people were courteous, except for one. Boats were obnoxious, driving into the schools of breaking fish and scattering them a lot of the morning.
@@davedeefishing or small boat charter captains pushing people off of a bite... gotta freakin love them
Impressive!! What type model kayak do you use??
Oldtown salty pdl 120. I love it
Your a great fisherman congrats on the nice catch 🔥🔥
Thanks 👍
Delicioso Jajaja, im in holbrook if you want to sale me some of the lures you make
Dave what a video wow, you are amazing fisherman
I plan on hitting the wall on Monday. Tight lines! Looking forward to using those from shore.
I’m going tomorrow to Judith
What squid jig is that?
B-hagz horizontal squid
@@davedeefishing thank you 🙌
Is it best to fish for them at night time?
Yes, definitely.
Good times!
we lived in newfoundland canada for 5 years . they called them capelin . they would roll up on shore in the millions . the kids would collect them in gallon buckets and sell them for a buck to 5 bucks apiece . i cant remember . we would deep fry them , no cleaning involved , the atlantic was salty enough . are capelin the same as smelt ?
I am not impressed, people are saying because of the proxy resin they will fall apart. ❓🔦
They are baked and epoxied now and have gone thru 3 renditions of the swingtail and 4 for the earball. They are a lot tougher now. Surviving the teeth of bluefish, bonito, and fluke. That's what testing is for... people don't realize how many different types of epoxies there are out there and what they actually are capable of.
@@davedeefishing well I find that hard to believe friend 🔦
Nice catch 👍
Thank you very much!
hey man i go to the ct river all the time and just so you know i would not be walking in there the water is nasty and they dump sewage in there but it has almotst every fish imagineable!
Great video Dave! If you end up selling those ball head jigs you should call them Dee's Balls jigs. I'd buy them lmao. tight lines.
good quality videos!
If fluke needs to be 19 inch. You’re in Rhode Island . Tony
GREAT VID brother!!! You do a great job explaining your techniques and applications. Also, congrats on such a successful homemade lure, AWESOME!!!
I appreciate that!
Good video! I fish a lot of winter flounders. I understand what you’re trying to present to the fish. I will try your method, though I have other successful rigs fishing from a boat.
Flounder aren't too picky and realistically any rig that puts bait on the bottom will work. I just prefer this one.
@@davedeefishing I agree with you! If you are able to present the bait to them with an efficient rig, you catch more fish.
Rhode island?
You probably already know this, but epoxies tend to be brittle and can shatter pretty easily. There are types of epoxy that are more flexible and can absorb the shock of hitting rocks and will hold up better.
I'm open to suggestions! I've tried 2 epoxy coatings so far. Realistically I don't think there is a chip proof epoxy just ones that try to resist chipping. I expect paint to chip no matter what but I just want it to last a wee bit longer than spro stuff. My spros don't last one outting for fluke before they lose their hair and have no paint on their bellies. The scup and sea bass are the main perpetrators in missing hair. Really I think it's a win if the hair stays put because a bucktail will work without paint, but it absolutely needs hair for presentation.
Your lures are working well 💪
@@davedeefishing I use Aleene’s fabric fusion (fabric glue) for my jigheads and flies but that’s for personal use. It’s water-based so you can’t leave them in water, but as long as you dry them out at the end of the day, it holds up well. Probably doesn’t make sense for a commercial product. I would look into the epoxies used for rod making or rod guides. Those are pretty flexible. If you’ve tried those already I think Total Boat makes some more flexible versions. It might be worth the investment. Of course if the jig heads hold up better, it won’t improve the fish catch rate but will definitely improve the fisherman catch rate.
I need a kayak.
Check the spelling of your reel
Dave, thanks much for this useful instructional video. Very few bloggers delve into the details of how to fish for porgy and their videos are 5-minute long. Two questions, if you don’t mind: 1) If one is fishing from shore/beach (in my case - Long Island Sound, NY), what type of sinker would you recommend - pyramid or bank? 2) Have you ever fished for porgy with artificial bait such as Fishbites and Fishbites EZ Strips?
I'd just stick with pyramids if using pretied rigs for ease of use and they are less likely to roll. I have used fish bites for whiting down in Florida so I know they work, but I never used it for scup. Scup are not picky eaters so I imagine they will try and eat it no problem.
@@davedeefishing Thanks.
What peer you fishing from? Massachusetts area?
